  • I have been reading through some of the forum posts today and have seen it mentioned that on NF days we should try to eat our TDEE. Is this right? Mine is over 1500 and I am thinking that seems high for my calorie intake on non-fasting days. I am so glad to have found this diet and this site!

Hi, your TDEE is the maximum amount you should eat on a non fast day. 5:2 is the same as any other method of weight loss in that you need to eat less calories than your body needs in order to lose weight. If you want to eat less, that is fine.

    Good luck

My TDEE was around 2000! I knew that was high. I eat around 1000 a day on non fast days, sometimes a little more, or a little less. You at least need to subtract out enough to equal how much you want to lose per week.
