Hello to all my new 5:2 friends

  • I am starting the 5:2 tomorrow 14th June 2014 and I am looking forward to losing weight. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. I know there is no hard fast rule about carbs but is there a maximum limit. I have planned out my first day choosing to have a late breakfast and then tea if anyone has done this differently and it has worked better let me know all help appreciated.

    Hi and welcome.

    You can eat any foods you want on 5:2, perhaps not as much as you would like, however. Many people find eating one meal that is high in fat and protein on their diet days works very well.

    The way you do 5:2 is to go to bed, get up, eat 500 or fewer calories while you are awake, go to bed, get up and eat ‘normally’ – twice a week. ‘Normally’ means to your TDEE or less.

    Simcoeluv. I’m intrigued. You have no profile. Your name pops up everywhere. You seem very knowledgeable and are always quick to advise new joiners. I don’t recall though having seen your weight loss stories? Or history Your posts aim to help others but volunteer nothing about you? Who are you?!
