  • Fit, I think too, it’s getting back into the habit of fasting, we do get out of it quite easy, then get slack, but you have done a grilliant job, so no looking back, just to the future. I just closed my shutters incase there are some flying branches etc whilst I’m away, funny, though 19 predicted, it’s not cold either, just in jeans and boots, t/shirt and vest, quite comfy, but taking a jacket for when the rains hit and it cools down. We’ll be fine I’m sure, Julie has lost a breast with cancer and been through so much, and I have paid my penance so many times over so between us have far too much livin’ to do yet๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi folks a quick check-in to attempt to post photos. Challenging with only a mobile here! Let’s see how we go!
OK that’s a big fat No. Uploaded but nothing there when I go and look. Try on the tablet later. Bummer! Having a wonderful time. Went to their dance kesson this morning….what fun! Our travel club hosts are lovely. The lady came from a potato farming family from Idaho with 11 children. She’s had lots of interesting stories to tell us. We’ve had a 91st birthday party for great grandma with all the extended family. We’ve been to a special cupcake shop with the kids. We’ve been to a great park & got lots of good photos for memories. Tomorrow night we all go out to a family restaurant fir dinner. 5:2 just not happening at present. Never mind the family stuff is WAY more important for us!!! Were loving it! Byee for now. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ suejen xxxx

Sue how great to hear from you and your trip sounds fantastic! I’m glad to hear your travel club thing has worked out and with such nice hosts. Just don’t talk politics! Probably didn’t have to tell you that though. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Drink in the love with your family โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ – have a cupcake for me too! and make bunches of sweet memories ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜ xxx

Great stuff Suejin! Have a nice day everyone. Kicked some of the Russians outa’ my cupboards. Having a fast day for inspiration. Am off to write now. Cg, take care in the wind. (It’s gunna get a bit rugged weatherwise as the galaxy gears up for Armageddon) xxx gyps

Hi all. great fast yesterday..Really feel I can get back on the straight and narrow now in earnest. Feeling positive vibes about starting the downward weight loss again. Good thing too as I have a goal to reach in the next six weeks …..and that is to have lost more weight and get fitter so that I am able to play with my two grandchildren in the months of June and July. So planning on an alcohol free โŒโŒโŒ ๐Ÿท๐Ÿทnight in between my two fast days to see if that makes a difference….however not sure I can watch the budget ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐbeing released without going for a scotch or two to make it palliatable…we will have to see. Possibly can take my own advice and have have a red wine spritzer or two and not a scotch…that might work.. Will have to see what my willpower ,,,or wontpower”,

Anyway had a successful day today, went to exercises in the hydro pool the. To Masters and got myself a six cube wooden frame with 6 matching basket cubes to put in the lounge room next to my recliner to store all of my knitting and craft stuff so that when I sit down it is all at the ready..now to get it together…
I then went to the garden section and got the final flower seedlings for the front yard to brighten up the garden…๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒบthey were all at half price on a Tuesday….must remember that very good value…then went to the OP shop that sells good new matresses and found one that will suit a single bed ๐Ÿ›Œ๐Ÿ›Œ๐Ÿ›Œ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ดthat should work perfectly as my bed at DAughters place for just 140.00 with a 10 year warranty…can take it home and try it out and if it is not firm enough for me can get a full refund….can’t ask for more than that. My lucky day!!! Then……It was time to do something about my sewing machine….could not bring myself to give up on the old girl so I took it to the local Berina shop and put it in for a second opinion regarding repair….now it is a wait and see process again…here’s hoping….it gladdened my heart to see a number of the same red cases with machines in the , the same vintage as mine, awaiting repair…so there is still hope…

Fit..thanks for the kind words about OH and my skills. We are a good team and have renovated three houses so far, two of them were houses for removal that were recycled, after being cut in half, loaded onto trucks and moved to another area. We both love making something out of not much and transforming homes…it is so good to be able to help our Daughter with hers…really enjoying it. Our kids also helped out along the way and enjoy it as well.

Jade. So understand the keeping silent mode and keeping the peace….very hard to keep ones mouth shut sometimes and keep a happy face…๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž. Remember to pamper yourself sometimes…great work at the Chinese restraunt…you’re a legend,!, if you can do that I should be able to stick to erred wine spritzer so tonight..

Hi team, good luck PH with sticking to your guns๐Ÿ˜ŠYOU CAN DO IT
Suejen, how lovely to hear from you and I’m genuinly pleased it is all going so well for you. The love showered on you will last through all the weathers of the future ๐Ÿ˜‰โค๏ธXx
It’s been a big long day, 2 large cancers cut out, both 8 stitches, one very deep with internal stitches too. Orders not to walk, or stand too long. Must sit with feet up. 14-18 days before they can come out. Dressings change every two days. No gym allowed! HOW WILL I SIT STILL.? I have to follow orders, it’s the same spot on the leg which ulcerated but hadn’t been given theses instructions by GP so it does pay to see a specialist. My right wrist is the same! Oh well, just another hurdle! Almost dark when I got home and fed cows, pouring rain, howling winds, but just love the atmosphere, ….that’s farmingโ˜บ๏ธ Lovely lunch today, eggs on toast tonight๐Ÿ˜Œ Stay safe team if you are experiencing the same weather, it’s dangerous out there, so many trees down and damage everywhere, in fact it is the lead story on the news tonight.
Time for a whiskey before my dinner, chat later โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’•
“I speak my mind, because it hurts to bite my tongue all the time” ๐Ÿค”โค๏ธxxxx

Sorry all. Had to submit that last post before I had finished. my brother rang and then the neighbours called out and asked us in for a drink!! So almost dinner time now and no chance of getting back tonight. Talk to you all and read posts in the morning…and the next chapter Gyps. That will be after I go to the pool at 8am for Aqua classes….oh well..where does the time go.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œto you all

CG that is some major cutting on you! I’m so thankful you saw a specialist, and while I hate that you have to curtail your activities (I know that is hard for a go-getter like you!) let’s look on the very bright side that the doc is saving your life or at least your arm and leg!!๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜˜โ™ฅ๏ธ This too shall pass, it is time for you to follow doctor’s orders and get yourself back to fighting shape now those cancers are off of you!! xxx And I’m glad the wild and wooly drive is over and you are home safe and sound to the kids ๐Ÿ’› ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ

Hey PH you and your OH really are quite the team! I hope the evening with neighbors was fun๐Ÿท – Don’t give me too much credit, it is easier to be virtuous at noon, much harder later in the day๐Ÿ˜Ž I never thought about a spritzer with red wine but that’s a great idea. And your new cubby thing for knitting sounds perfect! ๐Ÿ‘ If I were there I’d put it together for you, for some reason I love doing that.

Im sure everyone has seen the news about the Biggest Loser contestants and their supposedly slower (post diet) metabolism causing them to gain it all back? So many scientific theories about why weight control is harder for some. I did watch that “why are thin people thin” doco (forget the name) and it does seem to be more than just self control at work there. Genetics? I’m pretty sure sugar/junk carbs have wrecked appetites here. Getting off those has been a big deal for me. And then of course there are those (ahem) transplants, I wonder if that’s going to be a thing!
Ok soulmate extraordinaire up for another day of duty! OH is alternately pleading to stay on his couch forever then searching online for a good backpack for our trip. I may have to stuff him IN the thing to get him to Ireland. I will make it, Fit, one way or another!๐Ÿ’šโ˜˜ I think it’s time for a FD so I can rest my brain ๐Ÿค” – love to all xxx
ps Gyps, you too with cupboard-cleaning for FD? Maybe I will give it a go, love a good trend๐Ÿ’ช

    Hi all!
Very busy day here so only getting to post now. Doc in the morning (nothing serious). Took a friend to lunch…she had a stroke recently. Beautician this afternoon. Choir practice this evening….phew!
CG, I’m so glad your skin is getting a thorough going over and treatment. I hope it all heals up quickly….sounds like a lot of stitches. Find some old movies or box sets and snuggle up with your boys and do what you’re told! As you can see, I decided not to bite my tongue! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’š
SJ, I’m so thrilled to hear how much fun you’re having and all the lovely things you’re doing with your gorgeous grandies. Hug them close and make lots of precious memories ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•
Gyps, best of luck with the next chapter….can’t wait! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช
PH, well done on the successful fd…..it feels good to get back in the groove, doesn’t it? Having done a real, old fashioned, honest to goodness fast yesterday, I’m all fired up again to stop faffing around and just fast properly! Best of luck getting your sewing machine fixed ๐Ÿ™
Jade, get a big case on wheels, knock out OH with a concoction of your choice, pack him into the case and you’ll be in Ireland before he wakes up! Then we can work our magic on him once he’s here….easy, peasy! I hope your poor brain gets a break, I’m sure you’re not finished with it just yet!
I’ve a full day ahead again tomorrow, so not sure when I’ll get to post. Best of luck, fasting or not ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’š

Hi team, chilly but “still” morning๐Ÿ˜Š So the storms have passed and peace reigns. Two blackbirds are fighting in the garden, screeching as only they do, so things are back to normal. No visible damage from the winds as I can see, but closer inspection may reveal more. They have prediced the same again, if not worse for the weekend, nature is back in charge and showing her force๐Ÿ˜ข. Chatting to Glenn last night, and as he’s still on holidays I have decided to drive down today and stay the night then come back late tomorrow๐Ÿ˜‰ I can’t get into much mischief there๐Ÿค”. We do get on so well so will head off after my usual morning chores, plus an early feed for the cows. Hopefully I’ll get to see my daughter and the grand kids too so really looking forward to itโ˜บ๏ธ Quite sore overnight as the wounds settled but fine this morning. I hope to read the next chapter of Gyps’s ongoing saga too๐Ÿ˜ณ whilst I’m in Melbourne.I obviously wont be fasting today or tomorrow but might Friday. I’ve decided to defer my gym membership for a couple of months too, I did the same last winter, but find the pool too cold and the exercises taking its toll on my back for some reason. Plus I’m chasing my tail playing catch up in my home. My sewing machine will be getting cobwebs on it the way I’m going!๐Ÿ˜ณ Things are fine really, but it’s a gun at my head and like we talk about with the routine of 5:2, just need a break without commitment.
I hope you all have a good day planned and you remember to get some down time, just for you, we aren’t robots but do treat ourselves as such so often๐Ÿ˜‰ To our holiday makers, relax, kick back and make some lovely memories. Fit and Jade, you are into count down, not long now before that big cuddle and get-to-know-you drink๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿธ so be kind to yourselves and be ready and fresh.

    “I never argue……I just explain why I’m right”๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•xxxxxx

Mornin’ CG! Glad to hear you and your homestead survived the storm. Let’s hope the next one is not so severe. That will be a lovely visit with Glenn, hearing all about his trip to Singapore. It would be lovely to meet up with Leah and the children too, since you don’t get to see them quite so often. I think it’s wise to take a break from the more strenuous exercise for the moment. You are already active enough gardening, doing chores and looking after your menagerie! Best of luck with the sewing! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’š

Morning All, just checking in to get my daily grounding before the fairies cart me off.
CG feeding cows in sleet and mud is not exactly what the doctor ordered! Don’t get those dressings wet and leave them on. Untold bugs will get through and gestate. You do not want bovine excrement anywhere near them! Stay safe!

Hi Gyps, thanks for the concern, all’s good. Both dressing with bandages over them for support and pressure, but gumboots on in oaddock cover the lower leg one and gloves and coat cover the wrist. Plus, I wont be mucking out the sheds, just feeding โ˜บ๏ธ C’mon, back to the saga, it’s become an addiction to us all, in fact may even re read from the beginning, to get my head back to who’s who again!๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜‰xxx

PH, so good to see you are happy active and into life. I can so see you leading that conga line in every word! I have not taken the time to sew for several years, but know how attached one gets to their old faithful. for sewing is a joy when the tool is so familiar it is an extension of your hands and, like driving, you whizz through the controls as the need arises automatically. good you are being faithful to yours. Mine is a treasure. It is a vintage ‘Singer slanto-matic’. The first electric automatic machine brought out by SINGER. It still goes like a dream. Fifty seven years old now.

I purchased it through a tinker (travelling salesman -remember those?) on ‘higher purchase’ and with my first paypacket as a barmaid in a canecutters, country pub.(highly paid! at 12 pounds a week, it equalled the basic wage of male labourers (nursing was 4 pounds/week at the time, not that Iwas old enough to be considered, nor inclined for the cloistered discipline of it ATT) barmaiding was highly paid and considered equal to prostitution. Such a pariah for any girl to take on, it involved losing one’s reputation and being cast down into the ‘trollop’s’ gutter, in the minds of the judgemental day – um…so I know just what Tanouie is thumbing her nose at….. but I can assure you, ladies, I was likely the only virgin bride in my district(3 yrs later, and not that I would recommend that dumb estate going into a life sentence of bondage)but my Dad needed help to purchase lumber and stuff to develop our family land in Cardwell and WTF, we were bushies who knew who we were. The female townie eejits had nothing better to do than sit around sipping tea and being too scared to live!

So, anyway, My first machine was a treadle and the new whizz bang job was my birthday present to myself. I was 13. Ahh, those were the days! Yep, Raise hell, girls. You only live forever! So what the heck, it’s all good fun. See ya downunder…Hats your up. I am off to upload chapter 8 THE ACCOUNTING. Jade, Jaddai is having some trouble getting his mischievous tail out of the Den of iniquity, He is quite liking the Devilish life, but he’s found the Gothic cathedral … and the serpent hisses… It can feel the Banshee poo dropping enlightenment for the doomed to wake up to themselves…..meanwhile tanouie is on a shopping spree in Vegas. …. Me?….well I’m a thread or two loose …. but I will get the pattern together… eventually…. xxx gyps

chuckle…. wise, CG, BACK TO THE BEGINNING IS THE VERY THING! you will need to study each layer carefully to find the threads….bugga… now which one am I on! Oh, yes, the starving human’s …tsk tsk….well get off it, you old fool, and get back to the story!……

Hi everyone, can finally catch up with you all.
CG. Sounds like serious stuff you had cut out. Please be careful…going to visit Glenn is just the ticket, surely he will make sure you behave if only for a while. Nice to see Leah and the grandies too. Enjoy!!
I agree you should give the gym a rest for a while. Such a shame you do not have a hydrotherapy pool close.
The pool exercises this morning were very full on and I just feel so great when they are finished.
Second fast day of the week well and truely under way today and I did it…Just had wine spritzer drinks last night….๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡. So back on track!! Feeling so good about myself…hope the scales have something nice to say tomorrow morning!!
I have decided to shout myself a new treadmill for Mothers Day!! There is one that is just perfect for me that enables me to still support my weight a little so that I am not fully weight bearing to start with. Just the ticket. Now to get OH to come in and get it with me. And put it together.

Jade you sure would come in. Handy at the moment with all these things to assemble. OH hates it and so it will be a challenge to get them assembled. D will halp me if I get stuck. Thank god she came home!! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
Hope your plans for visiting Fit are still on track..just wondering about that back pack. Hopefully it is just a small one for hand luggage and not a large one that the young ones take when backpacking. At our age cases with wheels are the ticket. and can just picture FITs suggestion of bringing OH over in one. Had a good laugh! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Annie. How is it going in the lock-up.?? You sure do some great voluntary stuff. So generous with your time, I hope the prisoners appreciate you and your team..

Here we go again..someone at the door. A big hi to everyone I have missed. Talk to you all soon.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Hope all is well. Still at the jail and all is well – not locked up yet
    Anne

Hi Annie, how’s it going on the job front? You’re doing a sterling job with the sinners rehab, I see. I’m sure they’ll benefit from your kindness and wisdom. Great work on the walking and 5:2! xx

Hmmm, awful quiet on here. Hope that means you’re all reading up! It’s all getting a bit unwieldy. let me know if the wanders are leading off into nowhere or if you can follow the threads, or even see them! Have a good night all xx gyps

Hey team, late start here – end of semester brings on 1001 tasks that were put off while the real work of teaching was getting done. Yikes it’s like swatting mosquitos, soon as you get one, another ten are biting you on the ankles. God forbid they let the door close on graduation day, they know we are all “out of town” (or pretend to be!) after that. Some serious retirement rumination underway….

Gyps, I loved your tales of the sewing machines! I have a fairly new (10 years = new to me, especially given our cars are all much older) Singer, have never quite figured it out, wish I could ship it to you talented types. I gave up the notion of actually making things decades ago, but thought it would be useful for mending and alterations. Nope! Not with me at the helm, anyway. ๐Ÿค”

PH be still my heart! ๐Ÿ’œ Putting together a treadmill would be great therapy for me. I even enjoy figuring out the instructions. From a writing teacher’s standpoint, they’re fascinating in their ability to be universally confusing while still conveying the nugget of necessary info. I’ve used them before in class to show how frustrating it can be for both teller and listener when they aren’t on the same wavelength.

Haven’t had a chance to get back to Tannouie and the rest of hell’s angels – I’ve been coveting the ability to sleep when head hits the pillow lately ๐Ÿ˜ด plus I’m trying to read up on books to be discussed at a literary presentation this week. Reading non-fiction is not my first choice after all the paper-grading, so I’m trying not to take that out on the author (reading without thinking). It really is a wonderful book, South of Haunted Dreams. Its pace is slow but purposefully so, as he explores the South on his motorcycle, coming to some peace with himself and history.

Gad CG I can just see you all outfitted and rubberized in the storm, out to take care of your charges ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ It is what you do, though ๐Ÿ’– and I see that in everyone here, doing what needs to be done, not without care for ourselves but often with sacrifice to help others. Looking at you there too Annie, as you sit in jail (though not locked up – good to hear!). You all give me a huge case of the warm fuzzies ๐Ÿ”ฅโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’“ Not sure what a warm fuzzy looks like, just what it feels like.๐Ÿ˜˜

Ugh it’s off to the dentist with OH and me today, won’t we be a couple of grumpy Gusses later, slurping our applesauce and mashed potatoes. Hope it won’t be too bad, mine’s just a cleaning, his is always worse and of course he hates going but pain forces him eventually.

Fit, all systems go for Ireland!! Luckily we’ve been surrounded lately by friends who think it’s just awesome, so their excitement has helped.โ˜˜๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’š Finally I think I can stop holding my breath. ๐ŸŒฌ๐Ÿ˜Š And now off to the dentist with me – hugs all xxxx

    Hi all!
Another chock a block day today getting some things for my sister….we’ve consulted her psychiatrist and he says he will admit her to hospital to investigate her latest complaints, so she should be admitted in the next day or two. Then we met with one of the administration staff of the care providers for a routine review of their services. Then it was French class. Now, I’ve just had my dinner…..sea bass and veg, mmmm! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Later, it’s my dance class! Why am I not as skinny as a rake from all that running around? It couldn’t have anything to do with fitting in a coffee and scone along the way, could it? ๐Ÿ˜‰
Gyps, forget about Tanouie et al. I just want to read YOUR life story….what have you not done or experienced? I really love reading about the things you have seen, jobs you have had, obstacles and prejudices you have overcome….all written in your own unique style! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’š
PH, well done on your successful second fast, woohoo!
Oh boy Jade, do I remember all the loose ends that had to be tied up at the end of term! Best of luck with it all! Delighted to hear all systems are go for coming to Ireland……now, breeeeeathe! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’šโ˜˜ Best of luck to you both at the dentist’s ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
CG, hope you’re still behaving yourself! Snuggling with your boys for a nanny nap or two, followed by some old movies and dare I say it…..a bit of sewing! Whatever you decide, look after yourself, you’re very precious to us! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•

Morning all. Fit your well done on second fast was appreciated but I blew it cause D came over after school and assembled my cube cupboard for me and OH cooked her a special dinner consisting, chicken, prawns , rice and lots of yummy things..paella , not sure if that spelt right, anyway it was so delicious had seconds and of course can’t have that without some nice white wine…so will try for my second fast on Friday.

Good luck with end of semester Jade, busy times indeed and of course with the dentist…will be thinking of you with all the madness involved. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž
Sending you hugs Annie for your continued kindness to those less fortunate..((((๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•))))

Gyps. Have not got back to reading from start to finish but will soon..hearing your request for some critique.. Hope you can get out in the great outdoors for a while to balance your spirit!! Love to you ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

    Must go…bridge today. Love all๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Never mind PH! Lovely times with your daughter are much more important and I doubt you went that much over…..all very healthy! I’m just back from my dance class, great fun as usual! I’m determined to do another really good fast tomorrow just like Monday…..no half measures. I can do this!

Fit, hope you’re piled into bed by now – you sure do a lot of running around! I’ve been known to catch a few scones in my teeth too – somehow they just fly at me from the coffee shop, weird isn’t it. Is that good news about your sis? Hugs for all you go through on that front. and I hope they can help her feel better so that YOU have fewer battles to face. How is the French going? I was never fluent and now pretty ignorant altogether. Not sure what I was thinking when I chose it as my college major, but it ended up being a decent prelaw path – if nothing else it forced me to keep learning stuff๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿค“

PH sounds like a lovely evening with OH and D, wouldn’t swap those for the world. I was planning a FD too and have no excuse for my swing-and-a-miss except I loved my own darn cooking tonight ๐Ÿ˜‹ – and made way too much. Two lbs grilled salmon and all manner of roasted veggies. In my defense, I’m trying to clear out the freezer before we leave, so part of the salmon may go into our very willing furry friends ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฑ Ah well, I am full of vitamins now!

The dentist got his money’s worth today, I have a cavity, could use some implants (the dental kind, please!) and OH needs all sorts of things. However, none of it urgent! I may not ever get OH back there ๐Ÿ˜† but I’ll worry about getting him on the plane first ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜โ˜˜xxx

Just home from Bridge. Jade..not good news from Dentist…pain wise or dollar wise I expect. Of well..after the wonderful trip to the Emerald Isles. Your salmon and rosted veg sounds great too, I just love Salmon.

FIt we will be fasting together tomorrow except that your to,or row and mine aren’t at the same time…however can still think of someone else fasting with me to try and keep on track…good luck with yours. Would just love to be able to dance again. You never know it might just happen after I get my Treadmill and get stronger In the leg muscles…..here’s hoping๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ

CG’s missing in action this morning…must be having too much fun with family….hope so!!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ž

Hi team, home late after a lovely time with family. We had Chinese last night, even bought some home with me, it was beautiful, and a treat having someone else do the cooking. Glenn took me out for an early Mothers Day lunch and Leah gave me a parcel to open on the day, strict orders no peeking๐Ÿ˜โค๏ธ So I do feel very loved. It was a flying visit but will go down again in a month a stay a bit longer once Danny is weaned๐Ÿ˜Š
Mowing tomorrow planned, hoping my mower works now, Julie coming to help in the garden then the weather is predicted to turn foul again over the weekend. I’m hoping/needing to fast tomorrow, but may just manage a semi, I’ll see!
I did try to post and send emails from Melbourne, but the internet wouldn’t be in it for some reason although was able to do other things, strange?
Anyway, it’s 6:45 everyone fed except me, and it’s time to put the feet up, especially my stitched leg. Glenn re did the dressing on my wrist as it was bleeding through, my own fault when packing the car and lifting things๐Ÿ˜ณ So will try to have a few easy days……….enjoy the evening/day team
“I prefer not to think before speaking……I like to be just as surprised as everyone else with what comes out of my mouth!” ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’•xxxxxxx

    Hi all!
Jade, I think it should be good news for my sister because we need to find out if her latest complaints are physical or mental and then we’ll know how to proceed with her care. She is a very complicated case, full of contradictions so we’re never sure what’s real and what isn’t with her. It’s good timing too, because my other sister, who shares the caring with me, is going away for a week. I’m loving the French classes and I’m learning loads but forgetting almost as much as I learn! Ha, ha! Is there an emoji for a brain with holes? Understanding our neighbours in Normandy is always the biggest problem but it never gets in the way of us having a terrific time with them. Wine and food are a universal language…..n’est ce pas? My sympathies with you about the dentist, it doesn’t seem fair that we have to pay to be tortured! ๐Ÿ˜
PH, I take my hat (!) off to you for learning bridge, my brain would be totally scrambled if I tried to do that…. I just don’t get it! I’m just starting my fd and yours is over so I hope it went well. For some reason, I’ve really switched on to proper, clean fasting….no messing around with spreading out the calories over the day etc, just one meal in the evening and lots of fluids. Simple! Well, that’s what I’m telling myself and, for now, it seems to be working! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Aw, CG, how lovely that Glenn and Leah are showing how much they appreciate you and how precious you are to them. I hope your mower is working properly but make sure to let Julie do the heavy work and TAKE CARE! My OH absolutely loved your quote….he reckons that’s how he lives his life! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ณ

Hi Fit, I’m glad he liked it….I always have teeth marks on my foot from it constantly being in my mouth too! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’•xxxx

Ah, CG, I also loved your quote. You speak as I write! God save the plot! Dunno where it is at the Mo. think you are right PH, I need to come up for air! Fit. I do wonder myself how I fitted all the stuff in that I can now look back on. But some experiences in a gypsy life can change drastically with the terrain in a matter of weeks, to make a jam packed year! I never stayed longer than seven years anywhere, tho I have returned to places (and jobs)for further incarceration. I so envy you your solidarity as part of the history of your community (for teachers are the cornerstone of a people’s culture). I listen with awe to you and Jade calmly discussing aptitudes in learning that require degrees and Egad, French! for a second lingo! whilst I still struggle to understand what my fingers type! Talk about CG’s quote! I must warn you, I think it may have environmental influences on a daily basis. like OH’s fixation on bowel processes (since his bowel op last year). Bwah! ha! ha! – it has become the throne room of his discontent! and thenthere was the influence od the scriptwriting thingy I did over The summer, whereby a random lecture I attended on ‘how to’, had this animated speaker who was adamant that to ‘get the juices flowing’ one MUST WRITE SHIT. and just to keep going until the blockage POPPED then the gem of wisdom would flow onto the page! Ah, a diarrhoeal delight of such wonders now awaits ya’all. Happy prospecting! lemme know if there’s a gem to be found! I may have lost my altruistic beginnings…. not to mention that of all creation!

Meanwhile, the weather is improving daily and I dug up Gawd. She is into the fishing and reef sojourns, now her OH can’t get back on the camp drafting circuit (since hip replacement last year) he’s commandeering her time on the high seas to the exclusion of much else. But hoping to get the vans lined up sooon! Now have to wait til after the 24th for Oh’s six monthly MRI (on the liver front. Always something!

Never a dull moment, Gyps! Haven’t managed to read all of chapter eight, the last couple of days have been a bit hectic. If I could write with your eloquence or even had the imagination that you have, I wouldn’t bother learning French either! Your mind is already full of many more interesting things and they’re all original! Give Gawd my best and hope all goes well with next checkup for the leprechaun himself! โ˜˜๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ

There you are CG! Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time with Glenn and Leah ๐Ÿ’• and another to look forward to soon. Anyone here surprised that CG did a bit too much heavy lifting with that post-op wrist? ๐Ÿ’ช Good thing Glenn could rewrap you! It’s so nice to feel the love, you give so much – and the Chinese goodies and ๐ŸŽ don’t hurt either ๐Ÿ’–
Gyps, I tell students the same thing – write shit, just get started. No one writes a good first draft of anything legal. They took that to heart, too – lots of shit writing! Like a brief that started with “Defedant’s arugment” ๐Ÿ˜ก
Looking forward to reading about hell again now that I finished the other book – I am loving YOUR writing!! Hugs to you and the leprechaun. xx

PH I’m with Fit on the bridge – I was in a social bridge group once, and come to think of it was in a card-playing marriage once too – I just never wanted to work that hard and call it fun. I suppose it was a mutually satisfying departure on both fronts ๐Ÿ˜‚ but they can’t say I didn’t try! (Don’t mean to make light of divorce, but it was many years ago and I’m happy to have moved on.) What’s your secret? Lots of wine?? ๐Ÿท๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜†

Fit, that’s great about sis, I suspected as much. And glad you are getting a respite while your other sis is gone. So wonderful you have found such great friends in France, despite the language difference. And oui bien sur, wine and food = good times๐Ÿท๐Ÿง€! Congrats on the new-found fasting success, too. I’m currently digging for self-control, I know it’s buried around here somewhere! But I’m at least behaving 3/4 of the day ๐Ÿ™Š which is having some good effect. Yesterday’s tally probably 700ish so not a FD but I was not hungry at all after the ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ†. Perhaps my gigantic fang of a sweet tooth is turning back into a regular molar ๐Ÿ˜ One can hope!
Another day of see sawing on the mood playground here! I seriously had to zip my lip and put it in a body bag last night. LOL WHY IS BEING NICE SO HARD SOMETIMES. Guess we have all been there! Today so far it’s all systems go again. Yay? I’m exhausted. Hugs all – love sharing the news and some laughs, keeps me going. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธxx

I have used 5:2 for and lost over 5kg which has crept back over Christmas & Easter where social events confounded my fast days. Determined to get back in the rhythm of 2 clear days of fast. I am 169cm and am currently 75kg. At least 5kg to lose…& 4 kids to manage.

Welcome Kirstyjk! I think your story is quite familiar here, it certainly is to me! Yes, I agree that getting back into the good, old, tried and tested routine is the way go. You’ve done it before and you can do it again! Best of luck! Keep checking in here and we’ll support you every step of the way. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Jade, you have a huge amount of self control….unfortunately, most of it is being used up in zipping your lip (but not always against food/drink!) ๐Ÿ˜‰ Well done on your semi fast and being good for most of the day…keep up the great work! We had some real sunshine today and I actually have my feet out, wearing sandals! Good job I had a pedicure on Tuesday, not to mention some deforestation of the legs! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Fit I think you’re onto something! – how many calories were burned at midnight by willing my brain not to release all the unpleasant critters running around up there ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‰ THOUSANDS I’m thinking ๐Ÿ˜‚ Ha. I know you do the same thing with your sis. We should weigh negative pounds.

Ah it must truly be spring if it’s pedi time ๐Ÿ’…! I haven’t had one yet, but got one before last year’s trip then wore sandals one freezing day out of sheer spite. Ended up leaving those for charity, with some op shop things I had bought just for the teaching part of the trip. This year I’m planning to pack some things from the worn-out-give-away pile, one last hurrah so to speak – so FYI I’ll be the bag lady back in the corner sipping Guinness, you can’t miss me ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿบxx

Jade, we’re expecting a mini heat wave over the weekend so the toes should get a good airing. But, I hope that doesn’t signal the end of our good weather! Blue toes are not a good look! ‘Bag lady sipping Guinness’….love it! If you stand in the right place, you might even make a few euros! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‰ Bring on the negative pounds, ha, ha!๐Ÿ˜‚ You really crack me up, I just love your sense of humour!

Hi ADers how are we all. A quick post while in the car. Gyps great to connect on FB and UP too. Have moved onto our second host family and they’re great. Much more relaxed hosts and we have a lot in common. She’s an artist and he has got into book writing…self publishing. Have a lovely house with bright decor from Mexico and Africa & other places they’ve travelled. They live in a gated community of 9000 people! All over 55’s. Immaculate place.
Grandparent duties today as DIL goes to some appts. Went to our first ever baseball game yesterday – good fun. And took the whole family to an italian restaurant for a family night. We managed to get through the whole dinner without having to leave so DIL was happy!!!
Better leave it at that for now. Will attempt again to do a photo via the tablet this time. Suejen xxxx
cg look after those stitches girl!!

SJ, every day is a new adventure! It all sounds absolutely amazing and I’m really delighted for you. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Fit please do save some sunshine for meeeee! ๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ”† OH has already foretold the rains that will greet us in Shannon and all the fun we’ll have driving on the left side again! Wheee! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Woo hoo SJ your trip sounds so grand – thrilled that the travel club brought you to such nice hosts. And all the cuddles with the family ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’• Italian food, baseball (I love going to the ball park), what could be better! Enjoy every second ๐Ÿ˜xxx

Holy cats that cupboard cleaning bug is contagious! It’s trash pickup tomorrow so I thought it was time. I’ve tossed 4 bags full of mismatched containers, unused gadgets, old vases, expired food that was gross to begin with (broccoli rice?? ๐Ÿ˜–). Seven cabinets, the freezer, and the pantry, all sorted. Keep putting these ideas in my head, you Queens of Org ๐Ÿ’ช โœจ๐Ÿ’•

Hi team, glorious morning here, the calm before the predicted storm I think. Sunday we are really in for a doozy of a day followed by a wet week๐Ÿ˜ณ So will make hay whilst the sun shines. Preparing to be out in the garden most of the day, also get a load of wasing out in the sunshine, it will be hybernation time soon enough and indoor chores.
Kirsty, welcome aboard, where are you from? We are not all Aussies so being different time zones makes replies spasmodic. Stay with it, 5:2 is forgiving so getting back to the tried and true will give you resultsโ˜บ๏ธAll the best
Jade and Fit, watching the excitement build is contagious ๐Ÿ˜Š You are in for a fabulous time, as are we, hearing about the exploits and seeing the expected pics๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜ฑ
Suejen, what a terrific time you sound to be having. Lovely hosts and baseball games, Italian dinner, life is treating you and smiling. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Shower time, full day of chores ahead, have a wonderful day team annd make the magic happen…..
“Becareful when you follow the masses…..sometimes the M is silent!”๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’•xxxx

Wow Jade! Those Russians have been well and truly whupped! Unbelievable! I must resume my endeavours at once! I’m having cupboard envy! โ˜น๏ธ

Mornin’ CG! We’re expecting a very fine weekend with lots of sunshine. We’ve had the coldest April in nearly 30 years…brr! So I’m looking forward to wearing some lighter clothes and showing off my toes! I hope you’re minding yourself but that’s probably a silly statement ๐Ÿ˜›

Jade, it’s a great feeling isn’t it. When I got home yesterday, I made a coffee, and went to my “clean and tidy ” pantry, oh how I smiled, it’s a personal reward isn’t it? Why we hang on to so much is rediculous. I keep waiting for that rainy day when I’ll use it, but it just doesn’t happen……..๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’•well done xxxx

Fit, I’ll be good, I have too๐Ÿ˜‰ Enjoy the sun, it does have a way of running through our veins doesn’t it โ˜€๏ธ xxxxx

Hi all, beautiful sunny day here. Went to the pool again today at 8am..great workout. Then went and purchased the Teadmill. So it is all systems go on the fitness track for this old girl… Can’t wait for it to be set-up on Sunday!!
Fit and Jade, regarding the bridge..I am doing it to keep my brain active post retirement. It is not really what I would call fun, very challenging but I do like a bit of a challenge, and it is rewarding each time I remember something else…a long way to go yet. No wine involved as the classes are at 9am. My fun cards โ™ ๏ธโ™ฃ๏ธโ™ฃ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒare when OH and I get together with friends and start with canasta, then 500, then euchre ..as the night progresses and more wines consumed we can only manage euchre and have to have a stand with a card in it displaying what is trumps….as we regularly forget just that…but extremely fun nights๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿพ๐Ÿน๐Ÿน๐Ÿบ๐Ÿป๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ… Fit your French lessons would be keeping your mind active and your Students are still keeping you on your toes Jade..

Does not sound to me like you are being good CG…..I’m sure gardening and mowing are not on the list of things that your surgeon would have in mind for you to be doing at this early stage …you sure struggle with the meaning of taking it easy!!๐Ÿค•๐Ÿค•๐Ÿค’๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

SJ. Great to hear you are having such a fabulous time…..๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

Kirsty…good for you getting back on the 5.2 plan…you know how it works from before and if you are looking for a bit of support this is the place to be..good luck!!๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

Time for me to get going and have a look at my cupboards…everyone else is having so much success I might have to try it today!!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Fit, Re your ‘coldest April’. Our stats say we have just come through the hottest April on record. Oh my, being connected across the world is really bringing the big picture into focus, ain’t it? Poor little fairies are having an uphill battle! Life and all our rubbish is getting in the way of life as we want it to be. But maybe just want the fairies to fix the fallout, without any curtailment of our frolic? (at least in too many cases for the ecology to sustain)but it won’t stop until we feel the Earth love that she needs returned. I wonder if that’s what drew my pen to this tale? When it came up as a tag for a competition #EarthLove. and #JustwriteIt.(finally, warts and all!) And on an invention of another world, which would be hard to imagine, in terms of being better than the one we’ve got. I’m not finding one, even with my epic habit of going round the bend in pursuit of my funny bone. Which has ever been the light in my tunnel. “If ya’ don’t laugh, ya’ cry, mate, take the fun road!”. Frivolity is my holy grail(much to the annoyance of the doomsday brigade) There’s definitely too much shit in the world! A challenge from my cheeky niece, is the less than altruistic motivator. And the cupboard (which I now note you are ALL cleaning) creaked open on my whole life mess! So I don’t claim any enlightenment, but WTF! Influences are definitely at work. My step daughter who also dabbles in oil paints, recently posted one of her latest pieces (which I just found and done before I published, but while I was writing) on Facebook. I hadn’t been online or in touch with the kids much lately and they all take it for granted that I’m on a writing binge – (away with the fairies…. as the brat of my crew puts it) It’s amateur standard, but all about ‘Mummy’s little goblin hut in the magic swamp,’ and there are fairies and even an angel sitting in the tree (and definitely nothing like anything she’s ever done before) Who knew I would find so much to blurb about Celestial affairs?!!! Alzeimers looms! Ta for your lovely comments, both you and Jade are definite inspirations to my funny bone.

Oh and then along came Suegen popping up on my facebook with this masterpiece of her hubby’s. – It is the Rainbow Rowan’s forest of my mind’s eye….. interesting.
     photo 12983299_1712903518993238_5728788000298873369_o.jpg

How can the little people lose with the mighty forest rowing their light rays? Be optimistic. We CAN still save the world ! I feel it in me water! Have a nice day, all xxx gyps

PS Hats, We crossed – I rest my case. You are wise to keep your brain sharp….but do not worry… you are doing just fine in the pickup department. Happy cupboard -ing to you! I do hope you find yourself! xxx gyps

But…JADE, there is on practical possibility to help your situation re OH’s depression; Check the side effect listed in the fineprint of any meds he may be taking. The statin drugs for cholesterol management and most anti histimines, as well as anti-depressants themselves, can have reversal effects. and certainly suppressing cholesterol interferes with brain function. Sometimes the ‘cure’ is worse than the complaint. and not going into ratbag suggestions that ‘all meds are bad and lets just go back to the dark ages’, but some rethinking is going on in the background that won’t reach the guidelines anytime soon if BIG PHARMA can help it. Statins is a baddy for causing early alziemers and depression.

The other clue is limit the news fixation if possible (I’m considering sabotaging the telly here for the leprechaun’s therapeutic benefit! but he has It on his laptop, so I am not ready to sacrifice my connection to this lifeline!)- anyway, I do think a lot of the world’s troubles are just manufactured hype. But the ecology situation is getting serious when we are freezing and frying in our opposite poles. Sound familiar? (well that’s what the fairies reckon, apparently…hell needs a little kickback! )

. Like GG says of our reef around Cairns. The waters are heating up. And the junk dumping is compounding the issue. Gawd is reporting the same thing on the scarcity of fish and the wrecking of their habitats. We must take an optimistic view, tho, Depression is definitely on the rise, and if one subscribes to the ‘law of attraction’ theory, it is all the fearmonging compounding itself. And the news monster is thriving on it. I long ago turned off the news, personally. Shane made me very aware of the machinations of commercial news mongers digging up as much dirt as they possibly can to fill pages and pre- gazetted air slots. It was one of the reason he got out of commercial TV and took on his own agency. Only taking the ‘spotters’ assignments, like disaster/storm chasing that were what he called ‘positives he could do to inform the people of what was happening to their world (and their relative/friends in rescue situations. He had a few major run-ins with them editing stuff out that ‘took the edge off the calamity aspect’. “it’s all hype to get ratings. “The !@#$!! greedy assholes don’t want positives!”. I can hear him saying that as plain as day. He finally walked out on the Nine network when they wanted him to cover a controversial funeral (in the bikie wars) and get shots of the grieving relatives, along with hopeful emotional outbursts re vengeance. “The bastards are trying to keep the war going through my imagery. It’s good for business!” . I think I was too busy with my own evangelistic project to save trees and cancer victims from the system to realize how concerned he was for the future of his kids. And tho he fought it, anxiety took it’s toll. If you can find your Hubby’s funny bone, dig it up by fair means or foul. but in the end it is not your job to cheer him up at the expense of your own laughter. Believe me, I can hear it struggling. A little plain speech is sometimes required. loved ones in pain, can be selfish without realizing it, and drain us to extinction. But if you fall down, he’ll be lost. SET SOME LIMITS ON YOUR TOLERANCE LEVELS. ONE HAS TO BE CRUEL TO BE KIND SOMETIMES. LUCK. XX GYPS

    Hi all!
Gyps, I totally agree with you about the media and the way they spread and exaggerate the worst possible angle on everything. It does feed into the national/worldwide psyche and contributes to an atmosphere of doom and gloom. We have a very serious problem with suicide in Ireland and a new phenomenon of suicide clusters which is alarming and worrying. I think social media is hugely to blame for this. We have got to show that there is hope and that there are things we can all do to make a difference. What a principled and courageous son you raised, but no surprise there! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ I’m quite alarmed to hear your warnings about statins because I have to take them…..all my siblings are on them because our high cholesterol seems to be genetic and doesn’t respond to diet…..eeek! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Loving those paintings, what gifted people we are surrounded by on this thread! Yes, humour is definitely the way through most of life’s crises so thanks for the many smiles and laughter you inspire with your posts! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ž
CG, I hope you have finished whatever needed doing chorewise and that you are relaxing and taking things easy and minding your stitches…..you are under orders from all the gang here! Yes, the sunshine is infectious and I’m in 3/4 length trousers today with sandals! Yippee! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
PH, great workout at the pool, you’re very dedicated. Best of luck with the treadmill….you’ll be smashing that conga line at the next WTF! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜‚
I’m very happy with my weigh in this morning, 800g down. So getting back to basics is really working, I can’t believe how long it has taken me to cop on to that simple fact! Duh!! No more faffing around for me….two strict fasts per week from now on, no excuses! Ok, better put my face on and go do weekly chores for my sister and then enjoy the rest of this fabulous weekend! Love and hugs to all! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•
