  • Evening everyone,

I’m new on this website (my 1st post) but have been 5:2ing for the past 5 weeks. I’ve lost about 5 lbs, (haven’t weighed myself this week yet). I did lose 7 lbs but I seemed to have been losing focus lately and believe I’ve put a couple lbs back on.

I fast Tues & Fri and for the first month, no problem, it’s been a week since I kept to my 500-ish/kcal for the day but I feel that I’m not paying enough attention. Today was my fast and thought I was doing good but when I added some beef brisket to my scrambled egg, the meat turned out to be over 225kcal!!!!

I think I need to ‘back up’ and plan my meals better, “look before I leap” kinda thing. Today’s total was 900kcal and I feel slightly deflated. Think I’ll fast again tomorrow just to get back into the groove.

Has anyone else found themselves in my situation? and how did you get back on track? I love the 5:2 and I really find it pretty easy really.

(Note: I also have been doing Weight Watchers for the past few months before starting 5:2 and only have lost and gained the same 2 lbs!! Thinking of quitting the WW thing!)

    Hi bergenblarter
I would imagine most of us have been there – done that. The joy of 5:2 is the flexibility, if you mess up a fast day you can reschedule it.
I find planning my fast days and also keeping busy helps.
Draw a line under today and start again.
If you pay to go to a WW meeting or online I would say kick it into touch and use the money for something else 🙂 Having said that – the basic rules for WW are good so if you like that way of eating you can incorporate it into IF.
Keep going and no guilt about today 🙂
