  • I find it easier to simply not eat at all on my fast days. I fast from dinner on one evening until dinner the next evening ( 24 hours) I drink lots of water and black cofee/tea and maybe eat some sugar free jelly.
I dont get hungry but I find that if I eat anything then I want more.
    Is this harmful?

    Thanks

Hi Goldeelocks, welcome to the forums!

not sure if I have the answer to your query, I still think you should consume the 500 cals though, hope someone will be along with more suggestions!!

    good luck 🙂

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There is no need to eat 500 calories on your fast days if you don’t want to. Many people only have water or herb teas, black coffees etc between supper the day before and breakfast the day after. It is what is easiest for you in terms of having enough energy, getting to sleep and managing your appetite. Eating the 500 calories will not make you lose weight faster.

I do the same as you, Goldeelocks. On my 8th week now and I still function ! So, no, it is not harmful. I just wish I could bring myself to do the full 36hr fast, eg Monday evening meal to Wednesday breakfast. But so far I have wimped out. TBH I am surprised how easy I find it NOT to eat for 24hrs. I do like my food !

Hi @interlocks. Like you I don’t eat anything from dinner on non fast day until dinner on fast day when I have a 300 – 350 calorie meal. You do what works best for you. Some people have zero calories from dinner on non fast day until their first meal on the next non fast day (36 our fast) others have 3 small meals on their fast day. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way just YOUR way. Whatever fits you best.
My TDEE is under 1600 so 500 calories would be t much for me. The 500 figure was chosen as being 25% of the ‘average’ woman’s daily requirement of 2000 calories but we’re all different (hence ‘average’) so our personal requirement may be higher or lower.
I too find if I start to eat I want to keep eating so I eat as late as I can.

    Good luck

    xx

Sorry @goldeelocks my Kindle thinks it knows what I want to type better than I do 😀

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am waiting for my book to arrive. I just find it easier to not eat at all than to fiddle around with 500 calories. It is so hot here in Cape Town now that its easy to not eat and I must say that I dont get hungry.

Good to talk to you all and lets hope we all lose lots of fat and get healthier fast !

Hi goldeelocks, I’m the same, if I have breakfast my tummy rumbles all day long and shouts “feed me” so better to have a meal in the evening . You’ll find the book very inspiring :o)
