First day!

  • starting today, determined to stick to this, after years of yo yo dieting which includes weight watchers, slimmers world and the very drastic Cambridge diet. I have lost half my body weight and put it on again. At 62 this has to work. Got lots of exciting things I want to do and at 18 and a half stone I spend my life puffing around like an eighty year old. This eating plan is manageable so determined to make it work. Slow metabolism and on thyroxine so hoping diet and exercise will help me burn this fat off!

    I under estimated breakfast calories but have done well. Chicken and huge salad for supper really looking forward to that! Hope you’re doing well. I even managed a walk and pilates class!

    Snap! Big chicken salad for me too. Out of troubles way this evening as a volunteer usher..so hopefully day 1 survived.

    Well done to us both! My next fast day is Thursday, must plan more carefully.

    First day over! Had a train trip, then all-day meeting, then another train trip so thought would be too busy to think about food. Had hot water at start of day, green tea, black earl grey and water during the day to drink, for lunch a natural low-fat yoghurt, banana and miso soup and then a chick pea and tomato potage with half a pitta bread for dinner. Cleaned my teeth straight after dinner to stop fancying anything more.

    Don’t think I’ll skip breakfast again: next fast day is Thursday when I’ll start with boiled egg and ryvita, miso and a few almonds at lunch then Fast Diet book smoked haddock gratin for dinner. I’ll be cycling to and from work on Thursday too. Did some planning and shopping at the weekend and my husband’s decided to have a go with me (he likes porridge which helps!).

    My first fast day was Sunday, found this quite hard as I was off work but managed, my second one is tomorrow. My TDEE is 2000 kcal so guessing this is what I should be eating on non fast days but today I ate approx 1700 and did a double class in the gym. I am thinking weightloss of any kind is doubtful right now but I am not sure if this is because when I normally diet I am constantly hungry so this is a big change. Hopeful I lose even a pound in my 1st week!

    Gymn this morning then smoked haddock and asparagus…and a grapefruit! 100 calories for a whole grapefuit to my amazement. Probably had all my calories now, but ushering this evening for Ruby Wax..so that should keep my mind off food. If I can get through till 7 on a cup of coffee I think I will have cracked it…..

    You lead an exciting life! Well done! My day 2 fast Day went well porrage skimmed milk and nutmeg. 160cals. Home made veg soup for lunch 100cals, and for dinner cottage cheese, olives and a big mixed salad, yummy! I haven’t felt hungry Which is a bonus!
