  • Hi,

Just joined the website, but I’ve been doing 5:2 since last September. My starting weight was 17st 11. Currently I am 15 st 10!
This is the first diet that I have been successfully been able to get below 16st in my adult life.
I absolutely love it because it allows you to live a normal life and therefore enjoy yourself at the weekend and still lose weight.
It has given me the discipline to give up the booze Monday to Thursday and that is much more healthy in many ways. I’ve always exercised fairly regularly 2-3 times a week for about an hour but the diet makes that work so much more effectively.
I would like to know more about the evidence regarding cholesterol level and also insulin control that the 5:2 diet claims to give. I work in healthcare sector and have a science degree so give me the evidence warts and all

    Cheers
    Mike

    Good luck!

    Welcome Mike!

Congratulations on the 2st loss. We’ll done to you!

I started only recently but if I am able to emulate your success, I will be thrilled.

Have you followed the scientific references in the book or were they not enough?
