Some days are just not optimum

  • Today is the first full week of 5:2-ing for me. I am not a stranger to fasting, I’ve done single days many times before. However, it is true that some days are just not optimum.

    I’m sticking to it regardless today though, even if I’m feeling unusually hungry and am tired and just wanting to go blah today.

    OK, so I slept badly (have had that cold people have been talking about and spent a number of hours coughing during the night); am still getting over a cold; and have had a more than average amount of stress over the past few months …

    But heck, if you don’t start when you plan, when will the timing ever be optimum?

    Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow and then also to my next fasting day on Thursday. πŸ™‚

    Hi Kirsten, I found it really hard at first but I think the longer you do it, the easier it gets, so well done for pushing on through. How did you get on in the end? It’s definitely harder if you are tired and whenever I have a cold I just want to eat eat eat. I have to weigh myself every day to stay on track but it is paying off after a whole month of staying the same weight – the scales are finally budging the right way, hurrah! So determined not to be the fat girl this year…. πŸ™‚

    I pushed through, was restless during the night (also from coughing), and enjoyed breakfast the next day.
    I’ve got my 2 small meals already planned for tomorrow and am all geared up to go. πŸ™‚
    Fasting doesn’t normally drain me like on Monday. I guess it had a lot to do with the cold and accumulated fatigue.

    Keep on keeping on Kirsten70, I just started myself. I too did not sleep all that great after my fast day on Monday but I am taking two days off and then starting my 2nd fast day tomorrow. Are you doing the fast days 2 days in a row? What about you mcca?

    I am very motivated and nearly brought the fast day a day forward. πŸ™‚ Fasting feels good. It feels even more good now that I understand better all the health benefits it can bring (dropping weight as an extra bonus on the side).
    I’m all set to go for tomorrow. I hope I sleep better tonight, that will make the day easier. Still coughing at night though. But very, very optimistic. πŸ™‚
