  • So happy to find you all here as I am always looking for support and searching on line to see others’ experiences. Looks like I’ve found the right place!

My husband and I have been doing 5:2 for a few weeks now. He’s down to 88.5 k from 94.5 k but that was fast-started because we had a bad bout of noro virus. Me? I don’t weigh. I will weigh on my birthday in April. I get too frustrated if I don’t see great loss. Did read the book last week and just read the beginners info and FAQ and I will measure my waist and keep track of that. I have also been taking photos.

For me, letting go of the extra weight is so much deeper than just what I put in my mouth. This is the year for me to do a lot of digging deep into self-exploration and uncovering why I have put those layers on. and resist taking them off. This also is excellent practice to break the habit of eating like a farm hand would have back I’m the day when I have the calorie expenditures of a princess. I just don’t NEED all that food!!! (Yay having depression era clean-your-plate parents)

Due to an auto immune disease I already eat (for the most part) no processed, no grains, no sugar (honey ok)– called SCD. You’d think that would have made a difference. Lol. Weight loss will be so helpful with my energy level and activity. I already can tell a wee difference.

I’m trying to fast-track the loss a bit as I get a new horse next weekend and I am motivated not to load him don if I can help it. I’m 6 ft tall so the weight adds up easily. I do notice a difference in how my clothes are fitting.

I love hearing others’ inspiring stories and techniques. It really helps my motivation, so I’d love to stay in touch.
