  • Day 6 North Canton OH FD

Posting a bit late, and I felt my fat weeping today(hunger pangs) but I am soldiering on 🙂

daffodil and strawberriesandcream, thanks for the encouragement!

BTW My scale weight has dropped 6.4 lbs so far.

    Day 6, Gozo Malta, fd

I’m fasting at around 800 calories. Tomorrow I’m fasting too.

    Good evening/night everyone.

    Day 6, UK, NFD

I checked my weight this morning after my FD yesterday and the scales showed the same, 55kg. Ah well, what can I say 🐢 . I feel slimmer though haha 😂

I decided I must have a glass of 🍷 tonight, after a very long time, and enjoying it 😀
@debster251 thank you for your kind wishes, its truly appreciated 😊 , I am trying my best 🙂

@Maayaa I hope you have a great vacation, keep us posted :D. I’m really interested to know about swimming with piglets, never even knew such a thing exists but sounds like so much fun 😀

I realised too late that I added myself to the pocket list yesterday unnecessary since i was already on it thanks to @at 😊

    Have a good day/evening everyone ❤

    2nd post

Quick update on my research into anti inflammatory foods. Very pleased to see that I already include a lot in my daily diet, (green leafy veg, red peppers, tomatoes, turmeric, ginger, tomatoes, broccoli amongst others),so just need to add a few more (especially nuts, blueberries, chia seeds etc).

I am going to look again at recent hints and tips regarding kefir and yoghurt making at home, and will also throw my eye over the blood sugar diet and the healthy guts diet. I know I have the guts diet on Kindle somewhere.

I do not want to go through that burning guts feeling that I had yesterday.
@annemarilyn, @metatauta I agree that it may have been too much garlic over the course of the weekend. I also do not want to eliminate garlic entirely from my diet as I want its health benefits, but I think I will give it a miss for the next couple of weeks and slowly reintroduce in clean form (ie NO MORE GARLIC BREAD or breaded garlic mushrooms!!!)

I have been informing my long suffering DH that change is about to come…..from now we are upping our anti-inflammatory food intake, no crisps allowed……dont go mad with snacks at the weekend…I need for him to get on board with this as he has put on a bit of a gut in the past 6 months.

And it will truly mean that “Together we are stronger”

    Day 6 – UK – FD

Had a really good FD (Total Cals 330) yesterday including doing a 90min Yoga class and did not feel hungry today on waking. Went for a short hike with 3 friends, only around 4km but included some height and this evening did a strong 50min High Impact Pilates class – had a small bowl of oven roasted vegetables for dinner (Total Cals today will be just under 600cals as I also had a large glass of home made milk kefir)

@strawberriesandcream @metatauta and @mjrbcd44 @penz – DD has told me she is taking me out for dinner for Mothering Sunday so I’ll be Alcohol free Mon-Sat instead this week!!!

@penz – I’m going to be extra 😇this week to make up for my 😈weekend…….
@coda – impressive that there are still 3 of you from the original challenge
@daffodil2010 – I have garlic in all my food – just love it and it apparently it helps to lower cholesterol levels because of the anti-oxidant properties of Allicin. It is also immensely beneficial to regulate blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Hope it is not the garlic that is upsetting your system but maybe you had too much?
@annemarilyn – was it you who started TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER???
@michelinme – At least you don’t need surgery to your wrist but so annoying still and a tooth abscess so self care and self love is definitely called for xx
@shinything – will be thinking of you 🤗
@redrockgirl302 – I used to love downhill skiing – went at least twice a year but have now stopped as OH not too keen anymore – protecting his legs for running!! and not as much fun on my own – went a couple of times with my DD but last time was around 6 years ago!!!
@camcd – isn’t it great that this WOL is helping you discover new healthy food options and widening your food knowledge and taste buds – Your OH may find himself enjoying some new tastes as you try new food…..
@debd12 – Welcome to this WOL and to these challenges – it provides lots of support and advice – You might find the following link by @simcoeluv useful:- https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/
5th March was your Day 1 but Day 5 of the challenge – it makes it easier for everyone if your Day matches the calendar ☺️Read my first post on Day 1 which tells you a bit about the challenge
@lilymartin – 🤗 Good to hear that you are back in the groove – totally agree with you that exercise is good for you both physically and mentally – I personally found it made a huge difference to me – I now do around 7hrs a week and just love it
@maayyaa – have a fab holiday – looking forward to hear about your travels
@bert1802 – great job with giving up give up soda and all forms of sugary treats for Lent and sticking to it and how good that you can see the difference it is making to your way of life already
@diana123 – so glad that the pocket list got you through a 40hr FD

“There is no elevator to success! We have to take the stairs and every now and then we have to pause at a landing in between each set of stairs!”

Daffodil2010, you may also want to investigate foods that are potentially inflammatory. For many people peppers and tomatoes are toxic. Other common toxic foods can be cow dairy, eggs, wheat, legumes and nightshade veggies like peppers, potatoes, eggplant and tomatoes.

I was tested (cyrex labs) and cow dairy, wheat, garbanzo beans, pumpkin and quinoa are no-no’s for me. When I cut out these foods I sleep better, have more energy, no cravings, less joint soreness and easier fat loss.

Today ended a cd at 1140 calories. Tomorrow is another day.

    Day 6 NFD Oregon USA

@basyjames loved the “felt my fat weeping/hunger pains” 😂

Yesterday ended ok (I originally thought I was about 800 cals, but discovered that the cadbury “buttons” I snuck in were less than I thought so more like 675. Still there was the one beer.

Today is sunny and bright out and I really should get outside and walk (or really run) but feeling a bit off for whatever reason.

    Too content to keep working…

Best to remember “old ways won’t open new doors!”

    Day 7 NZ NFD
Had a great FD on Monday until we had a dinner party with good home cooked food for besties who have moved to another city. I ate way more than 500 cals… And don’t forget alcohol’s empty calories. I’m OK at home but If there’s a delicious eating opportunity, I’m in… so had three small meals y’day plus an hour long walk up and down the hills. I’m back up in the 88s today. FD tomorrow.

Reading all the inspirational weight loss stories it’s easy to think that 5:2 is miraculous but it requires a journey of consistency and commitment. I really admire those who are up to maintenance and hope that I can get there one day.

In the meantime, to all of us, stay strong and let’s congratulate ourselves for going on the journey.

    Day 6, Guildford UK, CFD

    Working towards more weight loss!

I want to be a pocket person so WFD for 3 days. I am so jealous of you all pocketeers.

    B2B2B WFD

@daffodil2010 I just want to give you a big hug. If I had eaten all that garlic then I too would have jacuzzi bottom syndrome.

@basyjames fat also sings and wobbles.

    still Day 6

No, @at, I don’t believe I coined “Together we are stronger”. Not sure who did. It is one that reminds me of the benefits of this forum.

    Day 6 UK NFD

A good FD yesterday and a CD today – ending at just under 1200 cals. Before Christmas that routine was so easy, need the get back in the mindset. Tomorrow is really busy at work, then yoga so will be a FD.

@strawberriesandcream, I had my hair cut short yesterday, bit of a gulp and go for it. But I’m liking the new me! @at &@annmarilyn, wasn’t it it @okeydokey that coined the phrase – together we are stronger? Whoever it was they were right.

Looks like my OH may have found a part time job, I hope so as I think we need a more settled routine. It’s great having him home all the time and I haven’t picked an iron up or pushed a hoover around since December, but on my days off we are doing too many fun things that involve eating!,

Keep going everyone, good luck for tomorrow.

    Day 7…NSW Australia…FD
    Hi everyone. Just checking in.
Enjoy your day and bye for now!

    Day 7 Gold Coast CD

Yesterday was OK. I ended up having a few snacks, which I’m trying to give up, but managed to be satisfied with some fresh raspberries (yum) and cherry tomatoes fresh from the garden. I was still under 900 cals, even though I had some crazy cravings for non-specific carbs during the afternoon. I guess the sugar in the raspberries and tomatoes met the craving. I also had more water, so I’m sure than helped.

I was also happy that the scales were the same this morning – previously the day after a FD the scales went up, reflecting my over-indulgences that day. So holding steady feels like a big win. I’m actually looking forward to another FD tomorrow.

I’m really enjoying reading everyone’s stories – thank you for sharing. Wishing everyone well for a great Day 7.

Day 6 Sarasota. Florida NFD Tried a new restaurant today- tasty but too high calorie. I’ll have to adjust the rest of the week. Was too tired to swim today.

    ccco USA Day 6 FD
    Last Post

Had a good FD. Tomorrow I will do it again. My fasts are the 5:2 standard fare of 500 calories. Water fasting sends me off whack and into a binge, so far now I will do what works. I must be getting old. After my personal training, I couldn’t do a power walk. I was too tired. Not sure why but my food intact may have added to it. I love the phrase I read here today that hunger is my fat cells weeping. Every time I am hungry now, I will think of that! LOL Stay strong everyone and good night! 🙂

    Day 7 London UK FD

Had lunch with a friend at Rick Steins in Barnes today. Fantastic food. Fish, moules, panna cotta. Got to get organised for FD today. Feel things slipping away from me a bit.

Have a great Wednesday all. H

    Day 7 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD – day 3 of B2B2B

I had another good FD and added in some anti-inflammatory red pepper and tomato to my omelette. Finished with just one square of dark chocolate. Funny though, I had a very restless night. Now I am wondering was it the 85% cocoa chocolate square before bedtime? Or the red pepper? Time to listen to my body. I find this so interesting, I feel another obsession coming on 😆

Planning my 3rd FD today. Feel so much better and am down 4 pounds from Monday (but still in plateau land). I have not “gone” so hope this will make a difference.

@ccco sorry to hear about your family member with Crohns. It really is such a debilitating disease.

When I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease I was fresh out of college in the early 90’s and spending a year working in Germany with my then boyfriend, soon to be fiancé. No stress. But symptoms kept getting worse. We came home to Ireland and I spent the next few years getting tests and scopes and barium meals and all sorts of medication. No improvement. There was even talk of future surgery 😱.

Then the fiancé called off the wedding and eventually, being single again, I went off the pill. And within weeks I was much better. My specialist and doctors completely pooh-poohed my suggestion that the pill had anything to do with my Crohns.

Goodness, I haven’t thought about this in years. What are we putting into our bodies?

For research sake I have just looked up the brand name and the Patient Information Leaflet and it now clearly states that a rare side effect of this pill is “Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis have been known to occur”……..twenty years later and I am vindicated 👍. And thank God I listened to my own body, and am now free of Crohns.

@diverdog thanks for that list of potential inflammatories 😁. So tomatoes, peppers, eggs can be both anti-inflammatory and potentially inflammatory. I rarely have wheat, potatoes (even though I am Irish 😄) and never eggplant. Right, I will step forward slowly on this new journey. I know if I have raw pepper it repeats but cooked is good. My DH was tested a few years ago and cow dairy is highly toxic for him, followed by kidney beans, then wheat. So a chilli con carne loaded with cheese on a wheat tortilla is dynamite for him 😳

@rainbowsmile. Love that “jacuzzi bottom” phrase 😆. Hug appreciated and returned my dear 🤗

    @daffodil2010 Day 3 of B2B2B

    Day 7 – UK – Reading – FD

A successful FD yesterday, so am trying another one today. I’m at target for the week but as soon as I start eating normally again my weight will go up, so trying to get a bit ahead. Everyone seems to be doing really well at the moment.

Day 7, London, UK, FD (2nd of B2B2B)

I’m definitely not drinking enough water, my skin is dry, as are my eyes. My greatest weight eradication happened when I combined fasting with some serious dragon drowning 3+ Litres per day. I’ll try harder, the weather doesn’t help, so herbal teas will hopefully do the trick!!!

@diverdog, I’m applauding as I type (?) It actually sound like torture!!! I think I would have had to be completely unsociable and lock myself away, or banish the guests to the garden, or if I HAD to sit at the table I would have had to use handcuffs – definitely NO touching, a gag – certainly NO tasting, a blindfold – we DO eat with our eyes! & a nose clip – the smell alone would break me ………… ………………. I suppose I would also request everyone ate very, very, very quietly!!!!

@maayyaa, your itinerary sounds fantastic, have a great time!!!

@at, I love the quote, clearly I’m catching my breath on one of those landings, still going up the stairs though!!!!!!

Good luck @rainbowsmile, I think @diverdog could have joined you in that pocket; but he may be 1 day ahead of you. I’ve only done single WFDs maybe I’ll work up to B2B-WFDs, after-all I never thought B2B2Bs would be normal for me, but here we are!!!!

@saffy420, I’m with you; Xmas derailed me so profoundly, what was easy before suddenly became impossible and almost like I’d never done it before!!!! I estimate it’ll take ‘til the end of April to get back in the groove, it’s just Sooooooo hard at the moment, don’t get me wrong, I’m doing ‘it’, but it’s hard!!!!! Who invented Xmas anyway???????

@daffodil2010, I think we 5:2-ers are all of a certain ‘type’ ……………………….. “I find this so interesting, I feel another obsession coming on 😆”………………………. Hmmmm, I say this to myself ALL the time!!!!

Keep the faith people, remember ……………………….

“Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill

I know the ‘F’ word is banished, but I can forgive Winston!!!!

    Day 7, UK, NFD
77.5kg. Yesterday’s FD nded up aound 950 kcal. I’ll take that considering my history with B2B. Feel like I’m about 1/2 stone higher than I want to be at this time of the week (another FD coming up tomorrow).

Update: my normal weigh-in day is Monday, and according to the tracker, with the exception of the Xmas / New Year week, I’ve now checked in in the 75-80 range consistently since November 13th. Wish it could have been a range 5kg lower, but I’ll take it for now.

Day 7 Newcastle UK FD 🇬🇧.
Second FD I might even do 3 this week.

    Day 7, Newcastle, NFD

@saffy420, @metatauta – my hair was already short, it is now even shorter. Because I am totally grey (my hairdresser says people pay to have their hair coloured like mine – Ash Blonde apparently) and have deep laugh lines around the mouth (permanent wrinkles), my even shorter cut seems to have lifted my face. OH says it’s knocked years off me. Now does that mean I looked ancient before?…….better not go there……

Glad you got your wrist problem sorted out @michelinme – 8 weeks will fly by.

I am feeling ashamed at my total lack of commitment to my fellow dry winos last night. My apologies. The self-sabotage dragon visited with a vengeance. Must do better tonight when my friends are here for supper.

I’m really enjoying reading about Food Combining and how it can help with a whole host of medical problems. The basic guidelines are already having a good affect on my digestive system.

    Together we are Stronger.

    Day 7 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Interesting that many of us are researching and experimenting with different foods this month. I’m not eating meat this week as I’m following the guidelines of Longo’s Longevity Diet in preparation for doing the 5 day fasting mimicking diet (FMD) next week. Longo’s research suggests positive health benefits so I’m going to give it a go…….maybe a little March madness but maybe it will give my immune system a boost……we’ll see.

Have a great day everyone 🙂

    Day 7, Hampshire UK

FD for me today, but really struggling as I have a migraine.

I’ve already taken paracetamol (before I realised it was a migraine) so I can’t take any co-codamol until the paracetamol is out of my system! Normally in that situation I would take some asprin on top of the paracetamol, but today I can’t do that either as I have an empty stomach!

So I now have to grind it out until 1300 today when at last I can at last take some co-codamol. Worried the migraine will be really set-in by then, which is tricky when I have a mountain of work to get through and my eyes have gone weird!!

But I MUST stick to my FD today! I also need to get a 3rd FD in on Friday, so I must stick with my FD today or I won’t be able to get 3XFDs in this week.

Aggh – hate it when feeling unwell gets in the way of the best laid plans!

Sorry to moan, but do feel a bit better now I’ve written this as I feel like I’m not the only one battling!

    Day 7……Florida……. FD

I’m envious of those who have taken the big leap and went on to shorter hair styles. My hair length is currently well past my bra line and I’m a bit afraid of even going in for a trim. Last time, I went in the young lady cut the sides of my hair about 6in short than my back.
Since starting 5:2, my hair and nails grow like there is no tomorrow, for years I wore it sholder length but it getting so long and fuzzy on the ends.

Today, is another FD for me…….so will have to see how it goes!

Well…… it’s about that time again……. being an adult I’d getting pretty old! Why or why did I hate do nothing and taking naps……. it sounds like such a treat right now that I can have!

When someone yells stop, I don’t know if it’s in the name of Love, it’s hammer time or I should collaborate and listen!

    Day 7 UK CD

Yesterday’s CD wasn’t so much, being my dd’s birthday. At least she came to lunch so we ate home made soup with a fresh oat seedy bread & salad, & shared a gf paleo chocolate mug cake with ff greek yogurt & lime and frozen blackberries. Yum. I suppered on leftover salad with cottage cheese, which I’m fast becoming addicted to.

Today I’ve got a wrist splint but can’t type in it and it’s already irritated my skin. I can see this is going to be a pretty difficult ten days as I adjust – along with dental abscess & feeling sick from the antibiotics. I was already juggling a backlog of emails and project work, a crucial report writing deadline and a several community commitments. Definitely time for yoga & meditation to get my head into a good place, carving good boundaries and practicing self care.

On the subject of food & inflammation, I’ve cut out several foods for the last few years in an effort to reduce joint pain & not be zonked on painkillers. Tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peppers, aubergines, wheat and gluten are the main ones. I can sometimes get away with a little but mostly i’ll really notice an increase in pain and fatigue when I have them. I think gluten is the worst- causes burning guts and brain fog. I’ll be really interested in what you learn @daffodil2010.

Hope you all have a good day

    Day 7 USA (Illinois) NFD

Yesterday’s FD came in about 550 calories. That included my daily apple (for regularity – a good help someone on our blog suggested years ago). Big salad for supper. But then, like normal, I didn’t sleep all that well. But today ought to be just fine doing 2 meals on a 16:8.

Interesting reading the discussions of inflammation. I have had behind-the-knee pain that our Silver Sneakers instructor said is inflammation. She said ice and ibuprofen to help it. I hate icing, but it has helped. I also hate turmeric, so read other foods people posted with great interest. I know Aleve is also anti-inflammatory. Might try that.

Sunny and cold here this morning, but nothing compared to other places in the world. Hopefully we can make it through to spring in the USA!

    Onward and downward.

Day 7 North Canton OH FD#3 this week 🙂

    Day 7, NFD, US

Cheers to you, @Strawberriesandcream. I also self-sabotaged last night with a martini and red wine. I think my trigger was a dull day at work and someone had brought in bagels. I had one and I really think it was that bready, carb-load that cried out to be accompanied with red wine later that night. Lesson learned: stay away from bread products!! (I usually don’t have it during the day.)

I saw a great t-shirt the other day worn by a runner. It said “burning calories would be more satisyfing if they screamed as they burned”. I agree!

    Day 7 – UK – NFD

FD planned but turned into a NFD – 10,000 steps to local village for provisions (rather than car) so that was good but had breakfast, coffee and paper read whilst there!

FD tomorrow now making it a B2B as Friday also scheduled!

    Keep up the good work

    Day 7 Stevensville Maryland CNFD

Yesterday turned into a FD so I guess that was other B2BD. Just didn’t feel that hungry and listened to my body. Today will be a CNFD but still not feeling hungry yet. Still doing 16:8 everyday, so I will see how I feel at noon. DH gave me the biggest compliment last night and it felt so good as he never commented on the weight I had gained over the past few years. Our 17 year anniversary is this Friday and I am so grateful to have him in my life.

I might not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday.

Have a great day/night everyone and thank you for all the posting of your journey, it gives me strength to get through another day.

    Day 7 Oregon USA CD?

@strawberriesandcream,@penz,and @at I believe at @at is the only one truly staying in the dry pocket. The rest of us just keep falling out.I am going to try again to grab hold and pull myself back in. My self-sabotage started on day one and continues…and extends beyond alcohol I am afraid.

    @penz–loved the screaming calories shirt.
@flourbaby-I’m with you in sheer amazement at @diverdog. I don’t seem to have that “I’ll be happy to sit here and watch you all eat” switch. In fact I have been known to snap at my DH when he brings good smelling food around me on FD’S–especially in the evening! Yep,I am super lovely that way. 🤔

I don’t know what to think of my current mental state. I think because I am becoming obsessed about my side business stuff again I am losing focus on my weight loss goals?? Which is ridiculous. One has to be able to accomplish more than one thing at a time.

Anyways… going to aim for a 1000-1200 calorie day today to offset well over TDEE yesterday.

Still plugging along but that’s about all I can say…. plugging!!

Of course “old ways won’t open new doors”. This I know. ❤️

    ccco USA Day 7 FD

My FD went so well yesterday until evening when I dove into my Skinny Pop! I know I promised myself I wouldn’t buy that again but I broke down and did! 🙁 Today I will do this right! If anyone has a FD pocket list going, I would love to be on it! I haven’t read any posts yet, so I will as soon as I can! Stay strong everyone! I really wanted to feel my fat cells crying last night but they didn’t get a chance! LOL Maybe today!

    Day 7 – Massachusetts – NFD

Felt slimmer this morning. checked the scale and I am down another ~1.5 pounds! I am now at 122, and my goal for this month is to get to 120 and maintain. My stomach is feeling much better! I haven’t been following everyone’s posts – I’ve been so busy here wrapping up my work before leaving for a new job in a couple of weeks. Transitioning the people I am working with over to my project and finishing up last minute work has been exhausting! My last day is Friday, so once this week has passed I’ll be able to browse the posts once again.

Hang in there everyone and keep up the good work!

    Day 7 – USA – FD

@penz, love that quote…might consider getting a t-shirt made up with it, lol! Still attempting to get back in the 2FD a week groove…I know I can do it; I just have to go back to my FD list of foods I ate in the past and plan, plan, plan. Still dry since Sun. night and looking forward to Friday night’s break with a nice lager or two or three, lol.

    ccco USA FD DAy 7

I had to reply to your post, Daffodil! I am always amazed when doctors are so certain about things that are not really well known, such as drug side effects! I am so glad you saw that! Doctors need to listen more carefully to their patients. My sister and I both have mild brain damage as a side effect of two different drugs, my daughter has an enlarged as a side effect, and my son has chronic pancreatitis as a side effect. This is why I am so keen on seeing if we can find a healthier resolution through a better way like fasting!

    Day 7 – USA – FD
Second post: whoops, forgot to add myself to the list.

    Day 7, Gozo Malta, fd

It’s raining ☔️ this afternoon and we need the rain here in Malta and Gozo. The weather has got warmer already and I didn’t put on our woodburning stove or the air condition. My granddaughter and I went outside in our garden mid-morning to blow bubbles. Afterwards I told her stories from a bible book for children and she loved it. Then I went to pick up my son from school as he’s finishing early this month to prepare for his GCEs or MetSec as we call them here. He starts this month and finishes 26 May. It’s a stressful time for him.

I’m nibbling around five in the afternoon as I become so hungry. If I’m fasting today I’d better eat a fruit only this evening.

I seem to have been stuck on the same weight for three months now. I need to pay more attention to what I consume even on nfd days.

Anyway tomorrow is another day. Stay strong everyone as it’s worth it in the end and this wol really works. Have a good day/night everyone.

Loved your saying Flourbaby or should I say that of Winston Churchill. It motivates me. Thanks for sharing.

Day 7 Las Vegas Nevada WFD

Day 4 of my water fast. I still feel good with minor symptoms like less sleep, a little cramping and feeling colder (taking some salt for the cramping). My energy is OK and I’ve been doing normal activities like walking the dog and 30 easy minutes on the bike. I have a dance lesson today and we’ll see how that goes. I’m not physically hungry but the idea of eating something tasty is very attractive!

My scale weight is down 8 lbs. Blood ketones are up to 6.2 mmol which indicates strong fat burning. Technically I’m going to break my fast today by eating 3 oz of broccoli sprouts (35 calories) and 2 fish oil caps (25 cal). Why? because according to Longo cancer cells are weakened by fasting and broccoli sprouts are the #1 source of sulforaphane a very strong anti- cancer compound. Also body fat stores a lot of toxins. Rapid fat loss releases them. Sulforaphane is also a top notch detox agent.

Flourbaby, it actually wasn’t all that difficult to say no this time. I enjoyed the company and the delicious odors and told myself in a couple of days it was going to taste even better!

Daffodil2010, I believe eliminating the source of the inflammation is far more effective than taking anti inflammatories food or drugs. The best food anti inflammatory I’ve found is fish oil.

Day 7, Rocky Mountains, US, CD

    Day 7 Belfast NFD

I decided to do without sweets for lent and cut down on any other sugary products. So far, I’ve had no sweets, no deserts and cakes although I did have a couple of plain digestive last night. I’ve had a couple of wobbles, and seem to be eating a few more bags of crisps, but I’m getting there with that sugar dragon slaying!

    @diverdog – impressive … keep going!
@rainbowsmile – except that it’s not funny, the phrase ‘ jacuzzi bottom’ raised a laugh!
    @maayyaa – have a wonderful holiday
@michelinme – you’re really goi go through the mill at the moment.
@diana123 Those compliments are what this WOL is about. I hope you enjoyed the afterglow!
@metatauta – you CAN do it. I’m holding your hand across the water. Stay strong.

Remember: I didn’t come this far to only come this far. Have a good evening.

Day 7 – SW WA USA – NFD

    Day7 UK FD

According to MFP, my calorie intake for today is 501, woo hoo. Kitchen definitely closed. I had a couple of compliments in work today in the new hairstyle, and comments about my ongoing weight loss. I wanted to say what ongoing weight loss but thought of @bert1802 and her time last year on the plateau where her size went down but not her weight.

There was a massive chocolate cake in work today – triple layer and decorated with mini eggs and Creme eggs. It was made by a colleague to thank our team for the help we’ve given her over the past few weeks. What did I do? I didn’t partake but took myself to another office about 5 miles away before we started on it! That’s one way to resist.

I couldn’t go to yoga tonight as this cold has turned into a full blown chest infection. I sound like a wheezing tractor and energy level is less than nil. I’ll try to go twice next week.

Thursday tomorrow, almost the weekend. Keep strong guys.

    Day 7 – UK – CD

After B2B FD I had a great CD today and 3rd day alcohol free!
Pocket Winos AKA @strawberriesandcream @penz and @mjrbcd44 – I am still holding firm like @metatauta…….hoping to make it until Sunday i.e. 6 days………..no strong temptation as yet but still got 3 days to go…….

Just strained a batch of milk kefir and it’s now in the fridge ready for the next two days – I drink a glass daily and it has been amazingly good for my health @daffodil2010 it might be good for you to give it a try??? and if anyone is interested here’s two links that explains the benefits a bit more:- https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/318353.php

Had a brilliant yoga class this morning and eventually broke my fast mid afternoon with a cup of tea and a small slice of lemon cake (I was out helping with the group I volunteer with on a Wed afternoon, we had taken them out for a history talk followed by afternoon tea) and tonight I had a huge bowl of a lovely mixed leaves and vegetable salad with some smoked salmon (Total of around 1200cals for the day!)

@saffy420 – I think you might be right about it being @okeydokey – if you happen to be lurking about reading the posts pop in and say hello @okeydokey – we miss you on these challenges xx
@fivetwofan5252 – hope the migraine eventually went away and you manage to survive your FD 🤗
@leggit – sounds like you are doing a great job both with weight loss and wrapping up your work before leaving for a new job in a couple of weeks!
@diverdog – great will power – I have no doubt that you can do the 5 days

For those struggling with getting of a plateau or getting into some weight loss – my personal incentive has always been to to see this WOL as a bit of SELF LOVE – it’s something only I can do for myself and I’m doing it for me and nobody else, but my family and friends will hopefully benefit by having a healthy and happy me!

“If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now”

Day 7 – Atlanta, GA, USA NDF but a CD today
    Day 6 – NFD

So far i’m doing good but my biggest problem is the carbs i eat even though i never cross the calorie limit both on FD and NFD, but my weight loss is getting slower, is it because of the carbs i’m eating or is it just common? Any advise on where i should be improving, i run 3 & walk 3 days and do yoga for 3 more days and i always eat below my TDEE and track what i eat but still the scale is not moving down much though i feel good inside out, Thank You in advance for any inputs or suggestions.

    Day 8 Gold Coast FD

A good day yesterday, and I’m starting this fast day only .1 kg higher than the end of the last FD, so that’s a big plus. I can’t see a pocket list for today yet, so please either add me if I’ve missed it, or join me!
