  • I am a 68 year old woman living in Mayenne, France. I have gradually increased in weight since moving here 13 years ago. I lost weight on the Dukan diet but found it expensive, restrictive and difficult to maintain.

I started the fast diet two weeks ago doing 5:2 but didn’t lose anything this week I am trying 4:3 and am on my third fast day.
It may be early days but it’s disappointing to see the scales and tape measure stay the same. Any suggestions welcome.

    Bonjour Madame Linda,

Its good to see someone from France here. I, myself was in Paris, for around 1 year, and get to know bit of a French. I love french food (vegetarian).

I’ve lost around 31 kgs till now (not just from 5:2 though). I measure myself daily. It’s pretty normal to see the daily fluctuations in the scale due to various reasons. Main thing is to stick to the fasting days. Calories in turn, doesn’t really matter anymuch. What it matters, is the Insulin, which in turn drives Obesity. Through fasting, the Insulin levels will be normal which inturn allows for the fat burning process.

Stick to the fasting days sincerely and avoid all the processed foods like Pizza, Pasta, Noodles etc and ofcourse the deserts which have high amount of sugars and you’ll see wonders.
