I have started on the fastimg diet this week and I am on second fasting day today. I have a challenge though. I work as a truck driver and I work a shift pattern which is a mixture of day and night shifts.The pattern I work is 3 day shifts, 3 night shifts and 3 days off. My shifts are about 12 hours in length if you include the commute to and from work base. (It really isnt as bad as it sounds). The nature of the job is fairly active as it includes lots of climbing in and out of the truck.
I would like to try and avoid fasting on my night shifts – certainly in the early days as the hunger pangs could cause a distraction (Not good when driving a 46 tonne truck!). So I have decided to try a 6 and 3 fasting diet which should allow me to avoid fasting on a night shift. I have completed my first fasting day on Monday this week while working a day shift and it went really well. I managed to keep down to just under the 600 Cals. Today (Friday) is my second fasting day and it is also my first day off. It seems to be going well again.
I have a question though. Is there anyone else out there working a shift pattern like mine and, if so, is there any advice they can give on chosing days ofr fasting?
