Hi Laura, I am just finishing my first week and I fasted Monday and Wednesday. It went so much better then I could have imagined! I honestly did not have any issues at all. I ate soup for lunch and had dinner around 7:00 pm and that was it…total of 500 calories. I did drink lots of bubbly water (La Croix) and made lots of trips down the hall to the restroom (hehe) but over all I am so impressed and on my “feed” days I haven’t gone crazy. Can’t wait until next week and see what it brings! I suddenly do not feel that food has a control over my life!

The way 5:2 works is you go to bed, get up, eat 500 or fewer calories during your waking hours, go to bed, get up and eat to your TDEE or less – twice a week. On all 7 days of the week you can eat foods you want to eat – there are no forbidden foods, or foods you have to eat. For the first month or so focus on doing your diet days correctly (500 calories or less) and most everything else will fall into place.

Good luck tomorrow!
I have just finished my first week and seem to have lost 4lb. I know a lot of that is water as, they say, but who cares! I had to concentrate hard on my 500cals days, and even when not on the 500 days, I needed to check that I didn’t overeat. Portion size is really important I found. I did Monday and Thursday as my 500 days. I will do that agian this week and let you know how it goes. Good luck!
