  • Hi all
I am a complete newbie to this plan but can see that this forum could be a very useful place for me 🙂 so I hope you don’t mind if I could let you know what I have/will eat on day 1 and if I am doing things right or any changes are needed.
So I have had 2 x American coffee with a dash of skimmed milk in each 31kcals, 1 x snack a jack (41kcals), 2 x clementine (small) 80kcals , my dinner is an m&s salmon meal..330kcals and was planning a sugar free jelly after that and a cup of green tea later …total of approx 490kcals?
    How does this sound?
I really appreciate any advice from you professionals 5:2’ers

    Hi KK and welcome:

This will answer most of your questions: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

As for your diet – 5:2 is a calorie based diet, not a type of food based diet. That means you can eat any foods you want as long as you stay within the calorie guidelines. Most people find a single evening meal on their fast days consisting mostly of fat/protein calories works best because the are less hungry using that pattern, but eating any way or any thing you want on your fast days is OK, as long as you stay within the 5/600 calorie limit.

    Good Luck!

Ah thank you very much for that. Good to know 🙂
Hopefully I will be a pro before long x

Hello all, hope you are doing well! Day 1 was ok although went to bed starving and really looked forward to food today!! Just had a lovely lunch and tracked all my calories for dinner later.
My question is how do I work out how many calories I should be eating on a non fast day? I was aiming between 1300-1500?
    Many thanks
    Kara
