  • Hello :).
I had a total knee replacement 8 weeks ago due to osteoarthritis wear and tear and recovery has been brilliant. I unexpectedly suffered a stroke 15 months ago and am on warfarin for life. I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation which caused the stroke despite being under 60 and very very low risk! I also take statins, not for high cholesterol, but it goes hand in hand with warfarin apparently :(. I have out on a stone since taking these and my doctor has just changed the brand due to my request as I have just felt so yuk. I do need to lose weight and hope to drop 3 stone. Fortunately I only lost 25% of my eyesight from the stroke but it doesn’t cause me any problems.

So my journey starts here and let’s hope it’s a successful one. Despite being in warfarin my INR nurse said it will make a little difference but probably not much and as it is under control she can’t see a problem with me doing the 5 2 programme. So I hope I can keep to the diet as I really do want and need to take the pressure off my knees.
    Thank you for reading! 🙂

    Hi Amber

Wow, you don’t do things by halves. You’ve certainly been through the mill and it’s only eight weeks since you’ve had a knee replacement!
Well done you for even thinking about trying to lose weight when you have had so much to contend with healthwise. Of course, hopefully, as well as losing some weight, you will improve your health too. So that might impact on some of the serious issues you have encountered. I certainly hope so for you.

I wish you the very best of luck and please let us know how you go on.

    Thanks PreciousBooBoo :).
I had my first fast day yesterday. Breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. My husband is away for a few days so lunged straight into it! I managed fine as I kept myself busy most of the day. So first one out of the way. Not as bad as I thought as I am a bit of a grazer!

    hi Amber and welcome!

I second everything said by PreciousBooBoo, and wishing you all the best with 5.2 🙂 xx
