Help 1 week in and not losing.

  • Hi all,
    I’m a female weighing 12st 5lbs, 5ft 3in. For the last week I have followed the 5:2 diet and have been tracking my calories with my fitness pal app. This morning I stood on the scales and have gained 1/2lb. I know it is much but I thought I would have lost some weight at least.

    Thanks simcoelov for the information. What you had to say made a lot of sense. I’m going to stop obsessing on weighing myself and just enjoy the 5:2 way of life. I think I might take measurements as I haven’t done that yet, after reading from some people that they haven’t lost weight but have lost inches. I don’t want to use the 5:2 as a fast fix diet so I will be happy to lose weight slowly, as long as it stays off. I previously tried herbalife and although I lost a stone really quickly it came back on even quicker with a few extra pounds too. So I’m more than happy to work through and enjoy 5:2.
