headaches after fast day

    I have been doing the fast diet for 5 weeks and pleased to have lost 7lb. interestingly I always seem to gain on the non fast days, overall there is usually a downward trend of about 1Lb a week and I am happy with that.

    My main problem is that I seem to get a headache after fast days when I wake up in the morning. i don’t think it is dehydration or caffeine withdrawal. Could it be sugar withdrawal?
    Any thoughts?
    Also How much water should we drink on fast days?

    I hove found it necessary to drink much more water than I do on a non fast day and I found that this helped with the headaches

    Just been on another post on migraines and a few people have found to increase the amount of water on fast days clears the headaches/migraines. Seems dehydration can be a problem, coffee is a diuretic so if you’re still drinking that would increase water intake to compensate. Another person found a small amount of salt in a drink helpful. Believe coconut water is very hydrating so might try drinking that on fast days as struggle to drink alot of water.

    Another person found dose of magnesium cured headache. I struggle with sugar balance, but thought diet was supposed to address that? It says in book that they don’t believe sugar balance will be a problem, I think. Other people were surprised at just how much they had to increase their fluid intake, so perhaps that could be your issue?

    Hunger & headaches are just toxins leaving the body..finish strong.

    Hi anna22, sorry to hear you’re having headaches, that’s not much fun at all – it can make you feel a bit miserable.

    I’m up to 6 weeks of fasting, having completed my 12th fast. The headaches were pretty horrible for the first few weeks, but I’m glad to say they’ve diminished over the weeks to the point that I didn’t get one at all yesterday on my fast day. Drinking water and fruit teas helps somewhat, but sometimes our bodies just register we’re doing something different and react. I can’t help thinking there’s a correlation between doing more fasts and the headaches decreasing at the same time.

    I no longer get headaches when fasting, I had a really hard time at first. Shaky, hungry, not able to concentrate
    Now I feel energized and well, I have heard the process described as detox-ing, any way the body the body seems to adjust. I hope it doesn’t take you too long. I remember I drank Detox Tea, that may have helped.

    I have started to develop quite a bad headache the day after the second fast day. This has happened twice now and its not pleasant. I take magnesium supplements, drink at least 2L of water fast and non fast days and eat well on my non fast days. Does anyone have an answer to this? I have been on the diet for 6 weeks.
