  • Day 22 AUS FD800

@gardenlily and @linda.b, I’m glad you both liked the sound of green shakshuka! It’s so delicious and filling; I always feel like I’ve had a proper weekend brunch, and stay full for ages, but it’s super healthy and low cal, too.

I’m starting the week back at my lowest weight since restarting this WOL, and just under 120lbs, woot, but still 1k to go to goal. Although when I started, I set size (measurement) goals as well as weight goals, and I’ve now met all of those, so have just set new ones

I’ve been thinking about what I need to do to actually reach my goal weight, and have decided to go back to the FD800 days, rather than the traditional 5:2 plan. The FD500 days just weren’t working for me; it seemed to be setting up a pattern where I found it hard to eat sensibly on NFD. Whereas I can do 4xFD800 in a week without feeling too deprived/tired.

My goal for this week is to move back into the 53k band; even 53.9 would do it!!

Let’s start the week filled with resolve, as @stitchincarol says.

    Day 22, FD, Aus

I had a cr@p night’s sleep, nothing since 3am. Grump, grump. Not a good way to start the working week.

Illuminating thought from the weekend: just because it’s home made, does not mean I can eat as much of it as I want!!!

Great feeling, PDPS, well done @Stichincarol!

Day 22 – Lake district UK – FD

    Good morning everyone

Monday morning start the week with a FD as usual.
@penz – Nothing worse than a bad nights sleep, especially if there’s no apparent reason, just can’t switch off.

    Take care all

    Day 22 – Monday – Gold Coast Queensland Australia – (NFD) 🌅🌞☀⭐🌟🌞🌞🌞

    I’m late, I’m late, I’m late for a very important date… with you!⏰⏱⏲🕰⏰

@northgeorgia …..gosh, we’re all feeling for you 🤗🤗🤗🤗 as you’re doing a lot of self-reflection there! When all is said and done we know the underlying simple principles of Intermittent Fasting are … 🥁🥁 … 5:2! FDs x 2 days and NFDs x 5 days. Problem is we’re all mostly good with the 2 x FDs but sometimes struggle with the NFDs. Important to keep those NFDs at TDEE and not a calorie above 😋😋😀😀. The mindsets (read inner warthogs & dragons 🐉🐉) we often have to contend with are the sacrifices albeit temporary ie limiting unhealthy food, that we make while we’re following our 5:2 plan, knowing of course that in the future we can look forward to moderate treats once our goals are met. I’m sending you a truck loaded full of RESOLVE🚚🚚🚚🚚 and know you can turn this thing around!↪↪↪↪↪ Hope your Sunday FD went well🤞🤞🤞👏👏👏

@litprof …. it seems as we are entering that last lap for August that everyone is reflecting and renewing their resolve to finish the month on a low!⬇⬇⬇⬇ You’re doing so well so I’m sure you’ll make your goal as you’re not far off it 😊😀😃😄. Just wondering, with that green shakshuka, what are your favourite herbs and spices that you’ve used? There are so many different variations in the online recipes… some Mediterranean, Middle East, African takes on it. What have you found tastes really yummmm? 😋😋😋😋

@penz…. hope your day wasn’t too demanding and the FD goes well!🤩🤩🤩 Sleep well tonight 😴😴😴😴😴😴….. tomorrow is another day 🌅🌅

@i hate lettuce – I know your Monday FD will be a good one too! It’s a nice way to start the week. Not joining you today as I’ve moved mine along to tomorrow … that’s the great thing about FDs.. we can do that as required! win/win✅/✅

@brightonbelle.. good for you for pressing reset for a Monday FD … just perfect! 😀😃😄 The you’re half done for the week already which is the best thing about Monday FD! Now you’ll have a great week ahead!😊😉😄

    Day 22 – UK – FD

Well I had a blowout weekend and have gained even more weight so now starting higher than I was this time last week, which already felt artificially high. I’ve given my head a wobble and I’m getting back in the game.

@litprof I’m so pleased I saw your post this morning. I have been thinking of doing b2b FD800s again, which worked well for me earlier this year and your post reaffirmed it was a good approach. The ‘old’ 5:2 with 2 x FD500s a week worked a treat for me 6 years ago but I have only plateaued with them after that point. I overdo it on NFDs or quite often I struggle to even get through a FD itself. The 800cal option definitely feels a lot more achievable.

That said, I love the 5:2 because you only have to really try hard twice a week! Swings and roundabouts.

@northgeorgia – You have been doing brilliantly and I always look forward to seeing your posts when I log in here. As you say, it’s a massive positive that you are where you are and you picked up the 5:2 when you did! I recently saw a post by Michael Moseley recommending a 2-3 week push on the F800 to help restart weight loss from a plateau. I wonder if it might be something that’d help you if you wanted to push on. As I mentioned earlier in the post, switching to b2b FD800s for 3 weeks in February switched me back into weight loss very quickly and was the motivation I needed. I felt so focused and all was going really well until covid caught up with me. Michael’s post is what got me thinking of doing a F800 push again.

@brightonbelle – I’m pushing reset with you!! We’ve got this!

@funshipfreddie – did I see you’ve found somewhere for you & Boo Boo? I’m really pleased for you if so.

    Have a great day all.

Weigh-in: 214 lbs. Doing a ZBC this morning and plan to do a FD tomorrow. As it will be a late day getting home, I’ll make lunch my main meal today. Thanks for all the encouragement!

    Day 22, FD, Scotland

Hey everyone, I had a good weekend. No takeaway food, which is a triumph for me. Two poached eggs on one slice toast for lunch and low cal piri piri chicken with veg for dinner. Im taking the smallest kitten to get his first jags after work so ill miss my gym class. But im planning to go a walk, as I need to stretch my legs and get some fresh air.

    Doing fine, weight holding steady.

Tons of rain, too much for the summer parched ground so lots of flooding. Very happy our house is on a slight rise – so we are ok, but the river next to DH office is overflowing into the parking lot, so he’s had to move his car a few blocks away into a parking structure.

Day 22 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

Sorry for my silence this morning; I’m dealing with computer issues related to Word–long boring story. I ate decently on Saturday and ALMOST decently on Sunday, and plan to do the same today.

@northgeorgia Great decisions about the mental changes you’re going to make. Less law from your inner voice and more grace is always a good thing.

Must go and continue dealing with my to-do list.

    Day 22 UK FD

Hello, I’m ho-ome! Bit of a blow out weekend but I’m back on the waggon with a solid FD today.

It’s been a tough week with tech issues and feeling really down after I had to cancel my long weekend away due to logistics and health, leaving me without a holiday. I haven’t helped myself by staying away from community things and friends but really didn’t feel like people. The combination of DD illness, my long covid, hot weather, train strikes, no PA support, the sense of everyone else away doing lovely things, so much struggle in the country/world, sleeping badly…

But I’m back! A bath and a good night’s sleep last night, some renewed focus for project work today, a hot marmite lunch and a OMAD FD supper of green salad with chilli dressing followed by kale & sweet potato dahl from the freezer…. next up another bath with lavender and lashings of epsom salts, painting my toenails and zzz with an audio book

Tomorrow I’ll get up earlier, start the day with 10 mins of gentle stretches and 10 mins meditation – baby steps. I have an outline plan for what I need to do in the day. My mother is coming for tea tomorrow and I need to have some mental energy and focus so we don’t clash. My out of office is on from Wednesday morning tho I’ve set it aside as a catch up day if needed, then I’m off until 1 September – alleluia! No plans now sadly but I’ll plan a couple of day trips around energy, catch up with some friends and look after myself well

@northgeorgia thank you for sharing your workings. Sometimes it’s reallly helpful to stop and think about why we might be stuck, what we can change, and make a plan. i’m with you as I’m a great one for doing my thinking on the outside, so to speak. I think it’s harder for those of us who live alone – and perhaps again if we don’t go out to work etc. I know i’ve noticed a big difference with long covid, and since my DD moved to a different part of the country after living in the same town and latterly just round the corner. It’s easy to get stuck in patterns without someone else there to help us notice. So, thank you for thinking out loud and sharing your plans, that was really helpful for me.

    Day 22 – UK Cam – FD
Hi Everyone! Just catching up on all the posts – seems like just about everyone is doing a FD today – hope it is going well for you. I had a lazy Sunday, friend came for tea (I followed Linda.b’s advice and looked left, looked right when the cake passed by) and made a scrummy baked chicken thighs with lemon and pan roasted veggies (no added fat) for Sunday supper – enough left over to pop a pot in the freezer for soup when winter arrives. Today has been a good FD (so far) – volunteer gardener all day, mostly labelling plants in the herbaceous border along with weeding & deadheading, part of a very friendly team so the day passed quickly. Stopped for lunch of tuna salad with loads of green leaves and baby tomatoes and then beef and green beans for supper, skilfully avoiding the baby new potatoes in herb butter and having cauli rice instead. DH feeling a lot better and tucked into the potatoes so I felt good at letting him have them all!
Thank you to whoever first mentioned marmite tea recently – I had never tried this but WOW it saved the day (whilst I was waiting for the beef to warm up).

@mariaelena – where do you live? I hope the rains have stopped and the flooding gone down, sounds awful.

@goal10kg – hope the kitten is recovering OK – my dog hates her annual booster jabs, tail between legs and has to be hauled over the doorstep into the vet’s!

@linda.b – thanks for all the encouragement, I am sure it does help. I knew yesterday’s trivia straight away (I did a course on Remarkable Women and Amelia was one of my RM) but am stumped by today’s question. Will need to research …

@penz – love your ‘thought for the day’ – I quite agree, home-made is not calorie free!

    Day 23, NFD, Aus

Yesterday’s WFD was easy. Why is this the case sometimes and not always?!? (Rhetorical question, don’t worry.)

I’m working from home today as all of my team is off for one reason or another and there seemed no point going into the office to be on my lonesome. Instead, I’m trying to convince my working dog that he is NOT a lapdog. He loves jumping up and putting his front paws on the desk (and keyboard) to look out the window. He sometimes helps out by typing alsjfoai j:EUFH”OW

Lots of strong commitment shining through the forum lately. We can do this!

Day 22 Ohio, US — MFD
Wow! A lot has been going on, mostly socializing, but really creating havoc with my regular schedule. The good news: the weigh-in showed no change, and that shows that the anti-inflammatory medicine had no effect on my weight. I’m off that trial run now and am feeling much better. Today the fasting went very well. Some of the socializing was fairly tiring, such as spending three hours helping a grand-niece with her maths homework.
@michelinme Hope all goes well with your mother’s visit!

Woohooo…. 10 on yesterday’s (Monday’s) pocketlist! May have been 11 as @northgeorgia might have been there too! That’s so encouraging for everyone!💪💪💪💪🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔 So good to get at least one FD done early in the week… makes the rest of week feel more achievable! 💪💪

Here’s the news bulletin…. ONLY 9 DAYS left for All Aboard for Audacious August 2022…31 days, 1 day at a time challenge! (including today). So we are on the last leg of our trip along the rickety track of Audacious August! 🚂🚂🚂
Time to reflect, make adjustments and come chugging along across the finish line at top speed on the 31st August! 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🎇🎆🎇🎆 We can do this TOGETHER! 💪💪💪💪

Lots of discussion about b2b FD800s:
@babs_b … you’ve got this… change the plan not the goal. Your new plan of b2b FD800s sounds perfect. 🌸
    @litprof … and you’ll be doing it too. 🌼
@northgeorgia…. perhaps b2b FD800s might be worth consideration too. Seems it can help with plateaus and turning around to the right direction.🌻
Anyway, I know you will all report your results with this b2b FD800s strategy and we are all crossing our fingers for the best results for you! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

@goal10kg …. you said at the beginning of the month you wanted to stop overindulging on NFDs and especially on take-aways …… you’re absolutely rocking that! You’ve stuck to your promise to yourself and the results are showing! 🔔🔔🔔

@mariaelena… Can you kindly send some of that rain over to our UK pals? Glad to see your ‘steady as she goes’, holding the course.. working a treat! 💐💐

@stitchincarol.. sounds like your weekend wasn’t too bad at all! Now dealing with computer issues…argh! Can’t live with ’em and can’t live without ’em!🤣😃🤣

@michelinme .. so glad you’re setting aside some “me” time. You’ve planned it all beautifully, now just enjoy! Rest and Recuperation is on top of your menu! 💐💐

@gardenlily… sounds like you are right on track 🚂🚂 and enjoying life while you chug along….. that’s the way it’s meant to be! Baked chicken thighs with lemon and pan roasted veggies (no added fat) … lemon🍋🍋 and chicken are a match made in heaven👼👼.. Glad your DH is on the mend and eating again.

@penz … your mojo is back! Fantastic! you’ll be chugging along to the finish line at a fast clip! with your personal assistant at your side…woof 🐕🐕🐕🐕 🚂🚂🚂🚂💐

@matpi….. you’re on a roll… your fasting day sounds like it’s all easy and going to plan..which is exactly the way it’s supposed to be…. great! 🌺

    Day 23 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD

DH and I celebrated 19 years together yesterday so we had a meal and wine, lovely treat on a Monday.

It’s an FD today….then from tomorrow we have visitors for a few days, DH’s long lost sister and family are visiting, so although I cannot take time off work, the evenings will be spent socialising with the in-laws. Just going to try for the best, but there is one restaurant meal factored in.

Lovely to hear everybody’s news, it’s great to catch up. Onwards and downward.

    Day 23 – UK – FD800

A very quick check-in from me before the day’s meetings kick off. Yesterday was ok but not a FD in the end. Ugh. Still, I ate only good things and felt better for it. Unsurprisingly, I didn’t lose any weight overnight, but I’m going again today for another FD800. I’m feeling and looking quite chunky for me at the moment. Last week I had a lot of swelling and inflammation in my body from an injury but I’ve had that treated now – the pain is slowly subsiding and I’m moving a lot better so I can’t attribute this chunkiness / puffiness to that anymore. I’ve just tipped into the 160s, which is unheard of for me. It’s only happened once before which was in January and prompted the F800 push in Feb. For reference, when I started the 5:2 originally I was in the 140s and I got down to the 130s in a couple of months. I just don’t recognise myself anymore!

    Today’s plan:

ZBC (currently have a lovely black coffee)
Lunch is a chickpea & feta salad
Dinner – not sure yet, we need to do a food shop but it’ll be something from the F800 recipe book. I’ve tasked DH with picking out some good recipes, he was great at that last time we did the F800.

    Day 23, NFD (CD), Scotland

Hey i really enjoyed the low calpiri piri chicken last night for my dinner, with mange tout mixed through. I used to eat this meal a lot when i first restarted this diet, but i think i sickened myself with it, eating it too much. Im having the same again tomorrow, but then i think ill leave it another good few weeks again so I enjoy it! I need to mix it up to keep things interesting, theres nothing worse than really not looking forward to your dinner!

Back to the gym tonight hurrah. Little Teddy got on fine at the vet but they are ALWAYS running late in the vet, its to be expected I suppose, but the wee man was stuck in his box for 30 mins waiting, meowing alot!

Avocado and poached egg on toast for lunch today, with a wee sprinkle of smoked paprika, thinking about this is what got me through last night ha!

Hope you all have a good day and see y’all tomorrow.

    Day 23 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 217 lbs. I’m not going to be too hard on myself. My birthday is tomorrow, I’ve got an evening business meeting on Thursday, another big drive for a presentation next Tuesday, a birthday celebration next Wednesday, now TWO big events — one early next Thursday and one late next Thursday night, then Labor Day weekend. I’ll just do my two days a week fasting as normal, and try to eat sensibly on my NFDs. Maybe in September I can rethink some strategies, but it’s all a bit too much right now.

    Day 23 – UK Cam – NFD
Definite air of PFDS here, thanks to all of your strong vibes I made it through the FD evening, vanquishing dragons left and right! Mind you, being exhausted helped. Today is a quiet day, pottering about picking apples, chopping apples, cooking apples, freezing – yes – apples, interspersed with dog walks, laundry and support for a friend in difficult times. Logically, next FD would be Thursday BUT I have a girl’s night out with dinner and theatre planned. Might squeeze one in tomorrow – DH has procedure at hospital early morning so that will take up the whole morning. Means I’ll be out of the house, no food about – good start to a FD! Instead of sitting in the hospital cafe with laptop and nibbles, I’ll take the dog and go for a long walk in the nearby park.

@northgeorgia – happy birthday wishes for tomorrow – make it a good one! Your life sounds really hectic but you have a plan.

@goal10kg – glad Little Teddy is OK, our vet waiting room is the same – always full of cats in boxes, birds in cages and panting dogs – we tend to wait in the car until the nurse waves from the door and even then it’s a struggle to get 25kg of reluctant brown dog over the doorstep! Avocado on toast – my favourite!

@babs_b – hope your plan for today goes well – how do you make your chickpea and feta salad – I am curious, please share!

@penz – love the image of your dog helping you with reports and spreadsheets … mine just snores in the armchair next to me.

Today’s Trivia – I had to look up the answer, who’d have guessed! In medieval times, in the Fens, this/these were used as currency – payment for rent. I guessed yesterday’s answer was either India or China due to size of population and available food resources.

Good luck to everyone on a FD today – thinking of you!

Day 23 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD

And it’s another day when I’m late to the forum, and off very quickly–so sorry. Yesterday was NOT as well behaved as I intended, but today’s a new day, so that’s my focus. I’m suddenly realizing what a frantic week this is, as I have a meeting on Saturday that’s an hour and a half away, church on Sunday morning, my students’ piano recital Sunday afternoon–and then DH and I go straight on from the recital to our first hotel on our vacation, so we have to be packed when we leave the house to drive 30 minutes to the recital. And the house has to be tidy so my cleaner can clean when she comes Wednesday, when we’re gone. WHEW. It’s one of those weeks where, if I simply get my butt in gear and DO things, it’ll be delightful; if instead I dally and stall, and spend too much time on my laptop, it’ll be stressful. Now if I can only find a way to be disinterested in food/drink, it’ll be a grand week, right?? 🤣🤣🤣

At least I did some exercise this morning, for the first time in WEEKS. It’s a start.

I hear you @babs_b I’m in a similar situation. I’m doing things I know have worked in the past but the scales just seem to be going in the wrong direction I’m hoping things will click into place if I just keep on trying ( or is that the definition for insanity !!?) anyway plodding on

    Day 23 Wales NFD

Today is our wedding anniversary so we went out for a celebratory brunch with bubbles 🥂then ate ice cream by the river in the village. Cooking dinner at home tonight as there is a private function on at the restaurant we want to try out, so we’re going there tomorrow. Needless to say I am taking a mini break from calorie counting.

@brightonbelle I think those of us who are prone to easy weight gain will just have to keep plodding on forever, better that than giving up and getting unhealthily bigger and bigger.

    Happy Tuesday all 🤗

    Day 23 UK CD

Successful FD yesterday and not yet eaten today. Still feeling puffy today but perhaps because i didn’t drink enough water yesterday.

I slept better again but not enough last night, dragged myself out of bed with a headache/sore throat/sinus pain. I’ve been head down at desk today but not made much progress as not feeling very sharp. But I’ve got a better sense of what I need to do and going to stop for the day to spend some time cooking/eating/pottering – balance is often as important as progress!

It’s veg box delivery tomorrow morning so time to cook & eat up old veg – roast beetroot & aubergine to add to meals over the next couple of days, and cauliflower, green beans and spinach with vegan kiev tonight, followed by some combination of strawberries, blueberries, mango, gooseberry and apple.

    Strength to everyone fasting today!

@daffodil2010 congratulations on your 19th anniversary
    @missybear happy anniversary

    Day 23 – 16:8

Trip prep for upcoming travel and departing this week. May not check in often, but thinking of everyone.

    Will try to eat reasonably!

    Day 24 – Wednesday – Gold Coast Queensland Australia – (NFD)🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪

ONLY 8 DAYS left for All Aboard for Audacious August 2022…31 days, 1 day at a time challenge! (including today). 8 days to success for the month!🎈🎈🎈🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂

    Hump Day!🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪
Time to review our week to see where it’s heading. Most of us have Wednesday as a NFD so the challenge today is to not lose the plot and go overboard! For me, it’s to make sure I don’t undo my last FD (yesterday for me) and still have an enjoyable day today. 😀😃😄 I go for dinner (trivia night) with my galpals on Wednesday night, so I’ll make sure during the day I don’t overindulge knowing that tonight I’ll be having a full pub meal.

    What’s your plan for today?❓❓❓🐪🐪🐪

@daffodil2010 19 years anniversary celebration! woohooo! 🎆🎇🎆🎇✨✨Congratulations! Glad you were able to celebrate together before the arrival of so many visitors. Sounds like its going to be so busy and so much fun for everyone …. how very special.🎈🎈🎈🎈 Just enjoy it. You (and DH) will be able to make amends (if needed) after they’ve gone…. that’s the best thing about Intermittent Fasting…. we live in the real world and know that we really can enjoy life and make up with our FDs/NFDs later.

@babs_b .. love a lady with a plan! 🎈🎈🎈 FD800 is definitely the way to go for you and we can’t wait to see the results! That chickpea and feta salad sounds scrumptious! 😋😋😋 Your DH is doing this with you too?? So good to have that support for each other (not to mention the assistance with the logistics of the menu!)

@goal10kg … love reading your posts… you are STICKING TO YOUR PLAN LIKE GLUE!🤣🤣😂…. more power to you gal! We all just love to see your single-minded determination 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀 That’s the way to do it to get the best and fastest results! The sooner we reach our goals, the sooner we can return to a new normal life🎈🎈🎈🎈

@northgeorgia – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!🎈🎈🎈🎈🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂 Hope it’s a good one! Enjoy your special day. With so much going on it’s a good plan, as you say, to just stick with “my two days a week fasting as normal, and try to eat sensibly on my NFDs”… that’ll see you through the next period just fine. Gosh, @northgeorgia, it seems like the yankees sure have a lot of public holidays. Something sadly lacking here in Australia🦘🦘🦘

@gardenlily… you too! Lady with a PLAN! 🎈🎈🎈 You’ve definitely got this ‘work around’ caper all worked out… It’s so good to look ahead to see what the obstacles might be and then work up a PLAN to make sure we don’t get derailed. 🚂🚂🚂🚂 Hope DHs medical procedure goes well … and enjoy the walk with 🐕 (yes, yesterday’s answer was India)

@stitchincarol …. golllyyyyyy! You are BUSY! You’ll need this vacation just to recover from all your commitments.. 🤪😵🥴 Great that you’re still committed to the WFD for Tuesday, so hope that worked well for you. As you dash about, just think of that carrot 🥕 at the end… the vacation… yay! 🎆🎇✨🎇🎆🎈🎈🎈🌞🌞🌞

@brightonbelle .. I hear you about repeating things that worked in the past but not as effective this time round. When I did 5:2 in 2019 it took exactly 11 weeks to lose 11kg …. no drama… worked like clockwork. This time (2022) I followed exactly the same food and same 5:2 regime with the addition of No Alcohol (which I didn’t do in 2019) but took 19 weeks to lose 11 kg! Go figure!!! Are our bodies conspiring against us?? Anyway, the only way is FORWARD, and to keep at plodding along, as you say, and the WHOOSH off the plateau will surely come, PROMISE!🎈🎈🎈🎈

    @missybear … another anniversary celebration! woohooo! 🎆🎇🎆🎇✨Congratulations!
Bubbles and icecream sounds just perfect to celebrate! 🥂🥂🥂🍨🍨🍨 You are so encouraging for everyone when you say, “keep plodding on forever, better that than giving up and getting unhealthily bigger and bigger.” and you show a great example of how to do IF in real life, making allowances for special days. The only way is FORWARD! Enjoy your dinner out tonight💐💐💐

@michelinme … so sorry you’re not feeling 100%… that long covid has a lot to answer for! You seem to be describing ‘brain fog’ as they call it here in Oz🥱😕😲. On another note, just curious but can you share about the “vegan kiev”? Sounds interesting, is it something you make up yourself? Despite all, you sound so full of RESOLVE! 💐💐

@mariaelena –You are the QUEEN OF WOL MAINTENANCE👸👸… looking forward to hearing about your trip on your return 🌸🌻🌼

    ⭐Yesterday’s Trivia – Tuesday – Day 23

If you asked for ‘unagi’ in a Japanese restaurant, what would you get? Hmmmm❓❓

Eel ….unagi, freshwater eel is a very common type of fish used in sushi rolls. However, they aren’t just any old fish. In fact, eels are so special and difficult to cook properly that eel chefs are a completely separated profession from sushi chefs.

    ⭐Today’s Trivia – Wednesday- Day 24

What animal from South America has the nickname ‘chicken of the trees’? ❓❓❓

Day 23 Ohio, US — NFD
Today was a low energy day, since I had a lot of digestive bru-ha-ha going on. The good news is that I’ve stayed within my TDEE. The bad news was that the newest Windows update locked me out of my computer and it only took two frantic hours to get back into it! I very much felt as though I was in a Dilbert cartoon.

    @mariaelena Have a great trip!

    @brightonbelle Happy Anniversary!

@stitchincarol You’re definitely in whirlwind mode! Hope you get a chance to rest and recover on your vacation.

@northgeorgia Have a very happy birthday!

    Day 24, FD (ish) Aus

Gosh it’s nearly the end of the working day and I’m squeezing in this post. My normal routine is so thrown out! I carpool with DH and he has been desperate to leave the office for the last three hours so I picked him, came home, and now back on the work computer. The sun is out, and he’s taken the (terribly excited) dogs for a walk. I’m envious but at least there will be no paws on the keyboard…

ok, back to work otherwise I’ll never be able to clock off for the day.

    Day 24 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

I’m back 😳 Very indulgent last few days. You name – I ate it. And drank it. So I need to make this last week of Audacious August count. Three more FDs, at least. Just as well I still don’t have my bathroom scales; but I can’t hide my head in the sand forever.

@babs_b – yes, we found another place with a garden from tomorrow. I’m going to pick Boo Boo up from the cattery on Friday, once I’ve retrieved all her paraphernalia from the storage place.

    @northgeorgia – Happy Birthday! 🥳️ 🎉 🎈🍨🎂

    @daffodil2010 – Happy Anniversary! 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 💖

    @missybear – Happy Anniversary! 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 💖

Here we go again! Same meals for me as Monday. And Grit strength class after work. I have family over from Saturday so im considering some CDs on Thursday and Friday, I want to feel good! CD for me = no take away food and no booze. If i have no booze, no takeaway and hit the gym, I will feel great!

And im unsure about what ill do next week, as im off work Monday and Tuesday. Can i fast on a holiday? Im not sure. The answer is of course, yes I can. But will i? Im not sure. I could just switch up my days to Wednesday, Friday.

    Day 24 UK NFD

Nice lunch date with a friend at a new restaurant, aiming to make wise choices

See you on the list tomorrow- no idea @linda.b about chicken of the trees ? Educational and entertaining 👏

    Day 24 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 211 lbs. Thank you all for the birthday wishes, and what a treat to see my lowest weigh-in of the month today (tho’ not the lowest of all time, I’ll take it)! Last weigh-in at 211 was a little over a month ago. Still will have to try hard to get on the right path, as this is my “highest” low weight of each month since January. But, we’re on our way.

Today’s a special treat day, but for the upcoming NFDs, they won’t be “feasts.” I’ll change my mindset to eat sensibly.

    @daffodil2010 – Happy Anniversary!
    @missybear – Happy Anniversary!
    @mariaelena Have a great trip!
@linda.b Thanks for your ongoing encouragement!
@stitchincarol We both have busy times right now! We’ll find our way in the coming weeks ahead!

Still trying to catch up this month. It’s been the first day in a while I haven’t had to run out of the door in the morning — I’m going to enjoy this day off!

    Take care!

Day 24 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

Yesterday went fine. I was suddenly VERY hungry around 8pm, but a sparkling water calmed the pangs. Does anyone else find sparkling water calms hunger far more than still water does? And, as usual, I’m not the least bit hungry this morning…empty, certainly, and that feels glorious, but not hungry.

But as to losing weight? Nope, don’t think it’s happening. That’s a clear result of too much excess on the weekend, so I need to find a way to curb that. @northgeorgia when you find a way to tame the NFDs, you’ll need to be the cheerleader for all the rest of us!

But since we leave for our mini vacation on Sunday (it’ll be a week, but we’ll never be further than three hours from home, and it’ll be very relaxed and unstructured, so it feels “mini”), I’m not going to worry about it then.

@missybear Happy Anniversary!! Enjoy your dinner out tonight. And I’m with you about plodding on forever–I’m clearly quite skilled at maintaining, except for the occasional month when I eat like a crazed woman and put on ten pounds! (That was June for me.)

@gardenlily and @linda.b (I’m reading posts from the last few days) I’ve quit Wordle as it’s just not hugely fun for me, but Nerdle? I do two a day, one with the plain nerdle and one bi-nerdle, which is two games at once. It’s a math equation puzzle and I adore it. Actually, @matpi, have you tried it? You’re our bona fide math person on this forum!

@northgeorgia HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! May you have a grand day, full of gardening (if that gives you the peace it gives me) and house cleaning (if that should happen to trip your trigger) and all the things that give you joy and keep you feeling like YOU.

@litprof Below 120, eh? Last time I weighed that little was on my honeymoon, and never since then. Of course, that was also a BMI of 19.8, so it’s probably a good thing I gained a bit. CONGRATULATIONS to you for getting down and for having your measurements be where you set your goal!

@penz I laughed at your dog’s contribution to your post yesterday. 😂😂🥰

@daffodil2010 Happy Anniversary!!! Say, our Nebraska Huskers are in Dublin to play American football against Northwestern; is it on the news for you? Ireland in general and Dublin in particular are everywhere on our local news! I smile and think of you every time I see someone reporting from there.

Okay, I’ve done a very sloppy job of chatting, because I’ve said nothing to many of you, but please know I treasure all your chatter, and read it, and celebrate the community of support and wisdom we’ve built here.

For my meeting on Saturday, I have to come up with a total of ten themes with supporting Bible verses so the board can vote to choose five for our quarterly publication, to take us through 2023. Never having done this before, it feels quite daunting. When I got home from piano lessons last night, I dug right in, and I have two to go, plus a bit of editing before it feels presentation-ready. When that’s finished and feels good to me, this week won’t feel so very overwhelming.

As to what I’m going to eat today, I have no plan. Well, a tiny plan: we have a couple lovely tomatoes, so I’m making bruschetta. But if that’s for lunch or for supper, and what else we’ll have is still up in the air. I must think it through and come up with a solid plan; last Wednesday, I managed to eat little enough that I was down two-tenths of a pound on Thursday morning, and I’d like to accomplish the same thing today.

Okay, it’s been an hour since I typed all that, and I still don’t know what I’m eating today, so I’ll post this and pray for restraint! 🤣🤣🤣😜

This I know for certain: I am far too smart to be the only thing standing in my way.

    Day 24 UK NFD

I don’t think I posted today? Getting v confused as I remember reading the posts but forgot to write anything – which may be what happened before! That, or forgot to hit enter and closed the tab…

Another very tired and aching day. This morning was household chores, unpacking food deliveries and early lunch, this afternoon/evening was slowly plodding through project stuff, mostly key comms ahead of upcoming annual conference. I seem to have got through nearly all the urgent stuff. Three things left to do before I can switch off and think about holiday, which will all hopefully fit into a couple of hours tomorrow morning – phew!

Foodwise, yesterday was a solid CD with healthy choices all round, epsom salt bath and good sleep tho not enough of it. Today i’ve had my big food delivery which makes it easier to find quick and healthier food to fit around long days. For lunch I had lentil cakes (like rice cakes but with lentil & pea flours) with tomato, roast beetroot and lettuce, followed by the most HEAVENLY vegan choc ice – a new offering from Plant Pioneers (Sainsburys own brand) made with oat milk and raw cacao, a very dark chocolate-covered chocolate ice cream on a stick. No sugar spike, 260 calories – yum! Late afternoon snack of gooseberry/apple/mango compote with vegan custard, and supper of vegan *fish*, steamed cauliflower and roast aubergine.

@northgeorgia happy birthday! Hope you’ve had a lovely day off

    Day 24 – UK Cam – FD
Decided to go ahead with a FD today as running about all morning – taking DH to hospital, walking dog and then filling in time around town until he was ready, 4 hours later! Thank goodness for aircon in the larger stores as outside it was 29C and so humid. Storms forecast for tonight. DH is on the mend – endoscopy found a few things (all treatable) so now he has new drug regime but he cleared his plate at supper – a first for this month! I have been good, water only til lunch – spinach dahl – then baked fish and greens with soy sauce for supper. Just nibbled an apple – well someone told me they are 75% water …. Off to bed now, utterly exhausted with worry (unfounded) and the relentless sticky weather. Might have a cold shower first, just to cool down.
Todays Trivia – not a clue, but can imagine cartoon images – wonder if it is furry, or feathered????

    Day 25, NFD, Aus

Thanks to being busy yesterday, it was a proper FD. My tummy was protesting very loudly so I made myself a small salad: 2 cherry tomatoes, 3 mushrooms, an inch of zucchini and some lettuce leaves. It didn’t shut my gurgles up but I felt sated.

I have no idea what the trivia answer is, but it did put me in mind to ask whether the world knows what a “bin chook” is? (It’s Aussie slang for an animal commonly seen in cities – which is not their natural habitat.)

    Happy belated birthday @northgeorgia!

Day 24 Ohio, US — NFD

A good NFD, staying within my TDEE. I finally found out about my course this semester. Finally having something definite has given me a big boost of energy.

@stitchincarol I find that sipping hot water helps a great deal more than ordinary water on FD’s. I guess my stomach interprets it as very thin bouillon! Haven’t tried Nerdle. In general, I don’t do much with recreational number games — it’s too much like my ordinary work!

Day 25 – Thursday – Gold Coast Queensland Australia – my FUN DAY (FD) 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️

ONLY 7 DAYS left for All Aboard for Audacious August 2022…31 days, 1 day at a time challenge! (including today). 7 days to success for the month!🎈🎈🎈🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂

Wow…. how fast the month has flown 🦅🕊🦅🕊.. hope we’re all soaring high on success!

@brightonbelle… I’m sure you had fun with your friend for lunch at the new restaurant. We’d love to hear about it so we can relish the experience with you.😋😋😋

Hi @matpi… sorry missed your post yesterday.. we had cross-posted. Thanks for the heads-up about the new Windows update…. I’ll do my update on the weekend just in case it goes all topsy turvy…. really hate it when you do an update and then everything goes awry. So good you are staying within your TDEE! 🎈🎈🎇🎆

    @penz…. -6c in Canberra …..brrrrrrr … that’s seriously chilly! 🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊 Congratulations eating salad when it’s so cold! ❄❄❄ Glad your FD was a success!✅🔔💐💐

@funshipfreddie … glad you had a fun time on your little jaunt…. and now for the move into the new, albeit temporary, home. So guess you have a quite a bit of unpacking to do today and preparing the new palace🏰🏰 for the Queen to arrive on Friday! 🐈👸🐈 I hope she approves!

@goal10kg … hope your FD went according to plan… of course, it did! Just love your ATTITUDE ie “If i have no booze, no takeaway and hit the gym, I will feel great!” … says it all! You aren’t going to let a visit from family disrupt your plan! Go girl! And if it should, then you’ll just switch it up next week… done! 🔔🔔🔔💐💐

@northgeorgia …. hope you had just the best, BEST BIRTHDAY!🎂🎂🎂 and combined with that added ooomph of 211 lbs…. hooray! Fabulous, FABULOUS result! You’re getting a medal today! 🥇🏆 🎆🎇✨🎇🎆🎈🎈🎈🎈

@stitchincarol… always so busy but always a little time for us! You are a treasure! Your mini trip sounds just wonderful and you’ll need it after the last minute meetings and prep. Not sure if you’ll have time today and tomorrow to contribute so getting in early wishing you a lovely break away to relax and explore. 🛣🏞🏝🏞🏖

@michelinme … You’re another very busy person and so glad you find time to make some wonderful contributions too. Your food deliveries sound so very appetizing and your food choices and treats sound delicious😋😋 ….must be like opening up a gift box to see what is inside🎁🎁 Enjoying this lovely ‘me time’ is so therapeutic too… relax, enjoy!

@gardenlily – great news that DH is on the mend… phew! Yes… who knew that apples are 75% water and 100% not chocolate? We should tattoo this on our foreheads 🤣🤣😂… hard to believe it is still so hot in UK…. this must be more than a month of very high temps 🔥🔥🔥… hope it cools down soon… It’s so bizarre when you see @penz in Canberra (southern Oz) with -6c 🧊❄ and then the UK and US so totally at the other end of the spectrum. Weird!

    So here it is:

What animal from South America has the nickname ‘chicken of the trees’❓❓❓

The IGUANA 🦎🦎🦎 ……….. IGUANA meat is high protein and low fat. It’s well-suited for tacos, burritos, curries, soups, stews, gumbo and more. When it’s cooked, it’s almost a white meat, like you might see with chicken …. NOT FOR ME, URGHHH !!!

Major PFDS today. But I’m not looking forward to getting on the scales, if I ever find them.

@linda.b – I realize my speed-reading attempt yesterday failed miserably. I was trying to guess what unagi meant, but the question was from the previous day, & the answer was already there, duh?! 1980 Olympic Games; wild guess – UK? 🤔 But I cheated with the Bin Chook – @penz – it looks a bit like our very noisy Hadeda.

Lots of running around to do today, so I’d better get moving 🏃‍♂️

    Day 25 – USA/GA – LOL [?Let’s wait and see?]

Weigh-in: 217 lbs. Yeah, 6 lbs in a day. I indulged on my birthday with lots of carbs, so I’m sure most of it is water gain. I’m not hungry this morning and have a pretty busy day ahead, so I’m thinking this may turn into a FD.

Thanks for the birthday wishes; I had a nice time with my parents yesterday 🙂

    Day 25 – UK – NFD

Phew! There is finally rain! I am so pleased to see it for only the 2nd time since June.

This summer has been riddled with insomnia…! This week alone, I have had two really shocking nights of sleep (which have not been conducive for FDs). I live near a railway line and there has been 24/7 engineering for the past couple of weeks on it. So we’ve either been sleeping with windows closed to save us from the awful level of noise through the night (I am talking some of the loudest and heaviest machinery possible here) but been awake throughout the night because of the general temperature, or we’ve had the window open but been woken with the noise. The engineers and their machinery are approx 10ft from my bedroom window.

Thankfully, they didn’t seem to be outside last night and we were able to have the window open so I got a good 6 hours of unbroken sleep, which is nothing short of miraculous compared to what I’ve been getting. So today i feel like a new woman.

Plan for today is a NFD but controlled.

    ZBC
Lunch: chicken and avo salad with fruit as a snack
Dinner: A f800 recipe (yet to be decided)

DH did the shopping yesterday and took the F800 recipe book with him to plan out our meals, which was a huge help! He’s not necessarily fasting with me (yet) but he did in Feb and lost over a stone in 3 weeks.

@gardenlily I’ll gladly share my chickpea and feta salad recipe! I just throw it together, it’s not the most sophisticated of dishes but nice & easy:

    For one serving, I use:
1/2 tin of chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
    1 tomato
    chopped cucumber
    30 – 50g feta crumbled (weight depends on whether it’s a FD)
    chopped fresh basil
    1 spring onion
and any other veg I need to use up!

For the dressing I simply mix:
2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil
1tsp of raw apple cider vinegar

I tend to make that dressing most days for my salads. Sometimes I add a tsp of wholegrain mustard depending on what is in the salad itself.

@northgeorgia – a belated happy birthday to you! I’m pleased you had a lovely day

    Have a great day all!

Day 25 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD

It’s a shame, really, that I can’t simply water fast every single day until I’m down to goal weight; that seems to be the easiest thing I do, sigh. Does that tell you how awful yesterday was? Note to self: you MUST put an eating plan in place in the morning. You simply MUST.

    Okay, ’nuff said.

@michelinme Hey, do you know the trick of hitting CTRL + SHIFT + T to reopen closed tabs? My laptop has a jumpy mousepad, despite all fussing with settings to resolve it, and I often have tabs “spontaneously” close, and can simply hit those keys, and it’s restored, along with whatever I’ve typed.

    and

@linda.b You often have a second post to correct or add information, but if that additional information is within five minutes, you can just hit the EDIT button on your first post–did you know that, and just not want that option?

@gardenlily So glad your DH is on the right meds to put him on the mend!

@penz Nope, never heard of “bin chook”!! But when we lived in St. Louis, we saw a fox in our back yard!!

@matpi I too sip hot water on FDs, but in the winter, not on a hot summer day… 😜

@babs_b Oh, living that close to a track, and out your bedroom window, no less, is a huge challenge to good sleep! At least when it cools off, you’ll be comfortable with the window closed!

Someone I don’t even know died, and our usual substitute organist isn’t available, so I have to skip my Saturday meeting in order to play for the funeral…WHEW! The funeral will take less time–by far–than the meeting would have, and I’ll save three hours driving, so although I would actually have enjoyed the meeting, I’m so very grateful; the next few days are much more doable now. Only challenge is to finish my list of themes and verses, and I’m down to one left to go, which I’ll tackle tomorrow.

    Day 25 UK CD

Had a lovely lunch yesterday , we went to Ivy Asia which I’m sure the U.K. contingent will be familiar with I have to admit it’s a bit style over substance, but there’s no denying it was a beautiful backdrop Unfortunately as the weather was so lovely we decided to drag our DHs to the pub so a bit thick headed this morning and not able to face a full on FD so going for a compromise CD

I remember watching the 1980 olympics @linda.b – we 🇬🇧did pretty well due to the large number of countries that boycotted- can’t believe it’s over 40 years ago !!!

    Day 26, NFD, Aus

I hear you on how good you can feel after a solid 6+hours sleep, @babs_b! If only they could bottle it…

Wow, I never knew that CTRL + SHIFT + T trick, @stitchincarol, it works!

The bin chook is slang for the Australian white ibis. They’re nicknamed ‘bin’ because of their habit of raiding garbage bins, and ‘chook’ coz they’re white (and chook is slang for chicken). They’re native to wetlands but have moved into suburbia due to diminishing habitat.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Day 25 Ohio, US — MFD

The fasting has gone well. It’s been really hectic getting my materials transferred for the new course. But it looks to be a nice group of people in the class, and the prof has a good sense of humor.

@stitchincarol Neat shortcut with the tabs! Here’s another one I learned recently (I hope it’s not old hat for everyone!): CTRL + V + SHIFT . This pastes without any formatting, so you can paste from a web page into a word document and have it match the doc’s ordinary formatting.

Day 26 – Friday – Gold Coast Queensland Australia – (NFD)

@penz… the bin chooks (ibis)🐓🐓🐓 were in plague proportions on the Gold Coast too! They were so ingenious at raiding rubbish bins and tossing it about and multiplied disproportionately to the other wildlife. The Council came up with a cunning and controversial plan in the late 80’s to manage them….. the pill! They fed them contraceptives for years to bring the population down. As you can imagine this program brought about great local ‘debate’….. but other measures have been about disrupting their artificial food sources too ie inventing bird-proof rubbish bins etc. Fortunately they are not as loud as @funshipfreddie‘s hadada ibis but just as pesty! We have a few here on the Lake but they’re in their natural habitat so not a problem here but 4 km away at the beach they are a real pest!

@i hate lettuce… Master Brewologist Extraordinaire! Saw this: BEER, THE REASON WHY REFRIGERATION WAS INVENTED🍺🍻🍺😀😁 Hope this batch is good gatter! 🧨🧨🧨

@funshipfreddie … hope the palace 🏰is set up and the Queen’s🐈👸 throne has its cushions plumped and ready for (HRC) Her Royal Catness. Hope it wasn’t raining 🌧☂ for move, nothing worse than moving in the rain! Wishing it is sunny for you 🌞☀🌞
Can’t wait to hear all about the arrival of the HRC to her new (albeit temporary) abode.

Ouch @northgeorgia! 6 lbs rollercoaster in a day! So not fair.. Well you have the counterbalance plan in a follow-up FD….. hope that went well and wiped those 6lbs off the planet! Let us know how well the FD worked🥰🥰🥰

@babs_b .. that noise from the railway line sounds horrific! I hope they give you some free travel vouchers for putting up with it! Do they give you warning with a letter-box drop? Awful! 😴😴🥱🥱🥱😫😫😴🥱 I’m going to make your chickpea salad over the weekend. Chickpeas have never been high my faves but you made is sound delicious and of course GF too.😋😋😊

@stitchincarol.. so funny, we so often think alike as that was going to be my Thought for the Day today….. it’s really such a good one and says it all…. the pain of regret weighs heavily! 😣I’ll find another one for today.😊 That’s a handy hint about the EDIT after SUBMIT… ta! 😊 Bet you are so looking forward to a few days off and hope the weather is on your side.🌞

@brightonbelle .. ha ha🤣😂🤣 turning on a doozie (Aussie slang!) at the pub after your night out to Ivy Asia. I’d never heard of Ivy Asia and just had to google it… wowee! They look so opulent and so-over-the-top colourful! Bet you had the best night… life is for living! 🤩🤩🤩

    ⭐Yesterday’s Trivia – Thursday – Day 25

Where were the 1980 Olympic Games held❓❓❓
Moscow, Russia ……… They were also the only Summer Olympic Games to be held in a communist country until the 2008 Summer Olympics held in China. hmmmm.. well who knew that? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

    ⭐Today’s Trivia – Friday– Day 26

80s kids will remember the VHS – but what does it stand for❓❓❓

    cheerie dearies

Thought for the Day – Friday– Day 26 🤔😀😊 (courtesy @stitchincarol)

You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way

Pocket list – Day 26 – Friday 🍅🍆🌽🌶🍄🥑🥒🥬🥦🍄🥦🥕🥦 (just Friday, Saturday and Sunday left for this week so jump in now if you need it!)

    Day 26 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

Finally – I’ve got some space! Still getting organised, but I managed to retrieve all the cat stuff, so I’m ready to collect her royal highness this afternoon. I’m sure she’ll be delighted with the garden after a month in the cattery. I also found the bathroom scales; now I just need to find a battery. No rush 😱

@linda.b – the move went fine; no rain, but very windy. The weather’s been a bit crazy here. Wednesday it went up to 33°C. Then yesterday it barely reached 20°. It’s no wonder everyone’s getting colds.

Still, the weather should be ideal for Sunday’s Comrades marathon – 90 kms – from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. It’s been going since 1921, with the exception of ’41 -’45 during WWII & obviously for the last two years due to Covid. I think I’ll give it a miss this year 😜 They alternate the direction each year, & so this year it’s a ‘down run’ to Durban.

Re trivia – I guessed the first word, & now I know what the ‘HS’ means 😅

    Happy Fri-yay y’all! 🍷

    Day 26 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 213 lbs. Yesterday turned into a nice little FD, which was sorely needed! Looks like the week has a slight trend upwards over last (probably thanks to birthday celebrations), but nothing significant.

Day 26 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

Yesterday went fine, and today’s a new challenge. My plan–I actually have one today, LOL–is to have a salmon filet and a salad (it’s a kit, so it’s a specific size when I split it with DH) for supper, invite the neighbors over for drinks in the back yard before supper, and I don’t yet know what’s for lunch…perhaps nothing if I can talk myself into a longer fast.

I’m hoping to get the back yard mowed and get the messy, messy sidewalk swept up today (we have two huge trees that make a constant mess all year round, so sidewalk cleaning is a constant chore), but it’s raining right now, so timing will be a challenge since I’d rather work in the cool of the morning. But it’s only supposed to get up to 85/30, so even the full heat of the day won’t be bad, especially since most of the work I’ll do will be in shade.

@brightonbelle I googled Ivy Asia and it looks lovely!

@penz Fun details on bin chook!

@matpi Oooo, didn’t know about adding SHIFT to prevent any change of formatting; I’ll have reason to try that soon, I’m sure. But now, spill: what course are you talking about???????

@linda.b Oh, this made me laugh: “Saw this: BEER, THE REASON WHY REFRIGERATION WAS INVENTED🍺🍻🍺😀😁”

@funshipfreddie I’m sure it’s a huge relief to be in your garden cottage finally; enjoy having Booboo home with you again!

My to-do list is stressing me out, so I need to write it down instead of keeping it mental; it’s truly not as bad as I’m making it out to be, so having it in print–or at least on my phone screen–is soul-soothing. And I have two more days of things to accomplish, a busy day on Sunday and then! THEN! Sunday around 4:30 will be when the relaxing starts and I’m so delighted. Our hotel for two of the nights is a boat on the Missouri River; doesn’t that sound fun??

Okay, off to tackle that to do list!
