Just thought I would share with you a great new type of aerobic fitness. It’s a bit like line dancing in that you all dance separately. There are opportunities for partner dancing it you have enough men. We did not, 30 to 1 ratio. Therefore we twirled in a circle and had it imagine a male partner, mine was tall, dark and handsome. We started by doing a waltz, then tango, salsa, foxtrot, Vienna waltz, rumba, jive, and several others I have forgotten. This class has already been running a year so I was truly in the deep end. I love dancing although I have had no formal training so I didn’t know any steps. Many were familiar from watching ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, it’s all so fast though. When you think you have learnt a step she adds a bit to it. Your arms and hips need to do quiet a bit too, mine did quite a lot of extra wobbling but we won’t talk about that in public. Lightness of foot is something that often us chubbier folk can compete with even if we win hands down on the redness of face.
Hopefully I will improve but even if I don’t I will be there weekly now…….try it folks ! Especially you men, you are needed. A man who can dance is a rare and attractive thing.
