  • feeling positive starting diet tomorrow,never done it b4, ive got a big appitite..what kind of thing do you all eat on fasting days ..carol

    Hi Carol! a positive attitude and approach helps a lot. I have a big appetite also but I find drinking a lot of water, black coffee and flavoured herbal teas helps, as well as chewing sugar free gum.
    You can eat whatever you like on fast days as long it’s 500 calories for women and 600 for men (approximation for me). Eat protein and fat and fill up on leafy greens and veggies.

    Lots of pickles here!

    I also find sugar free jello and 45 calorie hot cocoa helps as treats and desserts.

    thanks ,went well wednesday,had a normal day thursday but watched what i ate, friday evening now and had a fast day again today,finding it really good..feelinging really motivated ..

    Carol – sounds great! Are you doing 3 fasts a week then?

    it seems to be working out like that,if ive no plans in the week then i,m finding it easy to do every other day..enjoyed it to be honest doesnt feel like a diet,am liking that am in control and mastering 1 day at a time..got 3 stone to lose .

    I don’t find this is a diet either. It’s great isn’t it?

    will have been doing diet 2 weeks on weds ,dared to go scales this morning and was pleased to see ive lost 6lbs…

    having a fast day today and think ive just had the healthist meal in my life broccoli,spinash with soup poured over it 389 calories…#goodday

    Awesome! Bet that is the first but certainly not the last healthy meal!

    Sounds good Carol, but don’t forget to eat protein and fat on your fast days, you don’t want to lose muscle.

    This is my first fasting day… Reading these forums when I am feeling hungry really helps!! I recently lost 26 pounds over a span of a year. I felt like the slow weight loss was super healthy; and, it stayed off easily. I did this with exercise and better food choices; however, that being said. I have recently made a big move in my life and my regime has gone topsy turvy… Going out on the weekends, eating more, and increasing my alcohol consumption has really affected my blood sugar. I have been fighting carb craving and not winning that battle very well which has resulted in a steady weight gain over the last 3 months of about 10 pounds. Which is really disappointing after having worked so hard to get down to my goal weight. So far on this first fast day I feel pretty good, just doing some calisthenics and stretching so I don’t feel too depleted. I decided to try this fasting type diet because I really think when you go into ketosis it not only eliminates the sugar craving but metabolizes your stored fat as well. Well, that is my hope anyway. So far I am not craving sugar but the banana sitting in front of me is starting to look really good:-) Looking forward to my healthy 500 calories worth of food in a few hours!!

    well done milagirl,j thought my 1st day would be hard too but went ok… my meal like that viberadiant was only a 1 off usually have a weight watchers ready meal and plenty of veg…that was just a lazy tea ..ha ha ,made up for it today,had some guilt free ice cream yummy…
