  • Day 22 – Japan – NFD (HED Happy Eating Day!)

45 water fasts done in 2019 so far. My weight this morning was at 78.8kg taken at a comparable time to my lowest 76kg weight. However that was at the end of last summer too and I’ll probably trim down a bit in the heat. This morning I did 30 pull-ups and I’m slowly working at it trying to build up strength. Now I need to work on range of motion too.

While I admin people that can maintain a BMI in the low 20’s, I’m feeling well at a BMI of 26. Much better than when my BMI was 35! Ugh that is had to believe that I was there.

Day 21 Ohio, US — NFD (74 bites)

Thanks, all, for messages about grieving for my dog. I keep bringing to mind that old adage, “Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all,” even though the context is different.

@dykask 45 water fasts! That’s stupendous! For a good part of my life my BMI held steady around 22 and then came illness and it dropped down to 15.5. Now I’ve mostly recovered, but am struggling to get down to 24.9!

@michelinme Hope you’re recovering from that shock. Sung compline can be so beautiful and soothing. I have wonderful memories of singing “Phos Hilaron” at compline. (Modern English translation goes “O radiant Light, O Sun divine…”) Just reminiscing about it brings a sense of deep peace.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Day 21, Rocky Mountains, US, NFD

Big hike with Mick and DH (he took today off work because it was such an unusual cool day (17 Celsius) with sunshine and a cold breeze from the Northwest- perfect for hiking).

@ciren2: Doggie school yesterday went well. Now we have to continue training until our next class. Doing short training sessions three times a day.

    @matpi: Sending you hugs!❤🐕❤

Hope everyone had a good Summer/Winter Solstice! ⚘⚘⚘

    Day 22, Emden Germany, FD

@flourbaby I hope the procedure went well.

@rabbette thanks for the exercise link and for being such a great contributor.

@annemarilyn you’re doing so well on the Egg Fast.

    @michelinme congratulations on your ATL!

@redrockgirl302 nothing more calming than an animal next to you. How did the vet visit go?

@basyjames I had to smile reading about the whole family being exhausted.

@jaifaim and @michelinme I always had broccoli-chicken soup on my FDs but don’t like it as I used to. I’m not very motivated atm so decided to eat small portions of foods I really like on my FDs. I already found out it’s not that easy to keep the portions small enough to stay under 500 cals.

hi @keitii, I’m joining you today and perhaps @dingping will join us.

Starting the Day 22 pocket list and looking forward to seeing who else will join:

    @keitii
    @snowflake56

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 22: Gloucestershire, UK, NFD:
Very quick check-in, before work. Must wash up my breakfast things; don’t want DH coming down later to find a mess!
    I’ll catch up later.
    Bye for now xx

    Day 1 Devon UK
Wow Ciren2, day 22! I’m still trying to get a successful day 1 without giving in to temptation. I think I’m going to keep posting today to keep me focused on the task. Good luck everyone

    Day 22 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

    @michelinme & @missybear – awesome results!!

    Wishing everyone a good weekend

9 days to go – let’s make them count!

    Day 22 NFD Northumberland
Just checking in. I’m posting from a cottage on the beach with Lindisfarne in sight from my bedroom window. Spending a week with my sister and enjoying a bit of family time. Lots of giggles, love and fun, long walks along the beach with two beautiful doggies in the sunshine and plenty of good food. What more can a girl ask for? I don’t see my sister very often so it’s a special time.
I’m not fasting but am trying to be mindful (some chance – brother-in-law is such an excellent cook and the gin is plentiful!) but I shall pick up the pieces when I get home.

It’s funny. When my mum was alive I had a base in her house and kinda had two homes. When she died I lost my roots so to speak, and even though I’m from the south of England, coming here was like coming home. I love where I live, but I miss those beautiful English villages and the regular time with my sister. When I arrived I was filled with a deep homesickness that went to my core. That was fleeting, but still took me unawares. I guess it’s letting go of those last threads of childhood. Life moves on of course and my two boys are enjoying exciting times setting up their lives and making plans for the future, and they include us every step of the way, so I’m very blessed. Ireland has been my home now for 40 years, but I still get caught out sometimes! Forgive me for that reflection. Just needed to put it into writing.
Anyway, off to enjoy the sunshine and to walk the dogs.

    Stay strong everyone and remember:
I didn’t come this far to only come this far.

Day22 Herefordshire U.K. should be an FD! It will be an FD!!!

Struggling but will apply @funshipfreddie ‘s machismo approach and put my head down and push forward. Will keep myself busy with garden work, glorious blue sky morning here so not a bad day to be outside.

    Well done @keitii.

@xatie – you can do this, adding you to the pocket list as you sound like you could do with our collective support.

@michelinme – go gently, it can take awhile to absorb things.

@debster251 – sounds a special time, one to bank, what a beautiful and perfect place to find yourself reflecting on life.

Joining the Saturday fasting crew, thanks @snowflake56 for the shoutout!

Good luck all and well done to those blitzing June.

Hi Dingping, you sound very motivated to make today a great day. What’s the pocket list? Hi everyone, I’m still going towards day I haven’t been tempted away from plan yet. Yippee!! Dykask, that sounds very inspiring. Matpi, keep up the good work. Red rock girl, have a fab time on your hike. Snowflake, day 22, you all inspire me. Funshipfreddie, isn’t this wonderful, everyone connecting around the world. Debster, that all sounds wonderful.
    Everyone keep it up.

    2nd post

Hi @xatie – great you’re checking in regularly, I find it helpful on fasting days, hence me being back here now! Hope your day remains focussed and positive, you’ll feel so brilliant once you achieve success. A Pocket List is literally a list of people who declare they are fasting that day on the challenge. It gives many of us just an extra boost to know that others are doing the same thing, for me it adds an extra layer of accountability. The day at the start of everyone’s posts literally refers to the day in the month and not the number of fasts completed. You might find it helpful to look at the beginning page of this challenge which explains a lot about abbreviations used and the general format people use when posting.

Hope all Saturday fasters are staying strong .
    Ta x

    Day 22 UK NFD
Phew ! Body pump class very challenging this morning but good to get back to my usual routine Did a big shop this morning Lots of veggies and salad stuff

    Hi Dingping,
Thank you for all that. I’ll read through if I’m tempted by something to keep me distracted. Is the pocket list on this thread or another? Do people just say ‘I’m fasting today’ on this thread? Hope your day goes well.

Hi BrightonBelle, well done for getting your exercise in early! Enjoy those veggies and salad.

    Hi Xatie,
Welcome to this great international forum. You couldn’t be in a better place. A pocket list is basically a list of people who are fasting on that day. It is nice to know that you’re not alone, especially when things get tough so adding you name to the others can give some extra support. If you read the very first page, you’ll find a great introduction and a lot of hints and tips. Good luck in your journey.

    Day 22 USA (Illinois) NFD

Good Summer Solstice yesterday and International Day of Yoga in our town. Rain did not hold off, but our event went off without a hitch inside a banquet venue with a large open space. The hour of yoga, plus my Silver Sneakers in the morning, gave me a great day of exercise.

@xatie – welcome to our terrific group. You will find wonderful support here.

Hope to get back and read posts and comment later on.

    Onward and downward

Day 22 country West Australia NFD
    Day 21 NFD
    Day 20 NFD

@flourbaby and all others who have referred to the wagon .
After a plateau for SOOOOOOO long that I set up house there, I started falling off the wagon, then was clinging by a fingernail, finally gave up and jumped off. The wagon was well out of sight and I just thought ‘ oh well….’
Recently started running after the wagon and grabbed on and was holding on by just the fingernail of my little finger. Body bouncing along the track, it was a very unpleasant bumpy, bruising ride.
BUT I managed to hoick my knee up to the edge of the wagon.
So currently am hanging on for dear life ( and better health!) like they do in the cowboy movies.
A very visual person I now laugh at the image of myself being bounced along half on/ half off the wagon.
This past few days when I have felt like overeating I think of that mental image of me bouncing along on the road clinging to the wagon, with all my friends on board ,and it makes me determined NOT to let go of the wagon and NOT to give up.
So for all those doing it tough, we know what you are feeling, but as I said a few days ago please please please don’t give up.
This WOL/WOE really works and it takes work TO work.
Be kind to yourself and know that we are all on the wagon, or in it’s vicinity, to help you.
I have been drinking more water and exercising more since starting to post again and wow! it feels so good.
Will try for a FD tomorrow but church the out to lunch and out to dinner with friends so might be stretching it. We’ll see…
Have a good day/night all. Thanks for being here. You are the planks under my fingernails.😀

    Day 22 UK NFD

Quick weigh in this morning showed 142.5- 2.5lb down on the month & 2.5lb from my original goal. Yay!

Going gently today, glad to catch up with posts from yesterday
@matpi grief is grief, and the depth of it a reflection of the depth of love x
@dingping thank you-and for the reminder that some things take time to process x
@matpi thank you. I also love Phos hilaron. It’s been going round in my head all day today 🙂
    @funshipfreddie @snowflake56 thank you 🙂
@debster251 thank you for your lovely reflection on home – no apology necessary x
    @jaifaim hope it’s a good weekend, tho a difficult one x
    @missybear congratulations!!

Tomorrow is lunch out with DD, close family & her new BF. Staying away from alcohol bc tired, project stuff to do and meetings Monday am. What could possibly go wrong?

    Onwards! 🙂

@xatie: Good to see you here. Don’t for a moment think that (for me) day 22 means I’ve stuck to the 5:2 for 22 days…believe me, I haven’t done a single fast day yet!! It’s just the day of the month, Day 22 because it’s the 22nd June. One of the rules of these challenges.
@redrockgirl302: So what did young Mick learn at his puppy class? I imagine the first thing must be the recall…getting him to come when called, right? I’ve never actually been to a dog training class…sounds great. Good for socialisation.
@michelinme: You’re doing well…have a good weekend with your family xx

Day 22 – Eastern WA USA – NFD

Today is my first transition day after 5 days of the Egg Fast. I’ve gone down several pounds and want to try to keep them off as I transition back to keto eating and fasting.

So enjoyed a walk yesterday evening on the summer solstice. I drove out of my tree lined neighbourhood to an area that had a wonderful walking path and view of the valley and open sky. The colours were soft last night and the skies interesting with some lovely wild flowers, grasses and shrubs in the foreground. I was amazed at the wonderfully friendly folks that were out walking and many also trying to get some sunset pictures. It was a little cool for the first day of summer but still lovely!

@songbirdme – thank you for the link on some of the benefits of fasting. I’m going to share the link with my son, letting him know that one of the reasons I’m fasting is to protect my brain against degenerative diseases. My mom is suffering from dementia and he has expressed that he hopes I won’t have to deal with that. It’s hard to watch a loved one disappear as it were due to dementia…

@debster251 – enjoy your special sister time! Glad you felt free to share some of your reflections 🙂

@lilymartin – glad you’re bouncing along with the wagon! The journey is definitely not always smooth. But if we stick with it we’ll get there! 🙂

Okay, need to get out if I’m going to catch a Farmers’ Market!

Enjoy the weekend fellow forum friends!

Day 22 Ohio, US — MFD

Ack! I just spent half an hour typing up today’s log and the site just through me back to the sign in page and I lost everything.

I’m all tired out now, so I’ll just sign off. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Day 22, Rocky Mountains, US, NFD

Late check in. Have to read posts later.
Another very busy day. Vet (eye specialist), Petsmart, grocery shopping, éclairs shopping. Naughty but the French patisserie is closing for vacation for 6 weeks. 😊😜😝 Then another big hike with the doggie. Now chilling and soon off to bed.

Hope everyone had a good Saturday! ⚘⚘⚘

    Day 23, Emden Germany, NFD

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 23 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

Quick check in as loads to do today and it’s only 7.30am.

I am pressing a big reset for tomorrow and will take on board @funshipfreddie‘s masochistic approach and just DO IT.

@lilymartin loved your post re the wagon 😆

Can’t believe it’s the 23rd already. Yet another month that I won’t make my goal. Oh well. Oh, and I will soon set up the July thread to get us all ready for another month.

    Day 23 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@debster251 – I found your post quite poignant. No matter how old we get, or where we live, our parents’ house is always ‘home’ somehow. I had to sell my parents’ house a couple of years ago after losing my Dad. The last time I saw it, knowing strangers would soon be living there; it all just seemed so final. A nice young family eventually bought it, at least. The circle of life…

I’m busy reading the thread, ‘Has anyone hit a weight plateau?’ I guess I haven’t really hit one yet, compared to the months on end some people talk about. More like a snail’s pace. But I’m just curious as to what people do when it happens.

Can you believe this time next week will be the last day of June?! I’m going to give this last week everything I’ve got; ramp up the exercise and be more vigilant on NFDs 🏋️‍♂️. It would be nice to finally reach maintenance.

    Happy S☀️nday!

    Day 23 UK NFD

    Day 23: Gloucestershire, UK, NFD:
@lilymartin: SO good to see you hanging on…join me in this particular club! I say that it’s good to just hang around on this forum near the successful fasters, so that, one day, we join them, right?
@songbirdme: Today is the day we sing in the choir (Ave Verum Corpus has been practised, briefly) for the First Holy Communion. I’m off for a final rehearsal in a very few minutes. There are only around five or six of us, so every wrong note will surely show, but…hey-ho.
@matpi: That is SO ANNOYING…..it’s happened to me more than once. I try to remember to check I’m still logged in before posting….also I avoid going back to edit, as I’ve often lost posts that way too.

    Day 23 – Ireland – NfD

Hi all – well after two Gloriously sunny days the rain has come here…
welcome Xatie! As others have said if you read the posts that @penz posted on the first page of this thread most of your questions will be answered but any other queries just ask… we’ve all been there .. starting out… good move 👍
thanks @michelinme! It can be tough sometimes but we had a really lovely sunny smiley day yesterday… they are such a tonic for us all… the ☀️ really helps in that regard.
@annemarilyn I’m with my mum who has Alzheimer’s this weekend… I’d love to think that there are steps we can take now to avoid suffering this terrible disease in the future.. 🙏
@debster251 your post really resonated with me… I completely understand your grá for English villages… my man is an Englishman and they really don’t do villages anywhere better than the UK in my opinion. Also, my parents live in a beautiful part of Southern Ireland and I dread the day that that’s not my second ”home “ anymore…
@ciren2 I’m sure you will do really well today 👍
Getting up soon after two early starts Friday and Saturday and meeting a pal for coffee and a rainy walk…
    Have a good Sunday everyone!
    Onward and downward ⬇️
We rise by lifting others 💕

    DAY 23 – UK – NFD
DAY 22 – FD500 – Travel Day back to the UK!

Well all good things must come to an end – after a marvellous week on Ithaca for a Yoga Retreat I got back home around 9pm yesterday and slept wonderfully well – 2 hours of active yoga in the morning and 2 hours of more restorative yoga in the evening 🙏 and lots of wonderful memories created!!!

This morning weighed in at 55.1kg – very happy with that as down from my last weight check on 11/6 of 56kg

Took OH out for coffee and scones this morning – it’s his birthday today – it’s a beautiful warm and sunny day here so making the most of it.

The garden is gorgeous at the moment – came back to lots of lovely roses blooming and my second crop of rhubarb for the year nearly ready to collect. The blackcurrant and gooseberry bushes are also nearly ready – such a great welcome back home!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend – no time to catch up on the posts but I’m right back with this WOL with another FD tomorrow 🤗 to all you lovely people

    Day 23
    Florida
NFD @redrockgirl302 thanks for you comment. While I’m seemed to be feeling better, will have an MRI done on Monday. It’s hard to believe I may have some serious things wrong when I feel fine. Hoping it will be just a fluke.
I’ve been able to maintain under the 170 mark. 🙂 Trying to keep it going. The heat is on so staying inside much of the time.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Day 23, Rocky Mountains, US, NFD

Soon off for another hike with our wonderful doggie Mick! 🐕❤😊

@snowflake56: Vet visit went well. He is healthy except for his right eye. Recommended to have it looked at by an eye specialist. We went there yesterday and it turns out that he is blind in his right eye. He got it injured at some point in his life as a stray. We have to have it checked every 3 months for a year because of glaucoma danger. Then every 6 months. His other eye is perfect and he can live fine with the sight of one eye. ❤🐕❤

@ciren2: It is clicker training with positive reinforcement. First he was taught ‘Automatic Focus’, ‘Hand Target’ and ‘Sit’. All with hand signals, no verbal cues, and treats. We practice every day for a short periods. Next week class focuses on leash skills and loose leash walking. 🎓🐕🎓

    @debster251: Beautiful reflection! 💐

Have a great Sunday everybody! ⚘⚘⚘

    Day 23 UK NFD

Checking in for accountability. Either stomach bug or I must have eaten something off yesterday… gut pain all night and upset stomach this morning. I would have stayed home but rare family lunch

Drank SO much water today – maybe 4.5 litres? Made it out this morning for church and family lunch. Skipped cake, pudding and alcohol in favour of lots of water and little food – but had a lovely time with family 🙂

Just tried on my first size 10-12 in 15 years and they actually fit – albeit PJs! Going bed v early – full day tomorrow and there’s no such thing as too much sleep 🙂

Article in today’s paper about studies into individual nutrition included the ideas “food labels – can account for only 40% of how an individual might respond to meals” Fascinating stuff. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/jun/23/eat-more-avocado-what-i-learned-from-the-study-that-will-change-how-we-eat

    Day 23 USA (Illinois) NFD

Managed to not overeat the treats I brought to church this morning for coffee hour. Yeah for me! Shared an egg/sausage casserole, 2 coffee cakes, cheese & crackers. Yeah.

@ciren2 – was it the Mozart “Ave Verum Corpus” that you sang? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXjn6srhAlY
I love Mozart’s vocal/choral works, better than his operas or orchestra pieces. Piano stuff is also nice too. Hope you survived singing it! 🙂

@at – your yoga retreat sounds marvelous! I am sure it was very memorable.

@michelinme – Very interesting article. Gut health is fairly new to me, and I am just discovering the joys of avocados. Just fixed a recipe that hollowed out an avocado, mashed the ‘meat’ then mixed it with cooked chicken, cream cheese (I used Laughing Cow wedges), some tomato, and shredded cheese. Mound that back into the avocado shell, bake, and eat. There are several low-carb recipes out there that add other ingredients and spices too.

    Onward and downward.

    Day 24 – Japan – WFD #46/2019

Rainy day and I’m sore from pullups on Saturday. So I probably won’t workout today.

    Day 24, Canberra, FD

Oh I’m such a bad host. I did not log in at all over the weekend and did not even venture out of my PJs yesterday. Talk about lazy and self-indulgent. FD for me today! How was everyone’s weekend?

@annemarilyn sounds like you had a wonderfully controlled Party Trolley night out.
@michelinme: congrats for the ATL! I wouldn’t ordinarily recommend a binge for a woosh but in your case it worked.

@keitii – you’ve hit your goal early for the month! Still a week left in the month – are you setting yourself a new downward limit?

Hello @xatie – please post often! It really does help to keep one on track.

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend @debster251. Funny what “home” feels like.

@lilymartin – you’re showing great grit and determination. Hopefully that wagon will soon become a smooth comfortable limo ride.

    Happy birthday Mr@AT!

Mick is lucky to have you @RedRockGirl.

    Day 24 pocket list:
    @penz
    @dykask

    Day 24 – Brisbane – FD

Had a good weekend. Stuck fairly well to my calorie limit but did finish the weekend off with a big family dinner. Enjoyed cooking up a vegetable lasagna and trying out a new soup recipe with vegetables & lentils, flavoured with cumin and tumeric. Simple and delicious. My walking partner friend shared the website with me and I look forward to trying out more recipes over the coming weeks. If anyone is interested, here is a link to the soup recipe (although I realise those in the northern hemisphere are probably not interested in soups at this time of the year!).

@penz – yes, I will try to lose another half kilo in this final week of June. I have a trip to Hobart planned for two weeks from today and would love to be a kilo lighter by then. I can’t remember the last time I lost weight in winter but, thanks to this forum, I am breaching new territory!

Love the commitment of everyone over the month and look forward to finishing strong with you all!

Day 23 Ohio, US — NFD (86 bites)

This NFD saw a little experiment for dinner: some fettucine, olive oil, and garlic. The experiment was to see my body’s reaction to the garlic, in particular. I did have a reaction, and had some extra food, but was able to bring things under control by taking some pulsatilla. I had forgotten how effective that could be with some food allergies.

@michelinme Hope you’re feeling better. Sounds like your body wanted to flush some toxins out of the system by using that water.

@redrockgirl302 It appears that Mick is quite the hiker. That’s a great way to smooth out a younger dog’s energies.

@at There is nothing like fresh rhubarb. When I was a young boy we had a large family garden with lots of rhubarb every spring. My mother would stew it for breakfast, and also make pies for dessert. Surprisingly in the rural area where I now live, none of the restaurants carry any rhubarb pie, even the home-cooking Ma & Pa restaurants. Come to think of it, it’s been years since I’ve had any rhubarb at all.

Have a great start of the work week!

    Day 24, Emden Germany, NFD

@redrockgirl302 I’m glad Mick is doing so well.

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 24: Gloucestershire, UK, NFD:

The singing went really well yesterday, there were seven of us in the end. Everyone listened attentively and the priest heaped praise on us!
@songbirdme: yes it was Mozart…a beautiful piece, all in Latin. I loved singing it.
@michelinme: I hope you’re feeling better today. And congratulations on getting into size 10-12!
Got to go to work now.
    Bye….

    Day 24 – Melbourne Aus – FD

Massive day of EFS yesterday, and feeling it today. Still in a massive slump exercise wise (the shoulder is still out, but there’s no reason I can’t start jogging, or going to a spin class…still nothing), doesn’t help that we had one of the coldest days on record yesterday, still…no excuses, right?

@lilymartin I had a chuckle at your description alongside the wagon – I’m also currently one knee hooked on, and hoping to hoist myself back up!

Sounds like there’s some great work happening on the forum this month, all very encouraging, and why I love it here so much!

    Day 24 Pocket List:

    Day 24 – Bonnieux, France – CD

I’m on holiday in France this week and next, and being surprisingly good with food and wine. This WOL is obviously getting into my long term habits. Or it’s just very hot here, one of the two. Either way, although I’ve got no scales to check progress, I’m feeling OK about what I’m eating. Just skimming everyone’s posts – and sending strength to all the fasters. Onwards and downwards.

    Day 24 – UK – FD

Early start with a 7am Broga Class with OH – feeling 💪 as managed to do complete sets of the following:-
3 sets x 8 Chatarunga pushups all from a plank position for the first time (usually do one set then drop to my knees for the others) went into downward dog for 2 breaths in between each set
Holding a sumo squat for 25 breaths with hand and arm position changes after each 5 breath, last 5 are done with heels raised and arm held up above the head then upright for 2 breaths rest and back down for a second series!
The rest of the class was equally strong – certainly brought on a sweat this morning 🥵

Went out afterwards with OH and 3 others from the class for a coffee – they all had breakfast as well but I enjoyed my one flat white for the day – planning on water only for the rest of this FD

@kaywesterman – I see you are having an MRI today – fingers crossed all is well
@redrockgirl302 – sounds like you are enjoying time with your dog 🐶
@michelinme – hope your stomach is more settled today and great news about the size 10-12 PJs
@songbirdme – it was a wonderfully restorative week – feeling invigorated and chilled at the same time 🙏
@penz – sounds like a restorative weekend for you – good on you for listening to your body – Thank you for OH’s birthday wishes he had a lovely day
@matpi – YES to freshly picked rhubarb from your garden – poached rhubarb with granola/porridge, rhubarb crumble or mackerel with a rhubarb relish – some of our favourite 😋

Doing post holiday laundry and catching up at home for the rest of the morning, meeting with friends for coffee and chat (sparkling mineral water for me!) this afternoon then a yoga class late evening should help to keep me focused on this FD

Adding my name to the Day 24 Pocket List as TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER!

    Day 24 UK FD

Oh @at you are an inspiration Going to try and take a leaf out of your book today First fast for quite a while and really aiming to look on the positives instead of being annoyed with myself for sliding back to this place – onwards and downwards as they say

    Day 24 USA (Illinois) NFD

Rainy day today in our “Summer that Wasn’t” weather. Almost the end of June, and still no really hot weather. Very strange.

@dykask – I am right with you being happy with a 25 BMI. Doubt I will ever be any thinner than I am now with maintenance at 160# (72.5 kg) and very content this way. At 71, who needs less fat to make more wrinkles?!

Off to Silver Sneakers shortly. Onward and downward.

Day 24. I am trying a 5 day egg fast as promised.

I love trying new things and I am pretty excited to see how it goes. I have recommitted to walking 15,000 steps a day. I’m working on my Master’s program so it’s a challenge to tear myself away from my computer and make myself go walk. But I must, I must 🙂

Just wanted a quick check in, late start at work today, OH was not feeling well; so I better dive right in – got lotsa on my plate.

    Ciao 🙂

    Day 23 NFD
    Day 22 NFD
    Day 21 FD

So… Good news and bad news. Good news is that I managed to run 8.5miles yesterday (1,206 kcal) ; my calf muscle was still a bit twingey towards the end but seems to be ok today (fingers crossed). Not a particularly fast run, but hugely enjoyable in spite of the 250m elevation gain, and enough to convince myself I can do my 20k race on the 30\6. What better way to finish the month 🙂

Oh, the bad news is I don’t seem to be losing any weight. Surely this cannot last if I’m fasting every weekday?

Day 24, Rocky Mountains, US, FD

Hiked so much over the last 3 days, did not go over my TDEE and still…4 pounds more. Hope this is water retention, some muscle gain and food in transit. Anyway, pressing the reset button.
