  • Just watched the programme by Michael and it struck a chord.I’m 54 and very aware of how poor my diet is.
I am Scottish, and almost by definition, addicted to sugar, chocolate specifically.

I am fortunate that I am someone who has never had a weight problem, (brown fat or something!)but I am aware that my diet is pretty unhealthy and I want to find a way to change that without having to learn multiple vegetarian recipes.

I am not very patient when it comes to cooking or food preparation, so the fasting appeals to me as a way to get healthier without worrying too much about all that.

Welcome @johnny7gun. This is a great way of eating that can be as unique as you are.

Typical…..had a scrambled egg roll and tea and Innocent juice for my main meal of the day and i actually left a good bit of the roll as i didnt feel hungry.
I just know im going to regret that later on.

    Having a tuna sandwich tonight.

Good luck, Johnny, and welcome to the 5:2. I’ve been doing it for five weeks now and have lost 8lbs, though that isn’t really my goal as I haven’t much weight to lose. Mostly I’m doing it for the hoped for long term benefits.

If you are eating less it becomes more important that you eat more healthily on your non-fast days as each bite is proportionally more since you are taking fewer of them on a weekly basis.

Thanks mate.Day 1 almost complete.I had ham sandwich and a cup of tea tonight.
I had a very active day but it wasn’t too hard.Having things to do kept my distracted.
I too don’t really need to lose much weight having been a skinny guy all my life, but i’ve become flabby and have loose skin and don’t feel great about myself so i intend keeping it up for life if possible.
