  • Have just moved and now have 3/4’s of the unpacking done, After a very stressful time, I have a good chance to get on with the 5:2. Started yesterday Monday 16th Feb and will fast again on Thursday. I know I will need some encouragement and will try to find time to navigate my way around. Have a look at my profile if you wish. I am 2 stone overweight for 5ft 2 and need to loose a stone before the end of April as I am having an operation. Would be absolutely fantastic if this works and becomes a way of life as I intend it to be. I would like to loose another stone before July and try to keep the weight off for the rest of my life.

If there is anyone else in the age bracket of 50/early 50’s that are up and running do let me know. I’ve done the dog walk up hill and down for 40 mins this morning… it’s a start. Any easy peasy reciepies for the 5:2 Days would be so helpful. Many thanks. I’ll check in within a couple of days. 🙂

Hi I am 57 and weigh almost 12 stone. My daughter is getting married end of June and I need to lose as much weight as possible before then. I have lost half a stone counting calories and want to build on that with the 5 2 diet. I may not be experienced in 5 2 but am sure together we can muddle through. Have you thought about home made soup for the 2 days it’s filling, easy to make and Can be good calorie wise?

Hi, Great to hear from you audreyg. I am 51 on Friday and have worked out that I am roughly the same weight as you.

I have just started my 2nd week this morning (Monday and Thursday being my 2:5 days). I managed to my amazement to have lost 1.5 Kilos ( about 2 1/2 lbs ? last week )… so really thrilled. I am sure we can shift this weight, you for your daughter’s wedding and me before my Op at the end of April.

Thanks so much for the tip on home-made soup, I will avoid using butter and cream!

I have found it very difficult not to have something at lunchtime so have had an apple and a large glass of water around 1pm. We had liver and garlic and onions with lots of cabbage this evening – sounds rather uninteresting but was delicious. One thing I am finding difficult is cutting out salt!

I wish you lots of luck this week.

    🙂
