Hi everyone! Been on 5:2 for about 5 weeks. Haven’t really lose anything (that I haven’t gained right back) but I’m still hopeful. Looking forward to interacting with the community 🙂

Welcome Garmel!
There are lots of hints on these pages on what to do to kickstart your weight loss.
Just some tips on what I have seen posted here.
First of all, check to see that you are accurately counting the 500 calories on your fast day. Many use an app for this, rather than manually counting. Weigh and measure the food consumed. If possible, try to eat most of the calories on a fast day in one meal — either lunch or dinner.
Do a sanity check on the food eaten on non fast days. Should be about or just under your TDEE.
If all is OK there, try fasting 3 days a week.
Are you exercising? If you just started, it could take your body a while to start losing.
Hi garmel
I started out doing 5:2, eating less cals on fast days and being careful on non fast days. I was often a little frustrated by the minuscule loss so did 4:3 every other week; I found this helped.
I did fall of the wagon (my lack of will power and motivation) but I’m back and determined to keep going. 4:3 is definitely worth a try. I admire your willpower after 5 weeks and no loss! I have to say I felt better once on the diet and slept great which is what also looking forward to a second time around x good luck and we’ll done so far
Hi.. I’m also new to Forum & have been feeling a little despondent on the 5:2. Started 5:2 about 10 wks ago & initially lost around 9lb but now seem to be stuck. I have for around 2 wks been trying 4:3 to see if this will make a difference. I still seem to be stuck. I am totally committed to this diet as having tried every other popular diets & lost weight & money, then regained, I really want to prove the 5:2 works. My friends are following those other well known diets & the weight is dropping off them. I am currently going through the menopause & on HRT so don’t know if this is impacting.
