Just joined not feeling too well

  • Hi I am not really overweight but would like to get rid of some belly fat. Have done the fast twice now, I only started on Tuesday and yesterday Thursday was my second fast day. I have lost an astonishing 4lbs in weight. Today, I really do not feel too well. Very light headed, weak, and my stomach feels really sore. It has eased off slightly as the day moves on. Is this normal or I have overdone it. Is 4lb too much in one week?

    Actually from 1pm onwards feeling fine. Have eaten normally and all symptoms have subsided. Maybe this is just an adjustment period. Hope so will continue the next fast next Monday.

    You are probably dehydrated. Be sure drink more water than you thought possible on all days. I drink 8 liters of water a day.

    Maybe have more than one day between fasts?

    Also, eat 500 calories on your “fast day.”

    Be sure to eat enough calories on your in-between days. You will lose weight unless you get enough calories overall.

    If you aren’t overweight, fasting once a week may do the trick, as will exercise.

    Hi @hmilthorpe 🙂 I have to say that after my first couple of fast days I did notice I had a bit of a sore/weird stomach feeling but into the 2 and 3rd week it disappeared luckily, I think maybe it is just the body adjusting to the change.

    As @amy C says making sure to drink enough water is important too – I usually drink at least 3 or 4 cups of coffee or herbal tea alongside plenty of glasses of water on my fast days – I find it helps with the hunger rumbles & stave off headaches too.

    Hopefully the feeling will pass and soon you will start to feel fine on your fast & non-fast days 🙂
