  • Hi all, my name is Iain and I am attempting to lose two stones in 6 months as I am getting married in September and don’t want my beautiful bride to look like she’s marrying a beached whale 🙂
I think I may struggle as I am a typical man who loves his food. I am also struggling to exercise as I have fibromyalgia but I am going to try to exercise at my own pace.

Well that’s my goal…… we’ll see how it goes. Thanks all,,, Iain.

    Hi lain and welcome:

Don’t worry about not exercising – you do not need to exercise to lose weight.

Here are some tips – hope they help: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

    Good Luck!

    Hi Ian

a lot of newbies on the forums, and loads of information and support.

Be kind to yourself and give it time to work, you have given yourself a doable target and timescale and the BEST incentive.

My OH other half has joined me, which is great support for me. He wants to lose a stone and has dropped three kilos in as many weeks, and is still eating bacon butties, except in whoemeal instead of white bread. Check out your TDEE, a calculator is on the site, this gives you an idea about how many calories you need to stay the same weight, and two days a week you have a quarter of that. Men usually have a higher calorie allowance, so that on fast days you drop quite a lot, which may give you a more rapid weight loss. 1 lb a week average is likely, but you can tweak loads of things if you are a little off target.

Count calories or don’t, up to you on non fast days, see what works, probably go easy on the booze. And share your journey.

Best of luck and travel hopefully
