  • Hi everyone,

Just started on my first official fast today, was supposed to yesterday but life got in the way so trying again today. Over the past year I have lost about 45 lbs doing a really restrictive diet. It worked and I’m happy with my results but feel that it is not a long term option for me. I was introduced to this plan by a doctor who has been successful on the program. I’m trying to get the last 15-20 lbs off for good. All I can say today is wow, it’s been a rough day. Kinda of headachy mostly, the hunger pangs are getting to me now but I know dinner is only an hour away so I think I’ll make it. This will pass right? Looking for suggestions on how toget through my day. Drinking lots. Suggestions would be most welcome. Hoping I can manage this program as it seems as though people are very successful. Thanks all.

Raw carrots and celery! They are great tools to quell hunger pangs while awaiting mealtime or to avoid going to bed hungry. Also, I’ve been known to move my mealtime up by 30-60 minutes if I’m feeling desperate. That doesn’t happen much now, after 4 months (and 16 pounds lost!). It definitely gets better, but I never let myself get too miserable, even at the beginning. The idea is to do it in a way that you can continue for the long term.

    char6,

Thanks so much for the tips. I’ll try them Thursday. I did it, I made it to dinner today. I had a huge glass of water and that seemed to help. My last program was similar in calorie count to this but we took drops to help counter act our hunger so this is a different approach for me. I’m sure it will get used to it eventually and am looking forward to seeing results like yours. Cheers
