  • Hi guys. I am sure that like myself the christmas holiday has left you with extra cuddly bits. I’d like to lose around two stones in 2015. Just because it is possible. Haven’t ordered book yet – is that the said thing to do? Are there any supporting apps that may come in handy? I use MyFitnessPal but not sure whether this would work with the app. Anyway. My new years resolution is to believe in whatever I decide to do. The 5:2 diet seems to suit me. I just need discipline and less cake! Oh and to get myself to the gym at least 3x a week. Good luck to those who are also starting.
    I’m excited.

starting this Monday too after a few attempts at other weight loss plans . I can manage 2 days a week I hope just not sure which days to do Tuesday is a definite, so will probably be Thursday. shopping for food Monday

I definitely recommend getting the book. Reading it is very motivating and informative. Good luck both!

I will be joining you. After using IF successfully for around 9 months, I know it works. I have had over a year off and the weight has, unsurprisingly, piled back on.

    Good luck!

Thankyou for support. Have lost 9lbs so far! Two weeks in. Very pleased. Have been fasting Monday and Thursday, I find poached eggs and salmon are a great breakfast under 200 cal! Diet coke is 0 cal and helps to stop you feeling hungry when the pangs come in. How are you doing guys? Xx

Well done ella!! 9lbs is a massive amount in just 2 weeks. I have lost 7lbs in that time and am really chuffed with myself. Poached eggs, without toast? how does that work? I like weetabix or a cereal bar for breakfast on feed days, on fast days I have 0% yogurt, only 50 calories. Homemade veg soup for dinner, thinned down more on fast days. Then something like grilled chicken fillet with ratatouille or an omlette for tea. Loving this way of eating, we can do this!!

Oh fab – well done to you also! I place a poached egg(64 cal) on a bed of spinach (6 cals) with some smoked salmon(90 cal) underneath, black pepper on top. Delicious! Thats when I have a 200 cal breakfast, which I enjoy when my appetite is full. Today was a fast day for me so had a small 100 cal breakfast, 25g of porridge (90 cal) with blueberries and half a teaspoon of honey. We also had grilled chicken with grilled veg (mushroom, tomatoes, sweet peppers and onion) and spinach. All just under 200 cal. Very tasty. Had a lot of sweet treats over the weekend so will be sensible on non fast days this week, and mindful that I stay under my 2200 cal recommended allowance.
I am thoroughly enjoying this way of eating too! Definitely noticed the positive effect on my attitude towards food.
    Keep going!! x

Hmmm, your poached egg sounds lovely. Spinach is one veg I haven’t seen much of here in Spain, I will look out for it. We are going to Iceland (the shop, not country) today to stock up on UK treats, my shopping bag will look a lot different than it used to. No more pork pies, scotch eggs etc. Frozen blueberries is one item on my list.
    We can do this!

I’m so happy with this diet! This is the first diet I think I will finally be able to lose the weight that I need to lose. I started on 1/5 and as of today have lost 9 lbs! It’s great seeing results so quickly.

Applepie, in Spain there are TONS of spinaches! 😀

Vitasloma I am sure there must be but I just haven’t noticed spinach, I am used to seeing it in a plastic bag in Morrisons haha! Iceland went well, even though my husband wanted all the high calorie items, I got my blueberries, and crumpets! I know they are not the best breakfast but every once in a while I love them. A little of what you fancy does you good I think. Getting towards the end of a fast day, grilled chicken and ratatouille for tea hmmm
