  • Hello everyone,

I did register some time ago but promptly lost my login details so thought I’d try again !
After a visit to my new doctor about 18 months ago I was left in no doubt that I was heading for serious health problems – I weighed in at 17st 7lb and at 5′ 9″” I was seriously obese with blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol all heading towards the danger zone. Age 47 I had run out of time. The doctor’s solution was simple ……lose 5 stone and these problems will disappear ! I laughed in his face but promised to lose a bit.

I spent a few weeks losing half a stone, then went on a week’s holiday and came home at 17 and a half stone. Grrr.I had to try something different this time. I happened to read a review of the fast diet book, so decided to get a copy and give it a try.
Start day was 22 March 2013. Progress was initially rapid, slowing to a steady 1 or 2 pounds a week. At the 1year milestone I weighed 12st 8lb …..a lb short of the 5 st target. I have dropped to the 12 and a half stone mark a couple of times, but seem to have stuck in the 12st 7 lb to 12st 12 lb area. 4 months with no more loss.Still doing 5:2 to maintain, but would like a few more pounds off ! Best decision I ever made was to start this ” way of life”. Stick with it !

    Hi davidacross

Wow, david what a fantastic fast diet journey.

    WEIGH TO GO YOU!

That is the kind of story that can motivate people just starting out on their FD journey right down to others who have been following it for a good while.

Your weight loss has been hugely successful; how have your health markers improved?

    Hi BooBoo

All my health markers are at “normal” levels now and my arthritis in my knees has all but disappeared. I have lost 10 inches from my waist at the navel ! I’ve had to replace my wardrobe twice and have never been so happy to spend the money. I’ll post more about the ups ad downs later.

    Dave

wow, that is an amazing loss! well done. This way of life really is life changing. I’m 6 months in and have lost 46 lbs, taking my bmi from 33.3 to 25.6. I still have a little way to go – maybe when I reach a year I’ll be where you are. 🙂
