    Day 5-UK-NFD x

    Day 5 Notts UK NFD

Well yesterdays FD was derailed as unexpected visitors bearing foodie gifts arrived. Hence back up 2 lbs for weigh in this morning (drat!!)

Oh well back on track today. Onwards and downwards. Bonce chance everyone.

June 5, Manchester, FD – very first Fast Day – excited, nervous (and not hungry yet!)

    Day 5 Belfast FD

Don’t know what’s happening. This is the second day on the trot that I’ve lost a post.
Yesterday wasn’t a very successful NFD- OH bought me a big bag of wine gums, my weakness, and the rest is history……
@happymargo – your positivity shines through! Hope your Crohn’s flare up settles soon, but in the meantime, continue to live life to the full, as you are doing. Change happens for us all whether we like it or not. Just make it your own.🤗
@coda happy travelling. Have a ball and enjoy every minute of your catch-up with songbird and chiltowngal!
@onahealthyhigh thank you for the link to the spreadsheet.
@rainbowsmile enjoy your holiday. Madeira is on my bucket list.
    @lagrandebouffe thanks for the link
    @mrsonb you had me salivating!
@at – congratulations on being able to reduce meds. That’s a huge step. I also found swimming helped with my asthma.
@imrenfrey well done for your holiday result. That’s the glory of this WOL.

To all the newbies, now an even more international forum – this is a great way of life. @strawberriesandcream has posted a great welcome at the beginning of this forum. There’s lost of advice and great support. You can choose whether you use the spread sheet or not. Good luck on your journey.

    Adding myself to the pocketeers.

Hello, I only started today so would like to do the 30 days from now. If there are any tips etc to make the diet successful I would really appreciate it. I have a lot to lose and want a successful kick start. Thanks, Vicki

    Day 5 – UK 🇬🇧- FD

forgot to post yesterday which was NFD I was working g long shift in hospital 😇I ate a few biscuits and chocs 😈then wine
so scales not good 2day up 1 pound..
need to rein in nfds! aby advice how many treats you can get away with??
NFD 2day keeping it healthy and then planning 3 fast days. .
    💜

can I add myself to pocketeers ?
not sure how it works but going to do 3 fds in row!

Hi, I have doing the 5:2 diet for a month and am more than half-way to my goal. Started at 164.5 pounds, aiming for 140. Am currently 151.6 llbs. Would like to join the June challenge please. Not sure what to do.

    Day 5, London, UK, NFD
    Day 4 – NFD

Ok, so I spoke too soon!!! Yesterdays’ FD became a NFD, even the ‘you’ve come so far, don’t give in now’ speech had no effect!!!

@rainbowsmile, I love, love love, Madeira, the levada walks should burn off the fantastic food…… and wine!! I usually take a ½ empty suitcase and return with it stuffed with wine and shoes……… a girl can’t have too much of either ( I hope the pocket winos aren’t reading this!!!)

@debster251, I’m with you on the wine gums, demolished a whole bag of the tangy ones yesterday – BANG goes the FD!!! ………. Pretty sure they’re coated in crack cocaine, ‘cause I CANNOT just have 1 or 2!!!!!

@silverpearl, you can get away with as many ‘treats’ that fit within your TDEE on a NFD, however, 1800 calories of chocolate fudge cake & wine won’t keep you as satisfied as 1800cals of balanced protein/veg/ good carbs will. Not to say that NEVER happens, but I find red wine makes locking the kitchen door or going over TDEE practically impossible!! It didn’t take long to realise those ‘treats’ aren’t really treats, they lead to self-sabotage and angst and the dragon LOVES them, but every now and then, once you have SOME control, isn’t a bad thing!!!

As I’m aiming for ADF, I owe myself another FD this week so I’ll make it Day 7 between two scheduled FDs, so it’ll be my 1st B2B2B for June. I’ll join my fellow pocketeers for your final 2 days, then go it alone for the 3rd.

Please copy and paste and add yourself if you want to join even for part of it.

P.S. to all the newbies…. Welcome, you might want to read the 1st post page 1 by our June host @strawberriesandcream, this will tell you all you need to know about this months challenge. Good luck!!

Day 5 1st post Huntingdon UK FD

Feeling a tad despondent this morning. I usually jump on the scales every morning but on Mondays I record the weight ….looks like I have fasted and walked for a whole week with little to show for it from the scales point of view.

I can tell from my body shape though that things are changing in a positive way so am taking heart from that. Also I came back to the forum and read a number of posts from other people who have had a plateauing experience from the scales point of view. I really should know from previous experience that sometimes a week is just too short a time to see the benefits on the scales.

Anyway … I have been out for my first walk of the day to bank 4000 steps and am looking forward to my drink of black coffee!!! Must remember….. keep on keeping on !!!

    Day 5 Oman NFD
    16:8

    Day 5 UK B2b

Planning on FD today and tomorrow. Have to catch up on all the amazing posts now as have been away from here over the past couple of days.

    Day 5, Newcastle UK, NFD

A wet and cool day today but the gardens need the rain so I’m not complaining. Just as we were about to start work on our back garden yesterday, I pulled a muscle across my lower back and ended up spending the day sitting and directing works instead of getting involved. I was looking forward to the exercise, so wasn’t too pleased. Never mind, it’s on the mend and I’ll be more careful. Must remember I’m not a spring chicken any more…

@at – thank you and pleased to hear you enjoyed your birthday celebrations.
@mrssonb – great start and I concur with the advice of listen to your body – eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full.
@saffy420 – enjoy your holiday in Wales. A balance of sensible choices and a little of what you enjoy should see you right. The wagon awaits your return.
@coda – all the best for a fantastic holiday!
@emma Taylor – Well done on your decision – it will make a big difference. Sounds like another book I need to read…
@awilson – try not to have negative feelings about the way a day goes. Draw a line, start again. Remember there is no finishing line – this is a Way of Life and if we didn’t have the occasional blips a) we wouldn’t be human and b) life would be pretty boring 🙂
@Imrenfrey well done – did you enjoy your holiday?
@onahealthyhigh and @debster251 – thanks both for helping with advice for the newcomers – you both took the words out of my mouth 🙂
@hotchoc – there’s no time limit on this, it’s a WOL that has to fit with our lives. Enjoy your visitors and plan your FD when it fits with your life.
@rainbowsmile – just listen to and trust your body.
@fatteacher – thanks – I’m enjoying reading all the posts and remembering how I felt when I started this journey in February. I’m feeling like a veteran now lol!
    @happymargo – Big hug!
@queenbee20280 – Did you read the original 5:2 book by Dr. M and Mimi Spencer?
@lany36 – now that sounds like a recipe for a lot of fun!!
Welcome @BigBill, @salsey, @Lewin1988Bride to be, @katyn1973 – and any other newcomers that I have inadvertently missed.

I’m pretty confident I’ve added everyone’s names to the spreadsheet. Some like to use it, others don’t feel the need – it’s entirely down to each individual. Here’s the link again. Just add your details to your line and exit the spreadsheet. It’s as simple as that.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SLq0JjjWe8jvsiubsJSS8owJ-qYfGYtY1ceZPkWphLM/edit#gid=0

All the best for a great start to the week. This WOL does work if you put the work in. However, balance and flexibility are key to making this sustainable.

    Day 5 – Cumbria UK – FD

Woke up to a very wet and windy day as predicted by the weatherman 😒

Well I did make it a very controlled day yesterday (even included a lovely glass of a PicPoul – note pocket winos!!) came in roughly 300cal under TDEE 💃this should hopefully set me up for a successful B2B FDs

Welcome to all those joining us over the past 3 days @shaninia @strawplash @s1u2e3 (I remember you from early in the April challenge – great to have you back with us) @island-cruiser @myra @pyfmum @queenbee20280 @big_bill @salsey @katyn1973 @lewin1988-bride-to-be @katherine1

This WOL works and cost nothing…….my advice would be to stick to the basics for the first couple of months and see how you get on; then if you want you can start tweaking things around but the basic diet works – The following link by @simcoeluv might prove helpful and answer a lot of your questions:– https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

@onahealthyhigh – thanks for the birthday wishes – ‘Pocket winos’ group have all fallen off the wagon somewhat I think – so as you say time to regroup 😇
@coda – I would be counting the hours too – have a fabulous time x
@rainbowsmile – it is not uncommon to feel “starving” on a FD but to wake up the next day with no hunger at all – I no longer eat breakfast on waking ever – I break my fast late morning/lunchtime on NFDs and on FDs I only have an evening meal of protein and vegetables but sometimes I do a water/tea FD
@lou-belles – thank you for adding me to the pocket group x
@lagrandebouffe – I should have guessed – I know the film you are talking about – Marco Ferreri’s La Grande Bouffe, from 1973 – It’s a film of its time!
@silverpearl – pocketeers list can be started by anyone who feels they need support – it can just be for anyone fasting today or a small group who are intending to do 2 or more FDs in a row e.g. B2B (2 days) B2B2B (3 days)….etc. You just copy and paste the list on your post and add your name to the bottom.
@Strawberriesandcream – great job staying on top of this first week – As the host it is always so busy with people joining more or less daily – I see that 141 have signed up to the challenge so far! These are for you 💐

To those on their first FD of this challenge – sending positive vibes your way YOU CAN DO THIS 🤗 “Willpower is a muscle – the more you use it – the stronger it gets!!! “

I have to leave us with a motivating quote for the day or it would not be me 😉 This is one of the first I used since joining the challenges back in November:-
“Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose”

    Day 5 – Herts, UK – FD

    (Day 4 was NFD)

Very quick one for me today – I couldn’t get online yesterday so wasn’t able to post, but it was a NFD (and what a bad NFD it was too! I’m ashamed – I ate quite a bit above my TDEE!!).

Starting Monday afresh, though had a rotten night’s sleep and suffering with some hay fever issues today so taking it nice and slow! Keeping my water levels up, which will help any hunger dragons and also these pesky dry eyes!

Have a good day everyone x

    Day 5…….Florida…..FD

Please add me to the pocket list, my tablet is not behaving. Thank you!

I had a ridiculously over indulgent weekend. I really got to do something about that. If I keep it up, there is no way, I’ll be able to Kung-fu fight like everyone else!
So last week, I made a mental note of how much soda/pop/fizzy drink, I consumed, and I’m sorry to say, I’m right back up there in the glutney stage. So, I’m going to be working on that this week!

LynZ….. they played the One Love concert here in the states, it happened to be on in the middle of the day. What a beautiful way to bring everyone together when others are trying to rip the people apart! Liam Gallagher was really good although I’ve never heard of him…… I wondered if he was the same Liam Gallagher from Shameless…. UK version, I thought it kinda looked like him just older!
P.S. im a sucker for U.K. television, so much better then here in the states!

Okay, so, I’ve got to go on record for all the newbies and old timers who need a little reminder. Yes, we’re going to be talking about those dreaded lying, cheating, theiven bastards. You know the dreaded scales! With 5:2, the scales are not the only way to show progress, ah 90% of the time, they are not going to tell you the truth anyways.
The best way to show progress, is by your closet. Find something in there that doesn’t fit and use that as a tool, if each week, you find it easier to fit into it, then you are making progress.
Story time…… I want to say it was Feb., when nothing I did made those darn scales move. Man, was I angry….. Fustrated, I decided I would do stage one of the closet clean out. Holy crap, I started to fit into clothes than I haven’t worn years… I mean clothes I wore when I was 30lbs lighter….. at that time I was only 10lbs lighter from my highest weight!
The thing is although my weight didn’t really change, my body did. I’ve ever had any other diet do this. I no longer had dimples on my thighs, my belly roll decreased considerably and I almost had thigh gap! What?!?
    I know right?!?
It was then, I learned that maybe those scales don’t always tell the whole truth. I also learnt that maybe this is the way it’s actually suppose to be, our bodies using our fat instead of storing it.
As it stands now, I’m up three lbs from my lowest weight on 5:2, but I look and feel thinner than I ever have.
I’m not sure where my story ends, Will I stay at 143 but wearing clothes that are way to small for my weight but look great on me who knows. But I can tell you, although I still weigh myself, a small size is a better reassurance then numbers on a scale will ever be.

Well… off to work I go!

Surely, NOT everyone was Kung-fu fight….. it’s Monday after all!

Apologies if people are seeing this multiple times as my browser is not behaving.

@strawberriesandcream – thank you, yes, I did enjoy the holiday. Nice to get a change of scenery with the kids, do some touristy stuff, and lots of eating out and some very nice ice creams. 😀 Still, it’s good to be home, sleeping in my own bed, and a couple of b2b 800 calories days to get control back feels good. Shame about the weather. Half way between yourself in Newcastle and @at in Cumbria, the rain has just turned torrential here, which might just help me focus on work today.

    Day 5 – USA (Illinois) – FD

Going to manage a 500 calorie day today, keeping at my maintenance.

@bert1802 – I so enjoy your posts! You are ever so right about the clothes. Each new season puts me into my closet mostly finding things that just hang or fall off this newly-35#-lighter body. I hadn’t saved very many items from my lighter body (I think it was close to 20 years ago when I was this weight). People have told me to hang onto some larger clothes, but I really do not want to do that. Somehow I feel like it would be expecting failure of my maintenance goal.

@strawberriesandcream – I added myself and a few stats to the spreadsheet. Your work looks amazing!

    Onward and downward!

    2nd Post

Wow, quite a few of us doing B2Bs or even B2B2Bs………… for me it’s usually to end a months challenge with a BIG PUSH (having indulged a little too often!!), however I’m feeling that a lot of us want a jump start to June!!!! LOL.

Looking forward to starting my 3 days of great sleep, general feelings of lightness and clear thinking tomorrow!!!

Day 5, Rocky Mountains, US, FD B2B2B

    Hello all,

Well, what can I say. Yesterday turned out to be a food day. Munching all day even after that wonderful healthy lunch. Had breakfast(normally dont eat breakfast), snack, lunch, snack, snack and snack. The hunger dragon 🐉 was a happy camper. So my post from yesterday with 19 hours fasting and a 6 hour food window did not happen. 😄😄😄.
Oh well, scales are up, but the worst is that I am so hungry today. The hunger dragon 🐊 at his best. I committed to b2b2b to get him back in his cave by drowning him with water and tea. Today will be tough but by tomorrow and Wednesday he will be calm and not bothering me anymore!😅

I have to power through and with the help of my pocketeers it will happen! Yeah!😊

Good luck to all the pocketeers and to all my fellow fasters. 😊🌸😊🌼😊

@ strawberriesandcream please add me to the June challenge
Day 1 Chicago, Illinois USA – NFD
    Day 2 – FD
Day 3 – NFD Weigh in at 141
    Day 4 – NFD
    Day 5 – FD

@coda and @songbirdme looking forward to meeting you both tomorrow. Call me when you are at the hotel and ready to head out to sight see or to eat. Many fun things to do in Chicago. Weather forecast shows 70 and sunny, although it is usually a little cooler by the lake which is where you are staying.

@coda and @songbirdme if there is anything special you want to see, do or eat in Chicago let me know

    Day 5 – FIN – FD

Saturday’s overeating trend continued well into Sunday as well. It was pretty bad (400 g sweets, ice cream, meringues), but still, I’m very glad for my determination in the evening – the kitchen closed after dinner at 19 and despite doing several tours to the cabinets and fridge I actually didn’t eat anything after that. Unsurprisingly, I wasn’t feeling too great in the evening, so I’m very happy to reset my body with today’s fast and aim into a better week. I’ll probably go for a 500 kcal day as per usual, as I’m planning on running today – rescheduled yesterday’s run for today – and feel like I need some energy afterwards.

@snowflake56 I’m glad to hear you enjoy ballet. And I certainly also understand the appeal to be able to do something together with your husband, something ballet sadly can’t replace.
I am familiar with Calatrava’s work, and despite him being somewhat infamous (especially for the constant building budget overruns and expensive upkeep costs) I do agree that there’s something mesmerizing in many of his buildings. I haven’t experienced the Milwaukee Art Museum in person, but I saw many miniatures of his work (including one of the said museum) during an exhibition of his work held at the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg back in 2012.

@fatrabbit The problem with media is that scandals and disasters are (at least in the media’s opinion) what tend to sell magazines and make people tune in. I think it’s important that we’re not kept in the dark, but it’s clear that excessive headlines about these kind of attacks make people more afraid than necessary and in a way also help spread the terror even further – precisely what the terrorists want.

    Day 5 USA-WA FD

Looking forward to the simplicity of a FD today.

I agree with everyone about the One Love concert in Manchester yesterday. I felt more inspired and hope-filled about our ability to reach out and come together in the face of tragedy than I have in awhile. It was a beautiful event!

Diet wise, I am hoping to figure out this week what I need to do to eat in a very healthy way-enough protein and balanced electrolytes, and very “gently” lose my last few pounds. I teach a lot of yoga and exercise classes, so my doctor has told me that I need to focus on the nutritional markers of a high performance athelete, which seems funny because I don’t do super intense exercise, but just teach a lot of classes. So my goal is to figure this out this week! This group has been helpful for thinking this through already, because of the amount of collective wisdom about nutrition! Thanks.

    Day 5- Colorado USA–NFD, but well-controlled

@lany36 — thanks for your kind words. I’m already feeling more chipper today!

OH & I have a quick trip to Orlando Florida coming up (planned months ago.) When I return, I’ll be picking & choosing the per diem shifts that fit me. Best thing I’ve found about OR work days is they make terrific FDs. Easy to Fast because there’s no eating or drinking during surgery! 😃 Quite simple to just wait till the end of the day & save all 500 calories for dinner at home. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy. 🍋

Meeting a friend for Chinese lunch. 🍜 I’m still recovering on semi-liquid, low residue diet (allowing my bowel to rest.). Figure I can at least enjoy some egg drop soup & my pal’s fine company!

Have a wonderful day whether fasting, non-Fast, control, BSD….make it count!😄

Remember to ask: “Will this get me closer to my goal?”

    Day 5 – USA – NFD

@coda, @songbirdme, @Chitowngal – getting excited about your meeting in Chicago tomorrow!! Hope you have tons of fun!

Finally after 3 days of wild readings, my bp is normal, yet pulse is up…I’ll take it. Cannot pinpoint the reason and frankly would rather just move on.

    (2nd post)

@debster251 – I definitely find comfort in routine & the familiar, so I think every now & then The Universe likes to give me a big shove out into the unknown to shake me up. And I must admit, my life is mostly quite lovely, so I remind myself often, “Things happen for reason & will work out well in the end.” They usually do!

@coda -Ttravel adventures!! Hope you have a fantastic time in US! We can’t wait to hear updates on your forum meet-up. Enjoy!

@flourbaby — LOL! 😂 “wine and shoes……… a girl can’t have too much of either ( I hope the pocket winos aren’t reading this!!!)” I’m a Pocket Wino for sure & I loved this! 👠👡😃🍷

    Day 5 Oregon USA FD

Looking forward to a successful FD today.
Tweaked my back in yoga on Saturday so I will need a few days to get it back in working order…grrrrr

@strawberriesandcream thank you for the kind words.

    (3rd post)

@starwberriesandcream – sorry about your back, those injuries are no fun, especially if they decide to nag. Take care to heal it. Your garden will wait.
(And again, thank you for hosting this giant group.)

@songbirdme — I agree about not holding onto my bigger “fat” clothes. As my size slowly shrinks down, I’m enjoying purging the old, baggy stuff. The nicer items are getting tailored down to fit well (thanks, Mom, for teaching me sewing so many years ago! Incredibly worthwhile skill.)

KonMari techniques to the rescue! As I get smaller, so does my wardrobe. I’m actually developing “a style” which I’ve never pondered much before since I wear nurse scrubs every day. I’m feeling better in my own skin & finally feel like looking extra nice for OH when we go out. No more wearing gym & workout gear everywhere!

You’ve had terrific success, songbird, & I so appreciate that you stay here to share tales from the maintenance side!

    Day 5, Germany, NFD

@strawberriesandcream Doing Ceroc would be great, but in the small town we’re living at the moment, not possible. But we plan to go back to the Netherlands in ~2 years from now, then our live will be normal and less hectic again.

@coda, @songbirdme and @chitowngal this must be so exiting, have fun!

@happymargo also being a nurse I loved to work at different places, it kept me alert and I love learning new things. It’s also nice to know you always can get a job because you worked in so many different fields. In the Netherlands it was hard to find a job as a nurse when you had stayed somewhere too long, to change jobs showed flexibility. I wonder if it’s still like this, I left in 1986. In Germany they all want to hire you because of your knowledge but expect you to stay for a long time. Will you still be working in the OR?

@snowflake56 – absolutely staying on working in OR. There’s a shortage & very high demand for trained surgical nurses, especially due to the extra training involved.

In fact, I may just stay at the surgery I currently work as long as I get enough hours. The freedom of per diem shifts is VERY tempting! My OH thinks my current Crohn’s flare is a huge “blessing in disguise.” I love him! 😘

This is actually a 2nd career for me, as I started first with a Business Degree & worked for years in business management. Then 12 years ago, I returned to university to change careers & become an RN. One of the best decisions I ever made!!

    Second post
@flourbaby you’ve hit the nail on the head – just resetting from the wine and the wine gums. Is it a coincidence that the gums have the word ‘wine”‘in their title? Ha!
@snowflake I’m looking forward to seeing Giselle later this month. Haven’t been to the ballet for the couple of years.
@metatauta I’m glad to see your BP is down. Hopefully the pulse will settle now.
@happymargo, I lost my job when I was 35 and had two small children. I was in engineering, then went and trained as a primary school teacher. My one regret, looking back on my teaching career, was when a job came up, which would have given me the opportunity to shape education locally. Not wanting to be out of my comfort zone, I didn’t apply. Ah well, the one that got away….

Day 5, MT USA – FD

Good exercise weekend – I golfed 18 holes Saturday, walking. Also did a spin class yesterday and I am so sore! I’m traveling this week so fasting today and may try to fast again tomorrow while I’m flying so I can be done for the week. I was planning on doing another spin class in morning tomorrow but really worried about doing it the morning after a FD. Any advice? I won’t eat today until dinner – then do a 400 calorie dinner, then when I wake up eat around 400 cals of protein then fast for the rest of the day until the next morning. Think that will work? I’m definitely concerned about doing a hard workout on a B2B fast.

Day 5 – SW WA USA – FD

Definitely needing this FD. I went overboard in consumption yesterday & up on the scale this morning.

@lynzm – I’m glad you got to go to the concert. Hopefully it was encouraging.

    Together we are stronger!

Day 5, Hampshire, UK – FD

Sorry been hectic at work since Friday, I didn’t even get a lunch break Friday and today!! It has made my fasting days easier…

Here are my last few days:

    Day 2 – FD
    Day 3 – NFD
    Day 4 – NFD

I forgot to weight myself this morning for my weekly weigh in but I’ll do it tomorrow morning. I am only doing 2 days fasting this week as we go on holiday on Thursday but I’m hopeful to get to 69kg before my birthday and holiday on Thursday.

Been stressing at work, i hear stress makes you loose weight :D… we shall see!!

    2nd post

Thanks for the flowers @at 🙂
@songbirdme – apart from adding all the names down the left hand column, I can’t claim any credit for the incredibly professional shared spreadsheet; that was all @pissupoosa‘s work. I am simply the guardian for this month and very grateful for it too!!
@Chitown Gal – you’ve been in the June challenge since the start – certainly on the spreadsheet 🙂 I just noticed you had posted again in the May thread today, but I know you’re on here with us now. Enjoy your meeting with @coda and @songbirdme – how very exciting!
@happymargo – thank you – my back is improving as the day goes on and as I’m not working tomorrow it has an extra day to recover. However, I will be more mindful about my movements from now on.

    Onwards & downwards….

    2nd post

@debster251 I haven’t been to a ballet for ages now. My SIL was a dancer at the Stuttgart Ballet, her husband is still working there (not as a dancer). We haven’t been there for a while, too far away. Have fun, I always like the athmosphere in a theater before the beginning.

@happymargo I never wanted to do anything else. I do unterstand the temptation and it may be your husband is right, perhaps your flare is “a blessing in disguise”, just give it a try.

    Day 5 | Alaska | FD

Good morning from Anchorage, AK. Do we have access to the June spreadsheet? I haven’t been online for the past few days as it’s summer in Alaska, which is a magical time of year where I try to be outdoors as much as possible.

This weekend was forecasted for rain but turned out to be gorgeous on Saturday and just overcast on Sunday. Sunday I did a wilderness yoga retreat in a yurt just outside of the city limits. When we got there, everyone was abuzz talking about the bear they saw on the way in. We did not see any, I’ve lived her all my life and only seen bear a few times. Then on the way home I got to see a black bear pretty up-close and personal, so so cute. And then later got to see a mama brown “grizzly” bear with a cub. Both encounters were distant enough to be comfortable but close enough to be exhilarating.

I fasted on Friday and was my lowest weight ever since starting in May but then I did a nose dive on Saturday and gained 3 pounds overnight. This use to be cause for major upset but since I’ve found fasting, I feel less out of control and more like, this is just a temporary set back. I will get back on track this week.

Today is a fast day and I’m feeling great. Hope all is well with all of you.
    Hang in there!

Welcome @lola907 – I’ve added your name to the spreadsheet. Here’s the link:

I have been lucky enough to have travelled quite extensively around the US and have been fortunate to see a lot of bears – some very close up indeed. I understand the thrill 🙂

    Day 5 US FD
Today I am getting ready and packing for our 18 day Holiday…. packing… realizing our teens need clothes they said they didn’t need etc..😅Feeling a bit overwhelmed. But I am getting ready for our adventure… that’s an adventure in itself. Whew😌
@rainbowsmile I have found it to be the case on a NFD after a FD or a few FD’s in a row. On the NFD I don’t have as much energy as I did on the FD’s. I read that it is because it takes more energy to digest the food. Also I’ve been aware since I taught aerobics in my 20’s. That we are using the food we are yesterday, because it takes a day for food to digest for use in the body.😊 So after a FD … possibly no food digested from yesterday… and digesting food today that might not use until tomorrow. Now I know that if we don’t eat carbs… we go into farburning mode on FD’s and we can stay in fat burning mode on no carb FD’s. So there is no up and down of energy (that happens with sugar and insulin reactions. I’ve found keeping the glycemic index low helps stop the physically lethargic reactions. Withon a day with out sugar or carbs… we go back into fat burning mode.😄 I believe the answer for people who are able to do IF intermediate fasting. Is less than 500 cals on FD’s and around 900-1500 on NFD. That way there isn’t a huge difference from day to day… I have not been doing IF… I have been doing b2b’s sometimes 4 or 5 in a row. I’m getting better at 900cal NFD but usually NFD’s are more difficult for me than FD’s (mainly because of making low no carb or low carb decisions.) But the people that do IF seem pretty successful at steady weightloss.

@happymargo…I like that…will use it! No BMW✨😊 no bitching, moaning or whining…. it doesn’t help things anyway.✨
@strawberriesandcream I hope your lower back muscle feels better soon. We have “doans pills” Magnesium for back pain, here in the US… heating pad might help. Hug for you and wishing you well.✨

I added my self and picked up a few more Pocketeers for FD’s✨

Day 5 Florida USA FD Today I’m really feeling the fast, eating nothing between 9am and 6pm. Drinking tea and water. We’re going out with friends to dinner but it’s a seafood place and I’ve got 400 calories to use. We’re packing for 4 months in the mountains of Massachusetts, escaping the Florida heat. The next 3 (travel) days will be NFD’s- I’ll try to avoid the fast food franchises as much as possible! I found my Dr’s report from 1/17. I’m 8 pounds less than I was then. Makes me wonder if all I was wearing then were drawstring pants!😁

    Day 3 – CARDIFF UK – NFD
    Day 4 – CARDIFF UK – NFD
    Day 5 – CARDIFF UK – FD

    Starting Weight : 154.7lbs

    Target Weight : 148.7lbs

Up a bit from starting weight today, but on Saturday the scales briefly showed in the 10’s. Aim now is to get this happening consistently over the next week or so.
