Looking through the forum I see sleeping is a problem for some folks doing the 5:2. Today is the first day for me and I have really struggled to stay awake! Thank goodness I am not at work!! Wonder if anyone else had this?

Hi Chillitotes! Hope your fast day went well! I am still pretty new to this too (almost finished wk3). I found initially on my fast days I was really tired, like i could have slept all day and been quite happy! But after day 2, onto day 3 I felt much better, like I had more energy, and slept like a baby at night time. The only thing I have found on fast days is that I tend to be colder! Thats about the only negative and nothing a jumper cant fix!
It will get easier nd you will get less sleepy..! Good luck, A
Welcome! This is my first day too!
I am actually enjoying this fast day as a rest from food. I planned my menu carefully, with protein shakes to fill my calorie allotment. I find protein very filling, and my fast days will be focused on getting in enough protein. That will help greatly with hunger.
I chose shakes because I just don’t want to mess with food.
