  • I’m on week 2 of the 5:2 Fast Diet and things are going fine so far. I just wanted to say hi! I’m not sure how much I’ve lost, if any because I don’t own a scale. I plan to weigh myself at my in-laws’ house on a weekly basis.

A little bit about me and why I’m trying to loose some weight…In 2011,after a traumatic event occurred in my life, I unintentionally lost about 30 pounds due to stress and anxiety. I’ve spent the last three years focusing on my mental health which, among other things, included many varieties of those so easily prescribed anti-depressants. I’m not blaming the AD’s for my weight gain but it is a side effect of many of them, so I’m not ruling it out either. In the last three years, along with regaining my mental health, I’ve also gained back the weight I lost plus 20 more pounds (50 pounds total). So my goal is to lose about 20 so that I can get back to my baseline of where I was.

I was introduced to the fasting diet by my father-in-law. I don’t know how long he used the diet, but he was very successful in losing weight and also in lowering his cholesterol significantly.

My husband is doing the diet with me. He is my ultimate support system. He’s also hoping to lose about 20 pounds. Wish us luck!

hi Klous and welcome to the forums!

wishing you and your husband all the best on 5.2,happy fasting 🙂

    Good luck!

I weighed myself today and after two weeks of intermittent fasting, only 1 pound lost. I’m glad there is a loss but I have to admit that I wish it were more. I talked to my FIL today about the 5:2 diet and he lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks. I have a feeling it’s going to take me much longer. Sigh…
