  • Week 1 – 2 fast days under my belt
    Loss: 700gm (1.5 pounds)

The first fd went well without any hitches or should I say, any extra nibbles. The lack of food didn’t exhaust me so that I had to take to the sofa, in fact I felt quite energized. I think that being a little excited with starting a new regime gave me that extra mindfulness needed to get me through the day.

The feast days were up and down with treats being taken when really a little self restraint should have been given. This included Italian fresh fig ice cream, home made double choc chip cookies, extra large bag of super crunchy crisps to name a few. Need to work on this!!!

Half way through the week I was unlucky to have a UTI. I’m not sure if it’s the anti-b’s or the actual UTI but i’m not feeling particularly tickety boo. Also not being able to take any exercise as I need to be near the loo due to drinking so much water. Yuk!

    The second Fast
My heart and mind wasn’t really up for day two. Feeling a bit blah!!! Although the morning went well with a substantial breakfast:-
mushroom, spinach and onion 3 egg white omelette, greek yogurt dressing with paprika…all this for under 150 cals, not bad considering the quantity of food.

    Lunch was good,
cuscous with roasted vegetables…but then I started picking at the kids meals, a little nibble here, a chomp there.

Luckily I still had spare calories, but I must address this picking busines as its a major part of why I am this weight, some 10kgs extra baggage that I carry around with me daily. My husband would say that I don’t really eat much as my meals tend to be quite small-ish (sometimes!), but he doesn’t see all the extras going in between meals. And there are many!

weigh in day…Im happy, I will take that loss with pride. It wasn’t hard going, I ate pretty much what I wanted for 5 days, hardly any exercise taken due to being under the weather. Yep 700gms loss is good in my book considering.

    Note to oneself:
    – It doesnt have to be all or nothing ( I can be a throw the towel in kinda gal if its not 100%)
    – water might have been a very helpful friend this week….keep it up!

But you lost…..that’s good despite the nibbles

    Keep it up 🙂

thanks Lillythepink….I am still feeling pretty good and I’ve been on track with my calories for the feast day too. It’s not actually a feast day for me as I still have to keep track of calories, or thereabouts, as I can if let loose eat some major big time extra calories.

When is your next fast day?

Week 2 – 4 fasts under my belt
    this weeks loss = 600gms (1.3lbs)

    total loss = 1.3 Kgs (2.8lbs)

Had my birthday this weekend and there was lots of feast day treats. Lots and lots!!!

I’m loving how the fast days make me feel the day after, refreshed and clear. After I had a day of pure birthday indulgences I felt heavy and ratty. The price you have to pay for eating pure junk!

Starting a new job this week so there has been lots of running around to do. Hope that I can keep it together and continue the 5:2 ….I’m impressed with how this is working and making me feel.

Hi CeeCee, I would like to join you on your 10kg quest. That is the exact amount I need to loose to be at the weight I was last year (and to fit into all my clothes again). I have completed my first 2 fast days this week which I did consecutively as I thought I’d get them out of the way. Felt fine during them as well. I haven’t weighed yet but I’m planning on tomorrow.

    Hi CeeCee and 10kgsbegone,

I’d like to join you also. I have 10kgs to be gone too… I just posted this below under another heading and have committed to posting every Thursday night so i stay on track. If you don’t mind i can post here and we can keep each other accountable… What do you think?

Anyway my post for the week…

I Have felt very proud of myself this week – wavered a few times but generally did well to plan and stay on track. I’ve worked out the few hours before dinner are when I cave in for something quick… If I am honest i have probably been eating hundreds of calories worth of munchies before I’ve even sat down for dinner!!! This week have been eating healthy cut up veg on my way home for work and that takes the hungry edge off! … there is a busy weekend of socialising coming up, but I will commit to being mindful about what I am eating.

    Stats for week 2

    Weight start 76kg wk1-75.5kg wk2-74.8 (goal only 9.8kgs away)
    BMI 27.7 wk2-27.5
    Waist 83cm wk1- 82 wk2-81
    Hips 102 wk1- 102 wk2-102
    Arms 29 wk1- 29 wk2-29
    Chest 93 wk1- 92 wk2-92
    Legs 58 wk1- 57 wk2-57

This weekend i will plan for the week ahead and make sure the fridge is full of healthy foods that I can cut up, and go :). Until next week… Gx

Fantastic work Skinny2014! Your weight loss spurs me on. I am at a start weight of 77kg and I hope to maintain at 67kg. Fingers crossed I’m down tomorrow. Checking in weekly is a great idea I will try and check in on Fridays as that is my weigh in day. Good luck for the weekend!

Would also like to join you in the 10 kilos quest!!
I started 5:2 seven weeks ago with 74 kilos and a BMI of 27,2
So far I have lost 3,9 kg. Sunday is my weighting day.
I have several goals. First I would be happy if my weight will start with a 6 🙂
Then I want to get a BMI below 25 and my big goal is, to get a weight of 60 kilos.
So at the moment 10 kilos to go!!

So today I weighed myself after a week of 5:2 and 2 days of pretty bad eating (I have binge eating tendencies I need to fix) and have still dropped to 76.4kg! That’s a 0.6kg loss this week. Now I must remember to stay on track this weekend! Have a nice healthy weekend everybody!

Hi, I would love to join you all too on a 10kg quest. Ultimately I think I’d like to lose around 13ykg, but 10kg would get me to lower than I have weighed in around 20 years!

    I just posted this elsewhere:
Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum and the fast diet. I have just completed my third fast day. I’ve found them relatively easy so far. I think I’ve lost around a kg so far. My weigh in day is Wednesday and I was 70.7kg last weigh in, I would ideall love to get to around 58kg. About 2-3 years ago I managed to get from about 84kg to around 64kg on a low fat vegan diet, but since then with a few emotional struggles in the last year or so I have yoyo’d up and down.

I really like the idea of this diet as it seems to work psychologially, ie. it’s only one day I can do it. Also I’ve found if I’m hungry on the fast day evenings I start thinking about everything I can eat the next day. But then I wake up feeling good from fasting and my stomach feels flatter and I just don’t want to indulge in all the foods I’d been dreaming about!

I’m finding holding off eating until around lunchtime is working and having a small lunch and dinner. I do have a few cups of tea during the day with a little unsweetened soy milk to stave off hunger pains.

I’m hoping to be able to lose a good chunk of the weight I want by October as I am planning a holiday around then 🙂

Oh and I’ve found I’ve been a little tired these first few fast days. Not too bad but enough that I’ve noticed it and had a little brain fog too. Has anyone else experienced this at the beginning and does it go?

Hi! hope you don’t mind me joining in on your quest? it is great to see all your positive vibes 🙂
I started my quest on the 20th of Jan at 81kgs. I have had ups and downs but this morning have weighed and am at 73.4 … so 7.6kgs down!!! I cannot believe it! I have tried so many things in the past, but this just seems to work, and it is so easy and simple!

My original goal was 10kgs in 5 months (by 20 June) … I’m now hoping to hit the 60’s by this day (so a bit more of a stretch than the original 10kgs) but I think I can do it.

So in joining your quest for 10kgs, I’ll base it on last weeks weight of 74.6, which will get me to my ultimate goal of 65kgs!

phew … sorry for the long post – but there’s my 5:2 quest in a nutshell.

    k

Would like to join the 10kg quest. Starting today – Day 1, Week 1.

How is everyone going on there fasting days and weight loss journeys? I’m currently doing my second fast day for week 2. I am yet to weigh in this week but I’m definitely feeling healthier and slimmer. I’ve found my binge cravings have diminished and I’m making healthier choices on my feast days. Hope everyone’s sticking to this WOE!

Hey 10kgbegone, sounds like you’re going great guns! I have done 4 fast days now and my next one is tomorrow. I’m not looking forward to it that much as I’m feeling a bit hormonal right now, but hopefully I’ll get through it ok!

It was my weigh in today, last week I was 70.9 and today was 70.1. I’m happy with that considering how bloated I was feeling today!

Now to get through tomorrow! I might have to save some calories for a square of chocolate!

    Hello,

But you lost…..that’s excellent despite the nibbles
carry on and in my opinion green vegetable is the best for health and paleo diet food is also good for health.

    Keep it up everyone 🙂
900g gain for me this week, not sure why but determined for it to be gone next!
Take care all and have a fabbo week.
    K

Hi everyone. One of the main reasons I want to be apart of this group is so I am accountable of my dieting and eating. So I have been extremely bad with binging these past 4 days. I have eaten over 3000 calories each day which has definitely offset any fasting done. I’m planning on doing 4:3 this week to try and start loosing again. I feel so dumb and guilty.
    Weight loss is as follows:
    Week 1 – 77kg
    Week 2 – 76.4
Week 3 – 75.9 (although after binging I am now up to 76.7kg).
Goal for this week is to get to 75kg or lower.
Good luck everyone! Your support means the world!

    Hi 10kgbegone,

I haven’t visited for a while. The whole point of my posts was like you say to stay accountable. I have been doing okay no change for the last week, but am still committed.

It’s so hard when life gets in the way! Reviewing the last couple of weeks i realise i have not been as committed. I need to give myself a Shake of the shoulders and get back in focus. I am going away in July… Yes to somewhere lovely and warm and would like to be anywhere in the 60′s.even 69.99!.. I feel and look pretty good around there.

This weekend will be tough.,, we had dinner out last night, I have friends over for dinner tonight, and out tomorrow for drinks and nibbles!!! Fun fun fun, but temptation is everywhere. I must think just stick with it and stay focused…. Monday is a new week right?

Lets get back in focus this week and blitz it. Commit to no bingeing this week 10kgbegone, just one week. I’ll hold you to it and check in with you next Thursday you’ll be back on board… Our stats are pretty similar… Just think how great you will feel when you are at your goal, self esteem, confidence everything will soar…. Lets do it, just one day at a time!

    Gx

    Good luck to everyone!

I am also on a quest to lose 10kg! So far i have had two fast days this week (today is one of them, so hungry right about now!!)

I lost 20kg last year on this diet in 22 weeks so i KNOW it works for me, but since gaining 9kg back again.. I’m back on a 5:2 mission all over again :)but looking forward to the challenge.

Hi 10kgsbegone… How have you gone this week?

I have to admit to having a shocker this week, while cals were okay and not too high i did not fast once for one reason or another…. Yikes! I have penned in to fast next tues and Thursday as I know it will not be possible any earlier. Sometimes i think you just have to do what you can do, and sometimes it may not be ideal but you have to accept it for what it is.

My weight increased by 500grams this week…

Check in so i know your are still in this with me… Glenys 🙂

Keep at it guys … I’m weighing tomorrow. I have been really good all week, but have a feeling the scales won’t reflect that 🙁
Glenys, I’m sure you will smash it next week and that 500g will be gone.
    Take care all
    K

Down just 100g. Happy but a little disappointed. I know I shouldn’t be, but I ate clean all week, did everything by the book and managed to squeeze in some extra sessions at the gym. Was just hoping for a little more … I’ll snap out of it and repeat next week and hope for better. Least it is in the right direction, right?!
How did you all go this week?
