  • Hi all,I am just starting today. It is midday here in NZ and I am feeling ok – slight headache. I’m a little anxious about when I have to go home from work and cook for the family, but am going to use lots of positive affirmations to get through. I really want to do this for my health. Great to read all the posts – its very encouraging.

    Hello!

    Good luck from England!

I fasted about a year ago and gave up after reaching my target. I now have a new target and have started again today also, so I sort of know what to expect.

Don’t be anxious! I know this is really obvious but green veg is a life saver. Made myself a ratatouille today with half a tin of tomatoes, 80g asparagus, 100g broccoli, 100g spinach and 4 sliced mushrooms. Salt , pepper, Italian herbs, garlic and a little cayenne pepper to make it a bit different. It makes quite a lot for one, and fills the plate at only about 140 calories – perhaps this can be adapted for the family and you won’t be jealous of them eating any more because you’ll have plenty!

Good luck again, will be interested to see how you go on.

    Enjoy!

I did my first fast today. It wasn’t too bad. I already avoid anything with flour because it causes my skin to break out in hives and don’t eat much sugar so maybe that’s why it wasn’t so bad. I ate last night at 7pm and fasted until tonight at 5pm. I decided one big meal of 500 calories would work better than eating breakfast and then dinner. I was afraid if I ate breakfast, it would make me even hungrier throughout the day. For dinner I had steak, mushrooms, red peppers and zucchini. Not quite 500 calories, but all I could eat. I also drank herbal tea and black coffee all day. I’m excited to keep it going and to see results.

Tea (and liquid in general) is definitely a life saver!

00:02 here and nights are the hardest for me, so I filled up a 600ml bottle with ice, a couple of slices of lemon and water and that’s really helped tonight.
