  • Hi all,

    first time I’ve joined this forum. I did the fast diet last year – i will be honest, primarily for it’s weight loss benefits. I dropped from around 64kg to 59kg.

    I then gave up after my wedding and have put it all back on :/ so I am starting again. I am about 65kg and aiming for 59 again!

    First fast day of the week today. Currently eating my boring leafy salad (with the added bonus of some balsamic vinegar). Chicken soup ready as an afternoon snack, and more salad with some chicken for supper.

    It sounds like you have a good plan for your first FD.

    You obviously enjoyed success with this WOL last time so I hope that this time you can find a way to make this WOL a good match to your life that blends in seamlessly to help you to meet your health and other goals (like weight loss 🙂 ).

    Welcome back emilymeg. I’m relatively new to this WOL but enjoying it. I did weight watchers for years and got so tired of every day not having enough food. This is so much nicer! I have about 7 kgs to lose so pretty close to what you are looking to lose!
    Sorry about the boring salad! Once you get back in the swing of things there will be no such thing as a boring salad 🙂

    I wasn’t as organised this morning as I could have been, hence boring salad!

    My favourite supper on fast days is fishfingers and peas. Yummy! and fishfingers suprisingly low in calories but still almost feel like a treat.

    Absolutely new me. Make your salads delicious, not boring. Food has to be yummy if you want to do this as a lifestyle, ditto keep the weight off forever. I always put olive oil on my salad. I usually make my salads iwht other raw vegies. I sometimes add a bit of smoked salmon and often a bit of fetta cheese.

    On fast days i eat two meals along the lines of a spanish fis/seafood stew, and steamed then sautéed vegetables or a nice salad of mixed vegies or a yummy vegetable soup. I believe in being a gourmet dieter. I often follow recipes. And then adapt them. That’s how i discover interesting food.

    I rarely eat a plain lettuce salad with balsamic, fast or no fast.

    Newme, I don’t know what they make you do on WW but there is no reason to eat at 1200 calories when you are significantly overweight. I am close to goal now and still eating 1400 calories a day except on fast days and i don’t do much exercise either. I have just bought a pedometer to get me walking more and its got me working more as well.
