Day 11 Belfast FD.
I didn’t weigh myself today, which is unusual but I know the scales are up a pound or two after the weekend. But I won’t obsess. So I am going to make a big effort and stay off the scales until Saturday, which will be hard for me, a daily weigher. Looking forward to a controlled week with lots of exercise. The
@pamie – I have just finished the Clever Guts Diet. I suffer from excess stomach acid and have take industrial strength medication, which must be having an adverse effect on my health. My goal, on retirement from a stressful job, was to cut my medication and of course, lose weight. I have now halved my medication and regularly drink water kefir and only drink decaf coffee and tea. (Weekend alcohol is another story and of course the nibbles, as some of you have mentioned.) The book gives the usual rationale and a plan at the end for improving your gut health. There is a section of recipes at the end, some of which I intend to try. It’s definitely worth a read.
@metatauta – great results. Very well done
@califdreamer so sorry to hear about your furry friend.
@Imrenfrey what’s even more worrying is that the ‘kingmakers’ who are busy supporting the government can’t even sort out their own government. The NI Assembly is in complete disarray and they squabble like spoilt children.
@happymargo the beauty about this WOL is that you can push the reset button. I should know LOL!
@rainbowsmile take care of yourself.
@QueenBee2080 this forum certainly reflects a variety of interpretations of the diet, often mixed with other opinions from people like Dr Jason Fung. We all do the version that suits, but for me I usually stick to 500 cals on a FD and fast on a Monday and Thursday. I occasionally do B2B when my circumstances don’t let me follow the usual routine. However, on NFDs I follow 16:8, that is I only eat two meals, brunch and dinner. That prolongs, on a daily basis, the window between my last meal the previous day and my first meal the next day. I find that works for me. Good luck in finding your own path.
@allie123 well done on your loss. It sounds like you’ve got it sussed.
@lilymartin I think we both are in the same place, but regardless of the weight loss (or lack of it!) the health benefits cannot be overestimated. The only person responsible for our wellbeing is us. So…onwards and downwards!
LynzM LOL! Maybe I should get a little behind too!
So, Monday again and girding the loins… again. Have a good one everybody!
