  • It’s Monday, it’s my first (official) fast day and I’m feeling good 🙂

I really, REALLY want 5:2 to be the way forward and a way of life for me. I’m starting at 14 stone and 3lbs, and hoping to get back to at least 11 stone, maybe 10 and a half which at 5 foot 10 puts me in my happy place 🙂

I’ve been reading the success story thread for inspiration and motivation, and I’m looking forward to posting my own success on there one day 🙂

So anyway, it’s nice to ‘meet’ you all, have a fabulous day whether it’s a fast day or not!

    hi and welcome Kits!!

    waving back at you!

well done for choosing this fab way of life and eating, please keep posting your progress and good luck on your first fast, have a great one 🙂 xx

Thanks for the nice welcome Angie 🙂

    Welcome kitsix!

Stick with it and you will be the one contributing to the success stories! It is a lie to say it is always easy and there is a good chance that you will hit plateaus on your trip, but patience is a virtue when it comes to 5:2!

You can always shake things up from a week to week basis, e.g. going on 4:3; ADF; doing a juice day or two, whatever helps to keep it going!

Keep us in the loop about your journey.
    Best wishes
    Stef.

    Thanks Stef 🙂

Well, first day over, not so bad yay.

Early to bed to make tomorrow come quicker though 😉

Welcome! My tip is to plan ahead what you are going to eat on your fast day, thinking what to cook on empty stomach is like going shopping hungry- big chance to make a wrong choices 🙂 good luck! Xx

Thanks for the tip Issu 🙂 I will definitely need to plan my fast days ahead I think 🙂
I woke up feeling great this morning after day one, wasn’t hungry either!

It’s beautiful here in West Sussex, hope it’s as lovely wherever you all are 🙂

    Have a great one

Weeeeell…. it’s my second fast day today and I’m feeling all positive and stuff about the difference I’m hoping this will make in my life, I feel like I’m in control, but without having to give up everything, every day of the week 🙂

I’m going to approach today a little differently to Monday, I had some Kallo dark chocolate rice cakes to nibble on throughout the day and a meal in the evening, but obviously nutritionally those things are rubbish, and I think that the grazing thing just kept me on the edge of hungry all day anyway, so today I’m going to try just tea, coffee and lots of water throughout the day, with a meal from Mimi’s Fast Cook book this evening

The main thing I will struggle with is boredom at work (nothing to do all day really!), so I just need to keep my mind occupied to stop the boredom food cravings.

Have a fabulous day lovely fasters!

    Hi Kits!

    How did it go?

I use to graze in the beginning of my journey, now just find it easier to stick to my drinks. Good snacks to have is spinach (may get few odd looks at work thou 😉 ), carrot sticks etc. I got addicted to my spinach at some point 😀

To keep things interesting you can drink herbal/ fruit tea… with so many too choose from I never get bored (well only if i run out and there is not much choice in my cabinet) my favorite at the moment is camomile with spiced apple, lemon and ginger, and yogi tea.

    good luck! xx

Hi Issu, thanks for the support 🙂

It went really well until about 3pm, I ended up going for a walk to the garage to get a coke zero because i was so ansty, I’m very bored at work though and that doesn’t help! I had my lovely stir fry in the evening and actually ended up with 260 kcals left over, had a small roll with chicken around 7PM, then felt guilty for the rest of the night even though I still ended up under my allowance!

Drank loads all day, water, coffee, camomile tea and one coke zero, I will try it again on Monday maybe, I’m not sure yet if I will do that or have a small lunch, or even bring my small lunch and have it around 3pm when I get to that “argh” point again 🙂

I need to go look up yogi tea now, sounds intriguing!

I did learn that I hate miso soup also, had a mouthful of that, it was awful 😉

Hope you are all doing well lovely fasting peeps 🙂

    Kits x
