NEED A WEIGHT LOSS BUDDY!!!!

    Hi everyone. I’m new to this way of eating and I start tomorrow. Would love a buddy for some motivation etc. I’m a mommy of 2 and I live in South Africa.

    Hi topaz77, started my first day today, feeling very positive, it is such a motivating way to lose weight,
    I did not have breakfast today, still full from the xmas excess!!!! Had a low cal cuppa soup for lunch and just had a small pear, drinking lots of water too, fish and veg lots of veg!!!! Tonight. Good luck with your first day, stick with it , and keep in touch with your progress, I live in London by the way

    So in the book they talk about approx 500 calories (quarter of your calories).
    So I’m assuming it’s a quarter of the calories you would eat to maintain weight because otherwise a quarter of my calories would only be 300 calories.
    Do I stick to 500 calories? How many calories do you generally eat on non fast days.

    You must have 500 cal on fast days, and on non fast days, you do not count calories, but what I do is have porridge for breakfast, soup and fruit for lunch, I try to make my own soup as often as I can, then in the evening, fish a couple of times a week, chicken, salad and loads of veg, I found this worked well for me last time, as I wanted to feel not restricted to cal counting on non fast days, it takes a little getting used to, it is the fast days that make all the difference to how you feel in body and mind

    @funtimebobby – thanks for clarifying that for me. Today is my first fast day and it seems ok. The hunger pains are starting now but I will soldier on until dinner. I’m skipping breakfast coz I feel hungry sooner after having breakfast. Having plenty of liquids though
    I am still having coffee with a dash of milk. If I have to drink black coffee then I may as well quit drinking coffee altogether.

    Hi there topaz77, hope you are ok, try to keep busy when hunger pangs start, just getting away from what you are doing, if you can that is, if you are at home, try clearing out some cupboards or get out for a walk, anything that takes your mind off it. Remember tomorrow is a normal day, that always helps me!!! And think about how you want to look when you get to where you want to be, imagine yourself in that outfit you want to get into!!!

    So it wasn’t a bad day for me. Luckily I was at work and fairly busy. Dinner is around 6 tonight. This I can survive. Was a lot easier than I imagined it and I guess it gets easier and easier.

    I was encouraged by my OBGYN to read the book. Halfway through I decided no more excused and starting first thing. I am going to eat my first 250 calorie meal at 10 AM EST and then gym and dinner around 7 PM. I AM going to do this!
