  • Good Morning One and All
And Foxy…. woooooooooo Hooooooooooo!!!! Awesome awesome Awesome. I am sure that the feeling to fit into a dress will be amazing. Brag about it and enjoy the feeling, well deserved again.

Bali2015, I am so impressed with the effort that you put in with your exercises. It really is commendable.

Go Gal…. WOW, I think that you can write an inspirational book. Very beautiful words. Thanks

CG, you still ate upto your TDEE, and its important to enjoy here and there. So glad that you were able to squeeze in a decent size chocolate bar…. yummm

I fasted yesterday and finished my day at 340 cals. So happy with that. Today is a feast day for me and back to fasting again tomorrow.

Looking forward to Friday weigh in results now!!! All the best to all of us……

Till then, as CG said, its Hot today so drink up lots of fluids. Enjoy!!!

A bit jealous of your warm weather. It’s been getting chillier and chillier here on the other side. I’ve been looking at Brazilian cut bikinis all day to retain some Summery feelings. I’ve decided that this will be my new goal, btw. I’m going to start focusing less ont he weigth and more ont he shape. By next Summer, I have to be rocking a Brazilian cut bikini. I wonder how that will go lol.

My next FD starts in a about 7 hrs, I’m having a drumstick (sans skin) and a courgette/cherry tomato oven dish for dinner.

Good luck everyone! Keep being awesome!

FC you’ll be in that bikini before your winter is over, strutting your stuff in front of the fire lol, keep the faith, your AUSSIE DETERMINATION will get you there…CG

Brr…..I hear you FC….cold and rainy down south of WA too! Might not be working this arvo, a day in the shed maybe….what an awesome goal….you will be wearing that bikini before you know it

CG…..I’ve had many a Friday like you had yesterday since starting 5:2…..yet here I sit 2 months later and 7 kg lighter…like you said 5:2 is very forgiving, and we all need times like that otherwise life would be very dull indeed

I’ve started the day really well with a visit to the gym…..have been avoiding this even though I have paid for a year up front…..I do prefer walking my dog as exercise and got talked into a membership, so may as well use it….I see they are starting yoga classes which is something I’ve always wanted to try, so may give them a go.. anyway I did half hour all up on cross trainer, treadmill and rowing machine and burnt 200 cals so that must be good

Fast day menu……leftover salad and tuna for lunch, plus 200g rockmelon (yum), then a warm beef salad for dinner

Have a great one everyone remember your AUSSIE DETERMINATION and lets kick those scales again tomorrow πŸ™‚

Hi to you all, fasting today and am freezing cold and its 25c here at 1130 so re read all your posts and am drinking heaps of warm water from the kettle. have downloaded my fitness pal and lunch sorted for 2pm baby spinach and salmon in spring water with the tiniest of fetta cheese.
Im getting my Aussie Determination from all of you , what a fabulous group.

Hi Prue that’s why we are all here, spreading confidence and reassuring your AUSSIE DETERMINATION gives strength. It nice to see that others have the same issues and also how we have solved them between us. Keep up the good work…..CG x

The 2nd FD is almost over….. so looking forward to dinner. Silverside , carrots and broccoli…. a touch of white sauce on the side.

Fast days are becoming easy & pleasurable when they come round.
Will the needle on the scales moves for us all tomorrow?….. Who cares if it does’nt… There is 365days/52 wks. for them to change…. IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!… See you at the weigh in…. Have a fabulous evening……Go Gal

At what time is everyone weighing in tomorrow (or should I say today for you lovely lot)?

Morning FC, we usually weigh first thing in the morning after a trip to the loo, to empty whatever possible. I haven’t weighed yet, still having my first coffee but will soon. Good luck mate….CG

    Good morning

Weigh in day down 200 grams was expecting more oh well down is good.

Yesterday Thursday fast first fast day that I was 487 calories. First fast day under the 500 usually end up between 500 and 600.

Down 8.8kg pushing to the big 10 in next couple of weeks.

Hope everyone has downward results, fasts done for the the week.

    Have a great day

Good morning everyone – Despite some thinking I have dropped off the wagon – I have ticked the box for notifications so I read all the messages as emails at work. Its too hard to reply on my phone so wait until Fridays and use my desktop.

Had a shocker carb crave last week and put on 2.2 kg!!! You know when you go scouring the pantry for anything tasty and quick. I ended up eating packets of my daughters Tiny Teddy biscuits – dunked into salty creamy Lurpak butter – YUM. After 4 packets per day the scales and my clothes chastised me and shocked me back into submission.

I have fasted 3 days again this week – lost 2.8kg and and are now at my lowest weight. I have done Michelle’s 12WBT and Geoffs Body Trim in the past and they both recommend a treat day per week. Might be something in that.

    All the best..Jen

Morning everyone, I to am hanging in the back round ( i read the posts most days) but I don’t have a lot to say lol, I weighed in this morning and I lost 500g this week ( put on 100g last week ) so in 7 weeks I have lost 6.8kg gotta be happy with that, hope everyone else had a good weigh in this morning, Cheers WillBfit.

Good morning! Another beautiful day on the mid North coast …… YAHOOOOOOO WEIGH IN DAY!

Have just come off the scales at.7.20am DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME in NSW.
    Today’s weight-77.2kgs
    SW_82.2kgs
    Total loss in 8wks of 5:2 = 5.2kgs.

Slowly its happening and I am seeing and feeling the results. Hubby has noticed the subtle changes in places where it matters, also lost 1 inch off my waist… that is if I measured correctly. Tummy is smaller…….YES YES YES!!!!!!

Hope you all have positive results today…..Please do not become discouraged if the scales do not show what you expected ….there will be weeks like this..be strong ,use your AUSSIE DETERMINATION… go back , read the previous posts , we have all been there ….. HUGS to you all…….GO GAL

    Good Morning One and All
I am all excited about weigh ins today (Mine is tomorrow πŸ™‚ )

Bali2015… Yahoooooo, you broke the plateau. I know it seems a small loss, however the trend is continuing to be downwards and I am guessing that you plateaued as you did not have lots to loose. That’s actually good news

Yorkygirl65, amazing amazing amazing loss 2.8 kgs in a week is huge…. great to see that you lost all you gained plus more…

Willbfit, I guess I don’t have much to say too, but I just come here and write my feelings and everyone in this thread is very tolerant of whatever I write πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ;-), So please feel free to say a hello or share your 5:2 experiences, sorrows and joys. We all love that!!! and 6.8 kgs in 7 weeks is awesome, have you been exercising too…

Go Gal, thinking of you as you did your b2b fasts and what a brave girl you are!!! and just read your post 5.2 kgs gone forever, really yahoooooooooo. Well and truly in the running to get to 75 kgs by 15 Dec. only 2.2 kgs more to go for first challenge!!!

Waiting for more weigh in results, come on CG, Foxy, GG, Kvetina, Mrealda, FC, Andrewofcastlemaine lucyvi, and all others…. (Apologies if I got your screen name wrong or missed anyone)

Fast day for me today. Again, i plan on using 150 cals for my cuppa and drinks throughout the day and rest 350 cals to be used at dinner time. I don’t think that scales are going to move for me tomorrow due to water retention and bloating this time of month. However, I am still determined to weigh myself on my regular weigh in day.

    Good luck everyone!!!

Well good morning team. No good news for me this week in fact up 300g but not worried. My body is having another week of adjustment. Very bloated last three days and countless sleepless nights for some reason, again, possibly readjustment. I must admit I often wonder if I eat enough on ” normal” days” to make the “fast days” count! If I’m only eating around 1000 cals not through design but just choices, my fast day of 500 is only halving it! Funny how such a simple concept as the 5:2 can bring up so many damn questions. Come on now, tell me the good news. By the way, I’m sticking to the ” original” plan of two fasts a week Monday and Thursday to get a better intake and try to make the fast count over all. It makes sense to me somehow, so I’ll try….CG xx

Howdy! I had ‘date night’ with hubby last night and enjoyed a good amount of food. I still hit 72kg this morning. Woo hoo. Fast day again for me today. I love this thread. Thank you all for the support. Good luck for the day everyone. X Reldz

Hi all, sounds like everyone is doing great! Next couple of weeks will be busy so decided to go 4:3 this week (Mon. Wed. Fri.) so today is a fast day for me. Weigh-in tomorrow morning. Feeling good about it.

Dtum, dtum ,dtum……drum roll? Somehow I have lost a whole kg this week, and it’s 2 months on Sunday since I started 5:2 ….I have lost 7.8 kgs! From 83.6 down to YES 75.8!!!! 75 kgs is on the horizon….which will be half way point for me in my weight loss journey this year as it will be 15 kg lost and I want/need to lose 30 all up….best of all my BMI has gone under 30….so I am now longer obese….just very overweight….that matters somehow to me.

I am amazed that I still lost a kilo, even though I had my trip away. Getting back into my fasting straight away on Monday & Thursday and having a very, very good two days between fasts, plus exercise have all been worth it πŸ™‚

So November stats (goal to lose 3.1kg):

    SW 77.1 GW 74 CW 75.8 Lost 1.3/3.1 (43%) 14/11/2014

GC….I am sure that you have really lost some weight or are the same…..I saw a post on here that someone weighed their morning coffee and it was 400g! Can you just have a sip of hot water to get things going in the morning? I also think that we need to do a combination of days, sometimes a splurge over TDEE and sometimes staying well below when not on fast days…..I RARELY count cals on regular days

Bali…..200 grams is wonderful! I always picture mince steak when I think about the amount of weight lost….200g is a lot of meat/fat

Willbefit….6.8 in 7 weeks is awesome…..500g a week is what we all would love to lose each week.

Yorky….I have had times like that too….I bought little boxes of cereal for grandaughter for when she sleeps over….and one night had a carb bust out and ate 3 boxes! The good thing is you got right back into it and the temporary weight gain came off. Well done!

GG….you are going sooo well! And its so nice when hubby notices and says how good you are looking!

Marelda…..how nice for you and your hubby! 72 kg! Well done!

AndrewC and FB….will be hanging out to see your results tomorrow, have an awesome fast day.

    That’s enough from me πŸ™‚

Hi Fatbuster, yes I do exercise I do boot camp one day a week (sat morning), boxing one night a week (tues ) and I try to get out and walk/run with the dog 4 days a week, that can be a bit hard tho we have our own business and we leave home for work at 7 am and we aren’t home till about 6 ish of a night, and thats 6 days a week ( not that that’s an excuse lol) but to go for run I have to get up at 5 am and some times that’s just a bit to early/hard lol. I normally have Fridays as my rest day, as its the end of the week and we stay back at work latter as well ( sorry it took so long to answer but the power went off half way thru ( was thinking I would have to start again, but it was all still here ) and has only just come back on, Cheers Willbfit.

You girls and Andrew are absolute wonders, congratulations to you all, Foxy 75???? WOW you made it, apart from our 5:2 working so well, look how your AUSSIE DETERMINATION has kicked it….well done team….CG xx

    3/10 5.5kg total loss
    10/10 6.3kg total loss
    17/10 7.1kg total loss
    24/10 7.9kg total loss
9/11 7.3kg total loss (put on 600g on holiday)
14/11 8.0kg total loss back on track after 2 fasts πŸ™‚

Sorry, I will try and catch up will all the posts and news I have missed soon, not that well at the moment.

A little trivia, we went to the Mogo Zoo and found out the tigers (and probably other animals as well) are fasted 2 days a week as its best for their health. Seems like the 5:2 is good for all creatures great and small.

Hi again twice in one day

Thanks for encouragement fat blaster last week I just ate too much. I knew that and did it anyway didn’t put on and am still paying this week ie 200g loss. Melbourne cup day indulgence many drinks food and last weekend well not good.

I still exercised and fasted twice.

I have about 30kg to go. But it’s so good to think the past 8kg are gone forever.

Put my belt on tightest hole this morning will have to replace without belt would fall down. Another win.

Bali2015 I’m glad your looking at the positives and not any negatives. Our 5:2 does let you live a normal life, it’s not strict daily and is very very forgiving. I didn’t lose this week in fact gained a couple of hundred grams, but that could still be food stuck in the intestine, it’s not a worry. We are on this journey for the long haul and will look back in 12 months time and laugh at how picky we all are over a few grams. It’s the overall loss and so we hear, health benefits. Your doing really well, so let your AUSSIE DETERMINATION guide you, even “Michael” only ever did two fast days a week and look how well it worked for him. Anything more stringent is too hard to sustain, and I know I’m a lot lighter than this time last year and with a new year on the way, will be looking forward to that too…..CG xxx

Hi all! I’m a bit busy getting ready right now, but I’ll come back later to read all your weigh-in comments a bit later.

I weighed in at 65.4 last week, now 65.1, so another 300g gone.

    SW 85.5
    CW 65.1

So an overall loss of 20.4 kg so far (apparently that’s 1.13kg/month).

Have a great day everyone (especially the Friday Fasters).

That’s brilliant FC, how long did all that loss take. You must be so thrilled, CONGRATULATIONS from us all…..CG xx

    WELL DONE
    TO
    EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

    !!! ……….CONGRATULATIONS………..!!!

    …………………………………………………………………………GO GAL XX

Hi Bali, isn’t it great when clothes stop fitting because they’re too big (not too tight)? Definitely the best incentive to keep at it.

Wow Kvetina, I did not know that. That’s interesting. I wonder how long they’ve been doing that.

Wow, Foxy, that’s amazing. You’re all losing weight so fast, it’s inspiring.

GG, well done. I’ve just knocked off an inch from my waist as well. It feels great when I get to change my measurements on my log.

CG, I did my first fast April 30th 2013. As I someone else said on these boards when I just got here, I’m definitely taking the scenic route. I was terrified of getting loose skin so I was determined to do it very slowly. Plus I really didn’t control my regular days very well. It took me about a year to feel like my relationship with food was somewhat normal. I think I had an epiphany when I put on almost 5kg in a month even though I hadn’t done anything different. I had to actually figure out my TDEE and realised I was still overeating on regular days. I now don’t get how I managed to lose over 10kg eating what I did. No wonder it backfired. Thjat was last February and I’ve lost 8kg since, so plateaus really don’t last if you stick with the programme. They often have nothing to do with what you’re eating or doing. It’s all about the downward trend, not the individual weigh-ins. Soon your weight loss will pick up again, I’m sure.

Great post FC, sorry for the delay in response, I’m watching the cricket and lost time. I agree about the loose skin. I’ve noticed more wrinkles on my face of late because that’s where a lot of my weight loss is. ( laugh lines are getting a bit deeper I guess) but if that’s a side affect I’ll deal with it, the Aussie sun has done so much damage and I’ve always been out doorzy so I accept that. I hope my story runs parallel with yours as I’m doing it slowly, most days I watch cals but some just go way over because of bad choices. Not junk food but gustiness. Just trying to satisfy a craving? I’m in it for the long haul, it becomes second nature and I do look forward to the cleansing of fast days. My TDEE is different on every site so I balance between them. I expect some stagnate weeks, that’s very normal and I’m not in a race, it’s a joint journey of individuals. Have a great day….CG xx

My first week on this new lifestyle and down (unofficially as my chosen weigh in days are Monday’s) 2kg. This means back in two digit weights. I’m so thrilled. I’ve been reading everyone’s posts- you’re all so amazing and supportive it’s very inspiring. Today was fat food Friday at work. The group chose fish and chips. Normally I’m the first to dive in for a pumpkin cake. Today I chose grilled fish, some ancient grain salad and some beetroot and mint salad. OMG why ever did I avoid quinoa? It’s so yum, and you don’t need much to be truly full. Googling recipes and it’s making an appearance on my menus from now on.
    good,luck for the weekend everyone!

CG, I never ate unhealthily either, just way too much. And I didn’t even realise it until last year. TBH, I want to be dure I keep myself happy on this WOE, so a weekly treat is important. And an occasional piece of dark chocolate with hazelnuts at night. The only way for it ti be sustainable is not feeling like I can’t have certain foods. It’ll just make me crave them more. I also love now fresh I deel after fasting. When I was in Barcelona this September, I decided not to fast whilst staying at a hitel, I felt so bloated after 5 days. I guess the not-so-tropical Belgian weather has its perks. No sun = less wrinkles πŸ˜‰

Hi Sezzie! Welcome. You’re going to enjoy yourself here, I think. Hope we can contribute to your journey, that’s why we’re here. It’s astounding how fast your body resets when you start fasting, isn’t it? Feel free to come complain, cheer, chat and brag on this thread!

I hope everyone is having a good day (fast or not). I took some spare hours to turn some of my trousers that have gotten too big and cut/hemmed them so now I have 4 new pairs of shorts. They’re still on the bigger side but not as noticeable as the long slacks. I’ve never owned corduroy shorts before :p

Good morning team, have a great day no matter what your doing. I’m lunching with a few girls I used to work with and wearing a long skirt I haven’t been able to fit ” comfortably” in, now quite loose! See, even if numbers on the scales arne’t kind, your clothing tells a different story. I’ll be opting for the cajin chicken salad…no chips and still be enjoying myself……take care and be good to yourself…..CG xx

    Good Morning All
Weigh in for me today. Not a big loss, but still lost 400 grams (0.4kg). Still better as I was not expecting any loss this week due to that time of the month.
Starting Weight on 4 Oct 2014: 84.5 kgs
Current Weight on 15 Nov 2014: 78 Kgs
Total loss in 6 weeks is 6.5 kgs
So guess, I should be happy as the average weight loss per week is still a little over 1 kg.
I did 3 fasts this week on Mon, Wed and Fri, so today and tomorrow are non fast days for me too. I just need to make sure that I don’t give in when hubby opens a bottle of wine tonight πŸ™‚ I want to avoid any alcohol this week due to water retention. So, I am saying to myself, STAY STRONG!!! LOL

FC, what an inspiring story. So good to know more about your journey. I can imagine that you have a totally new body in 1 year’s time (claps, claps, claps)

Bali2015, as you know we all are in it together and sail the same boat. So lets keep up with it and in the end it will get us to our goal for sure.

Kvetina, amazing Trivia. This really shows that the health benefits of fasting are recognised everywhere.

Willbfit, I am so inspired by the effort that you put in to squeeze in time for exercises. Hope I can learn something from you…

CG, enjoy your lunch and I am sure that your friends are going to be surprised to see a slimmer you…

Sezzie, welcome and well done. Its amazing that you are already making good food choices.

AndrewofCastlemaine, thinking of you and your good news story for this week’s weigh in.

    Happy Weekend all and Enjoy!!!

FB that is great news, look at your over all loss, not just this week and that is so acceptable. Enjoy your life apart of our 5:2 and have a wine with your hubby, it’s part of your way of life and 5:2 doesn’t interfere with that. I had a lovely moroccan chicken salad, tongue still burning, only one Jimmy and coke, bit of fresh fruit shopping on the way home, omelette tonight then fresh fruit salad with a hig dob of yoghurt. Have a fun week end every one….CG xx

Hi everyone πŸ™‚ I’ve just got back from two weeks in beautiful East Gippsland. I’ve been here about two hours reading back over the posts. We didn’t have internet where we were, and very limited phone service (welcome to the country ! ) So a lot has been happening! I didn’t think I would be fasting too often while away, but driving down two days and back helped! Also, I saw a program before I left about a group of people who went without breakfast versus a group who dieted with breakfast included. Guess which group lost weight??? No breakfast! Seems all these years of having to have brekky , drummed into us, isn’t necessarily the way to go. I was quite happy that I only gained 700g as other years it would have been a whole lot more. I’m fasting today (Sat) as well as the usual M & Th. I packed my jeans ,too, because it has been known to be cold in Vic… they were so loose, I tried on a smaller pair in the local K mart, and they fit!! I was in the cubical going YES! YES! They FIT! I just about floated out of the shop πŸ™‚
Enjoying a miso soup (28 cals) and a cup of finely chopped mushrooms (18 cals) for a bit of extra substance. No brekky today. Later…probably salad and smoked salmon, my fd treat.
Cheers all, good luck for the week ahead.

Glad you had a great time Lindanaf! What was the breakfast/no breakfast program called? I’m sure there’s many of us would love to see it. I read an article in ‘The West Australian’ newspaper a couple of weeks ago that said the same thing.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. X Reldz

Hi Marelda, this is the link to the show http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article/8921457/could-skipping-brekkie-be-the-key-to-weightloss
It was very interesting : )

Hi all, sorry for late post – long day bumping into a new venue for a play opening Friday. Tomorrow tech rehearsal, Wednesday final dress rehearsal and Friday opening night. That’s why I tried 4:3 this week Mon-Wed-Fri as the next few weeks will be a bit crazy and I might not be able to stick to 5:2 each week.

So… Monday, fast day of 550 calories and a hard 4km walk around the lovely Castlemaine Botanical Gardens at 6kph average. Tuesday, up at 4am to head to Melb. for a fortnightly day at a client – which includes a ridiculous breakfast meeting thingy at maccas. Overshot my TDEE that day by a couple of monster flat whites πŸ™‚ Honestly, a maccas “standard” flat white would fill a CFA fire bucket! Wednesday another 550 cal fast day plus the 4km power walk. According to the Runkeeper app the walk at that speed burns about 310 calories. I love how MFP gets all worried on fast days that I’m not eating enough as if it forgot I went to maccas the day before πŸ˜€ Thursday was a sensible non-fast eating day and another 4km walk. Friday a fast day again and another 4km walk – I actually enjoy the hard slog of the fast walk – I use it to rehearse my lines for the play in my head – people around me probably think I’m a nutter πŸ™‚ Ate a little more on Friday – an extra half punnet of strawberries and extra jalna yoghurt – all up about 690 cals. No guilt.

Sooooooooooo this morning after 3 fast days, 1 maccas breakfast in a pig-out exhausting 20 hour work day and around 17 km walked for the week at 6 kph…. I got rid of a full half a kg! 89.2 last week and 88.7 this morning, Gotta be happy with that! It works out to 4 kg lost since the beginning of October.

If you are struggling to accept the “fast diet” concept – let me tell you this thing works! The 5:2 business, the premise that it is flexible enough to fit around your lifestyle, all of that. I like gadgets so I find that using the MyFitnessPal (mfp) app for logging food and RunKeeper (rk) for logging exercise really helps – and you can configure them so rk passes your exercise calories burnt to mfp.

Sorry this is such a long post – promise I’ll end soon πŸ™‚

Despite the book, the science, the iphone apps and all that, I think the best thing about all this is the AUSSIE DETERMINATION group. Thanks so much CG for getting this show on the road. Thanks to everybody who contributes and encourages and for me personally, special thanks FB for being my unofficial mentor and encouraging me to keep in touch.

Thanks Lindanaf. It is interesting. My brother in law has been doing this for weeks. He sent me a photo the other day (partly as a joke) of his six pack! With fasting and walking the dog, weights a couple of times a week, he is looking pretty good. He knows it too. I told him he was a show off. Then I said he was actually an inspiration. He just laughed.

Andrew – good luck with the show.

    Night night all.
    Reldz

Morning all. I could not post yesterday, We had a family day to comemerate the passing of my husband’s MUM six months ago. We had not seen each other since the funeral, so very special.

FLEMISH- I send you the sun! well done.
Have an awesome Sunday everyone. Conquer the week ahead with your AUSSIE DETERMINATION……..GO GAL

Good morning team Andrew lovely to hear from you I didn’t realise you were an actor, good luck with your show and even with the difficulty of schedule your doing something right with such a great loss.
Another fast day is looming for most of us tomorrow. Another day of good cleansing heathy eating. Are you prepared? Are you ready? Don’t go over board, this is an easy prooven way of life, it has to be sustainable because if you change your stringent dieting you may gain with all your hard work down the drain. I know we get greedy wanting the scales to move faster but give them time, they will, they have to with what you have learnt about food choices, fasting days and your whole new outlook on this way of life. You are all, each and everyone of you, showing terrific weight loss and health improvements and the best attitudes on life. Have a great Sunday team and Lindnaft welcome back and thanks for sharing the link. I guess most of us on 5:2 have been following that practice since we began, particually on fasting days,
    Take care all…….CG xxx

Love the threads and the encouragement!LOVE AUSSIE DETERMINATION!
I have been reading all the posts for the last 2months and the motivation keeps me on track .

Thought it was time to join in and stop being shy.

I fast Mon and Thursday,I am vegetarian. Have soup and egg stirfry on fast day and lots of green tea and water. I love this way of life. The weight has been coming off at around 500g a week, but last week I lost a whole kg.

Foxycoxy I am jumping up and down with joy with you and many others that have had the experience of finding clothes from before weight gain and finding they fit now.

Personally I was doing a spring clean and declutter last week and I came across some of my favourite (still fashionable after 13 years)dresses. And they fit! Looking in the mirror the years just faded away. What a bonus!

After 2 months people are starting to comment on my weight loss and I think my confidence shows as I am walking taller!

    GO AUSSIE DETERMINATION!

Thanks Countrygal for your warm welcome!

Some extra stats…..hope it encourages the newbies, anyone!

I initially was aiming for just being healthier.I had High BP..high everything! Not a very well person. Or very happy!I was a size 10 person stuck in a size 18 body being offered size 20 clothes.I needed a wake up call!

I started at BMI 28(size 16/18) aim was to get to BMI 25(size 10)

I am currently sitting on BMI 26 ( fitting into size 10)

Slow weight loss over 2 months. I am happy, I wanted to retrain my brain when it came to food choices.I now feel confident in any decisions I make over what foods I want , even if its deep fried. I know and trust that it will be OK.

I have just gone over what I have written about the size in clothes changes and I feel a real shift…wow Ive just gone from size 16/18 to size 10(I think I have to sit down a minute!I never thought it was possible. I had tried to accept the bigger version of myself, the sicker version of myself, the older version of myself. Well you know we can add many variations to this thread. Thankyou 5.2, you have saved my life in more ways then one.I shall finish ranting……(steps of her soap box)
    GO AUSSIE DETERMINATION!

PS. LOST: I am still trying to find my sense of humour it was lost somewhere along the way…..

No vegimumma I think it is tact and thank you for your inspiring story for others to share, well done….CG xx

Wow veggiemumma! You have done so well over just a couple of months! You must be over the moon! Do a ΓΏeehaa happy dance … just to nudge that sense of humour back out πŸ™‚

    I ate toooo much!!!!

    Hi everyone
I’ve been researching the 5:2 for weeks now and only stumbled across this page today. After hours of reading I’m convinced this is the place and program for me. Congratulations. ……You have all done so very well!!
And I love the support and encouragement that is found here.
Tomorrow will be my first fast day and I’m feeling very excited. I’ll weigh in officially in the morning but I think I’m 82kgs with my goal being 70.
I was thinking of joining the gym tomorrow also or do you think walking my dog will be enough. I do have a lovely track near to me that I haven’t seen for a while.
I’ll be back tomorrow. I feel like squealing a little bit cause I’m so happy I’m onboard with you all. Nighty night

Good morning team, welcome Tikipink. Walking your dog is cheaper for you and walking is still proven to be the best exercise. Your very welcome to join us, enjoy your journey. Merelda, I sympathise, I ate too much too. I had a real chocolate day yesterday, I craved it then satisfied the craving, too many times. New week, another cleansing fast day so the damage will be resolved. A lot of diet suggest a real “pigout” day, so maybe no damage was done! I don’t eat until 1.00-2.00 and usually a tuna salad or alike, and tonight will be home made mushroom soup, all very low cal. I made a jug of iced tea, black currant, pomigranit, and vanilla, it’s really nice AS iced tea I also add some mint and a lemon slice. Good luck team whatever your choices are today I know they will be healthy, your AUSSIE DETERMINATION will give you strength because YOU CAN DO IT……CG xx

    Happy Fast Monday Everyone
CG and Marelda, I am on the same boat as you two, Ate too much on Saturday nite and continued on Sunday πŸ™
Well, today is fast day, so should be ok, I guess.

Veggiemumma, welcome. I am vegetarian too and I dont get to see a lot of vegetarians around, so knowing that someone else is on the same journey is very comforting as well.

TikiPink, love love love your profile name. Sounds very cute. Welcome and ask questions if you are not sure about anything. This is a very supportive group and someone will answer your questions with all passion.
About joining the gym, I would say, if you have not been to the gym lately, then you may want to start slow. Walking the dog sounds good for start. Just an update that I have not been exercising at all (due to some issues) but still managed to loose 6.5 kgs in 6 weeks. The only change that I made is that I have started to use stairs instead of escalators. And now, that I feel a little lighter, I am starting gym from today ( fingers crossed πŸ™‚ ) I would aim at getting into 5:2 routine first and once comfortable with diet, you can start the gym too. I am no expert, but just sharing my own experience here.

Again, I am planning on 4:3 this week, Mon, Wed and Friday. Today will be a water fast followed by mushroom soup and salad for dinner (CG, I stole your idea fro mushroom soup)

Go Gal, love love love your inspirational words. You are my true support. So happy to have you around.

AndrewofCastlemaine, your sense of humor is amazing. and am happy to be your unofficial mentor, but just hope that you don’t get too annoyed with me….. LOL

Happy fasting everyone & Remember, HOPE, STRENGTH AND AUSSIE DETERMINATION will take us very long way!!!

Hi wow what an amazing few days some great losses and inspiring people.
Have been cutting out most carbs and felt hollow but ok, then had a little pig out on raisin toast and the lamb souvlaki at the local school fair yesterday and felt bloated tired and yuk. Has anyone else had a carb experience ? FD today am at work and am looking forward to it which is different.
    Happy monday AUSSIE DETERMINATORS.
