  • I hope it’s ok to start a new topic.
I know there are already people talking about all these separate things but I’ve just had my first FD yesterday and it would be so brilliant to link up with anybody who is similar to me and just beginning.
I have always been plump but until the Menopause quite happy with my body. However, in the last year I have put on nearly two stone and now weigh 13.3 (I think that’s 84 kilos).
I love food and cooking and there always seems to have a special meal or celebration that I don’t want to miss out on. I’m hoping that the 5:2 will allow me to gently decrease and yet still have fun with food! I’m so tired of feeling guilty and failing.
Right! Enough about me, what about you? xxx

@booklady – welcome to the forum. You are in the right place for sure. It’s a very good idea to keep a journal of your ups and downs (hopefully very few of those) and track your progress.
I keep a journal here myself and find it a good way to unload any negative thoughts I might have and my struggles, but mostly my positive thoughts and success.
This journey that we are on, is an individual one but we can share the road with anyone who wants to walk with us for a while.
You’ll find encouragement and a vast group of cheerleaders here!
It’s about progress and not perfection, so be gentle with yourself and eat cake! But only on the non fast days 🙂

    Hello VibeRadient,
Thank you for your lovely reply, it’s great to hear from somebody who is on the same journey.
I will have a good look at your journal and other forum posts too, I’m sure I will be inspired!

Cheers and good luck to you!
I find that the 5:2 diet is like a buffet. Take what you want and leave the rest.

And if you find one day is a struggle, remember that the next day you can eat what you want.
