Doing bits and pieces.. a bit of cleaning sorted a bed out for Charlotte…
William came for a couple of hours.. he’s all fine.
Feeling a bit strange these last 4 days .. I am waking up feeling dizzy when lying down, a bit in the day but not too bad. I have upped drinking water and I have put new batteries in Steve’s BP machine.. I always have low BP but wondered if it’s gone lower.
AutumnSky..
No fasting for me this week.. it just hasn’t happened.. just been a bit off with myself.
Lots to think about for your job.. nice when you can go in different paths.

Well done to your son. . he must have worked so hard.
Sym.. What are you up to today.. I expect you are just ready to go now. Any more change of plans from the younger ones lol.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone .. “When you feel like giving up, remember why you started.” Xxxx
Day 3 – Lincoln, Nebraska, USA – FD800 – 153.8
I’m planning on fewer calories than 800, but I’m allowing myself some wriggle room; I will not, however, have any wine/beer/etc.
And we’re headed out the door to go pick up another load, so this is it this morning.

Day 3…….Florida…….CD
I made it through yesterday, did not think I was going to….. Monday just kept getting in the way of everything I was trying to do. Was so glad when the work day was over.
My FD was better than the last couple times, I was only over by 75 calories. That’s a win!
I did notice something in regards to this snacking business…. Well at least for me. I never made the correlation until the no snacking challenge came to light. I’m not a huge snacker, when I first did the 5:2 back in the day, I was able to break the habit….. on NFD days, snacking never even crosses my mind, but on FD I want to nibble on everything in sight.
I don’t snack but I’m wondering if this my own brain trying to self sabotage? I’m gonna have to research this some more.
Fun fact…… when I hit menopause….. I really thought I jump on the crazy train….. it was right smack dap in the middle of the C disaster…. Doctors were more concerned with the stuff surrounding that…. It was hard to get help….. I was on a 8 week waiting period to see someone about it. I took a nose dive into the world of mental health.
Very interesting world mental health….. By the way I was not going crazy….. my hormones were just way out of wack…..
In the midst of all this research on mental health, I really took a look at self sabotage. While they say it part of our mental well being and can be linked to stress, depression and anxiety….. everyone experiences some form of self sabotage. Dieters tend to have one of the high instances of self sabotage.
While there is no “cure” for this condition, recognizing it in one’s own self, can reverse the likely hood of doing it.
One term that is used frequently to reverse this type of thing is coined “show up for yourself”….. be the person today that you want to be tomorrow.
Im not saying snacking is causing any harm to those who partake but it something we should be aware of..
Today is a NFD but I’m gonna try to make it very controlled and since I’m traveling the next couple days, I am really focusing on making good choices.
My June goal is to really focus on 5:2 and increasing my walking.
@merryapple…… they probably do believe the earth is flat…… I only watched this one video but I am thinking this fellow maybe be a part of the doomsday preppers we’ve all heard about.
Sorry about the word vomit this morning about self sabotage…. I just thought maybe it could help knowing some of the useless information that rattles around in my head from time to time
Well I am off
Day 3 – USA/GA – NFD? – 241 lbs.
I’ve decided to wake up every day possible and start it out as a FD (ZBC), because in the end, I want most NFDs each month to be under TDEE. @stitchincarol Although I kept good weigh-in records, I didn’t keep good food journals or even notes about each day. I remember the FDs, but not the NFDs. I think after two good years, my metabolism changed, and I didn’t adjust my TDEE, plus old habits would creep back in. Anyway, 240s are unacceptable. I want to make a big dent in things this month, and I believe I can 🙂
Been to Asda and ordered some new glasses from my Specsavers prescription.I have ordered varifocals and have paid for them £80 , I pay more than that for frames at Specsavers.
Morning everyone and its a rainy windy one here.
Had a good week food wise last week and my overall weight loss for May was two pounds, not a lot but going down nice and slowly.
Jean not long to wait before your holiday. OH hates flying and the last time we flew was 1998 to Lanzarote. We’ve done coach trips to Spain and Portugal since then but not recently, although I’ve got him thinking maybe a holiday to a greek island early next year to celebrate my 75th birthday so 🤞
Dave lots going on for you to keep you busy. Hope Denise is starting to improve bless her it’s awful that they can’t get her necessary medication.
Julie wonderful news on your sons job and where he’ll be stationed, glad things worked out for him as he’s put a lot into it. Hopefully he’s getting over the tonsillitis and will be okay for his passing out parade.
Hemmy at least you won’t have to worry about the neighbours watering today, we looked after our neighbours plants all last week and it was quite time consuming. Hope Kristy has a lovely time in Greece. Interesting about the olive oil.
Autumn Sky glad you had a nice time away and managed to get a little decision making thought through before the busy day started. When I was working full time in an insurance office I was always at my desk an hour and a half before opening time due to oh and I travelling into Cambridge together and his start time was 8:00am but I was dropped off at 7:30am. I used to get so much of my work done in that time before the phones were switched on and the public counter was opened.
Am feeling tired this morning as we visited our Newmarket friends last night for a curry and didn’t get home until 1:30am. Was pleased with my food choice of Chicken tikka shashlik and a couple of tablespoons of rice. We’d planned on going out on our bikes today to visit a lovely pub near to the RSPB Fen Drayton Lakes today but the weather has put a stop to that, but all being well Geraldine will be out tomorrow for our usual Wednesday lunch in St Ives. Off to Sheringham on Friday for the week so won’t be posting until after then.
Take care everyone and enjoy your day whatever you’re doing.
Nana xxx
Good morning everyone a grotty day here pouring down. We finished papering the kitchen last night at about 10pm. Denise said I can have a week or two off then do the living room.I think I would like to start it earlier but see how she is. She puts the paste on and I put it up.
I don’t really mind playing the best players, you lean more from them but I would like an easier game now and then just to build my confidence up.
AS we are usually on the road for holidays abroad at around 4am, no traffic about at that time and we arrive at out destination around midday. Is an easy drive to the airport , down the M60 then turn onto the M56 and we are there. It’s about a 10 mile drive and we park inside the airport and only have to walk a couple of hundred yards to the terminal.
Jean a day closer to you holiday, hope your avoiding the cows on your walk with Charlie.
HH great news about you son you must be so proud.
Nana what you up to today will Geraldine be out?
Hemmy still no butter beans, they have them in all the supermarkets around here, if the weather is like it is here you garden will get a nice drink.
Better get Chloe’s raincoat on and take her out, she doesn’t seem bothered by the rain, some greyhounds don’t like it.I would love to go to see the Waxwork of Chloe’s grandad in London, he’s supposed to be very famous but I don’t know anything about him.

Morning everyone!
I started work a little early this morning as I didn’t finish what I needed last night.
Hedgehogs – Congratulations to your son! What a fantastic result. He had to work hard to achieve this, so well deserved. 🎉🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒
Right now I have a few decisions to make about my future, so I need a lot of thinking time. Working out the pros and cons of a situation and then I will make my decision. Typical decisions we all come across in life.
Have a great day everyone!
Day 3 NZ NFD 69.5kg🔻
Love the intro, David!! I think Henry the VIII had a traumatic brain injury from multiple horse and jousting accidents. He displayed all the behaviours which you might imagine led to him weighing in at an excess of 400 lbs… lack of resolve, Cruella visiting, erratic snacking and eating well over his TDEE!!🤣
I have had a terribly social and therefore erratic eating for the last couple of weeks… I’m keen to get back to my regular pattern of focusing on carbs, like oats and sourdough for breakfast and lunch then having vegetables and protein at dinner time. No snacking other than an apple at afternoon tea. I feel better when I’m eating regularly and in control… It’s bad enough having to do 2 FDs a week without having to to add in OMADs when I have overeaten the night before…☹️ It was fun though!!
I do love cooking fancy pants meals and having dinner parties but the cost of food has gone up sooo much it’s become a luxury…
Thank you @funshipfreddie for taking the helm. It was probably my turn but that great intro was worth delaying my round!!!
@bert1802 I nearly spat out a mouthful of tea laughing when I read your YouTube theory. They probably think the earth is flat too.🤣
@stitchincarol Great to read you’re in the new house!! It sounds lovely. And your steroid course has finished…
Yeah @ccco Great start to the month!!
@northgeorgia You have the theory sorted. Now to apply it!!
@brightonbelle, @anicecupoftea,@at, @iona72, @excelsior12309 I’ll be joining y’all in the refocus focus group💪

Day 3 CD country west Australia 83.7 kgs.
Thank you @funshipfreddie for taking over the reins for June.
I loved your opening spiel and it certainly has resonated with me too.
I will join the NSL.
It is interesting how often we/I eat things mindlessly.
Whilst in the car with the 2 toddlers mentioned below, we were coming home from a function.
My platter contribution was nibbles – small cubes of cheese, carrot and celery sticks- and I had the leftovers on the plate on my knee whilst DH drove us home.
The 4 of us ate all the leftovers by the time we arrived home. Not much dinner required after that !!
Apologies for being MIA in last part of May but unexpected 4 days of looking after 2 extremely active toddlers who prefer not to sleep much meant going near my computer just did not happen.
Hate to think what my inbox will be like and hope 🤞🤞I haven’t missed any bill payments😱….
Back in the office this morning.
@at I am unable to put my goal for the month in the spreadsheet. Put in weight no problem.
Anyway, my goal is to get to 80kgs and I plan to ‘ just do it’!!
Hi to everyone joining in for June. Yes there definitely does seem to be a more determined and optimistic air for June.
And a big thanks to everyone for posting, encouraging, giving tips, keeping the thread/ community going etc for the past few months whilst I have lurched along rather wildly as the ‘host’.I really appreciated it and your forbearance 😊💐
Hey @annette52, how are you doing, can you believe its June already? It is not too long until school holidays now! Should make my life a bit easier with less babysitting, youngest daughter is a teacher! Still trekking up and down the motorway most weeks for youngest granddaughter tho!
Be great to hear from you……
Day 2 NE England CD
So far so good for eating this month! I am all in for the NSL 🙋🏻♀️ I usually have a handful of nuts mid afternoon but I have been thinking this is just a habit I can do without. I can add the nuts to meals if necessary.
@stitchincarol Hope you are getting organised in the kitchen, we remodelled ours a couple of years ago and I still can’t find the right place for everything.
Our exercise challenge is just to keep our small group of Mums and Grannies accountable for 20 mins exercise a day for June. As I walk a lot anyway I’m adding some strength exercise to my day.
Have a lovely birthday @at how nice to spend it with DD

Evening!
Dave- poor Denise…shame you can’t crack on with the papering, shame that you keep drawing all the best bowls players!
Jean- glad all the flights & taxi are all sorted…hope William finds a job soon 🤞
Hemmy- well done keeping your weight stable! I’ve put banana skins in our veg beds when we made them, & soaked the skins in water & use that too, the plants do seem to thrive!
AS- well done getting back to it, hope the scales are kind on Friday! Hubby used to do invigilating, the organising was getting very complicated!
Rang my HomeStart family, then had zoom Safeguarding training, luckily not too long! Good news this afternoon, son passed his final exam & is going to be at Chelmsford fire station- that was where he was hoping to be sent, he’s really chuffed! FD here.
Hello everyone!
Long but good first day back.
Jean – I do think I will enjoy tutoring later on. I used to do invigilating and that is also something I can do as well as mark exam papers. But marking exam papers might be a little too much for me by then.😧 You must be very excited now with only 4 days left.😎 Good luck with you fasting over the next few days.
Hedgehogs – Started well yesterday. Stayed well within my calories and did my training and ended the day on 8,000 steps. Did the same thing today and feeling better for it.
You did very well to resist your cheesecake.😀
Brads27 – How is Denise today? I know she was not too well yesterday. You are actually playing some really good opponents. Especially some who you have mentioned are veterans at the game, so I would give yourself a little grace.😊
Hemmy – Thank you! Definitely a new frame of mind yesterday and today. Feeling nervous already for Friday (I will probably weigh myself each Friday). Understand about panicking where the flights are concerned. When we go away we always leave 2-3 hours before. We tend to get the very early flights, as they are cheaper, and can be on the road at 3am sometimes.
Have a few things to do before bed, but it will be an early night for me today.
Hope you all have a great evening.
We always get to the airport a minimum 2 hours early. If we go in the morning they’re is very little traffic at 4am. Lost a bowls again, I’ve played 4 top players on Monday and lost them all. I’m only an average player so not really much chance against them, I only lost by 5 so didn’t do to bad.
Hemmy..
Poor Kirsty I always think it’s stressful until you get to the airport.. I am leaving home noon Friday.. Friday traffic is always so bad, giving myself extra time.. I like Greece it would be a choice for me..
Have a nice night..
X
Sym..
You sound like you are ready for the off now.. Yes rain hopefully tomorrow as gardens need it badly //
Kristy sent me a mail this morning she had arrived in Greece for a holiday. Phil is joining her on Thursday so went alone… she had a stressful start.. Taxi booked for ..4.20am arrived at 4.50 so was a bit stressful as she had to do everything quickly at the airport all has changed with bag checks, but all ok thank goodness.
I would have panicked lolol
I really must ” Go with the Flow “lolol
Day 2 – UK – FD600
I managed to stick to my CD yesterday and our Sunday walk ended up at 6.55miles ✅
Today I seem to be on track for a FD600 – I have an evening yoga 🧘♀️ class that should stop me going over 🤞
@brightonbelle – thank you – I’ll definitely be trying to get my act together this month
@funshipfreddie – funny you should mention bananas as I have started having a daily one recently 🤣
@stitchincarol – good to hear that you survived the stress of your recent house move and I’ll join you in the NO SNACKING LISt for June as I’m planning on a late brunch and an evening meal on my NFDs and OMAD on my FDs for this month
We have got 10 joining in our Just Do It! ✔ June Challenge so far – Can someone call me out if I don’t do a daily post please as in the past I did find posting daily helped me so much to maintain motivation!!
Tomorrow I’m going to the coast dog walking with my DD and she’s then taking me out for a birthday lunch – planning on a light lunch (instead of Brunch) and a light evening meal

Here’s to hoping we all have great June results!👍🏻
Day 2…Florida…FDs
I can’t believe that it is June already… Where in the heck has the time gone?
I watched this YouTube video, conspiracy theory at it finest, that since our world is in such a state of disarray, God has sped up time to rid the world of dark things by not allowing them enough time to full execute their plan….. Which is why time seems to be flying…So, not a 100% sure if this is true but if we think about it. This doesn’t give us a enough time to execute our plan of losing weight and getting healthier. According to this conspiracy theory means that we need to get ourselves in gear and do the gosh darn thing! As @funshipfreddie said “Just do it”
In spirit of “Just do it”, I am going to do the Gosh, darn thing…..
Today is an FD….I really need a solid one as the last couple times I have gone over the 500 calorie and hung out right around 800. From past experience, I need to get in a minimum of three solid FD.
I am also embarking on something I did not do the first time around. I have challenged myself to start walking daily. I would like to get up to 5 miles a day, right now I am just happy to get in 1 mile.
I have also decided that I am not weighing myself until July 1st. I noticed last month getting on the scales daily was just making me doubt the process and when I doubt, I tend to eat more and become unmotivated.
Well, I must get moving…… it Monday and my inbox looks like my week is going to be less than desirable….
Day 2 – Lincoln, Nebraska, USA – NFD – 154.4
Still working at the kitchen cupboards/drawers…tedious process. Still eating rather reasonably. Today will be something on our pellet grill, and I’ll choose sides that are simple–perhaps just two steamed veggies. We’ll see; I’m not awake enough yet to actually meal-plan!
I’ve not read Jason Fung’s Complete Guide to Fasting…perhaps I should add that to my reading list.
@brightonbelle A vacation in Sicily sounds lovely!
@northgeorgia Do you have some record of what you were eating when you were solidly on your way down? Perhaps that would help you focus more on how to revise your eating now to regain the same steady loss…
Okay, @funshipfreddie, I’m all for pledging not to snack today, but what do the letters “NSL” stand for? Wouldn’t it be “NSP” for No Snacking Pledge???

Let me tell you about my new living room. There’s a large north-facing dormer window (completely inaccessible, just there to let in light and look lovely on the outside) and a pair of windows also on the north, and three two-foot-square windows on each side of the fireplace, which is on the east side, and a sliding glass door on the south side. So the room is exuberant with light and morning sunshine…such a lovely contrast to the house we were in, which was very pleasant, but never got direct sun until late afternoon because of all the trees. This is a whole new life, LOL!
Have a grand one, everyone!
Hemmy..
Just doing a few bits and pieces..
As Andrew said.. go with the flow, it’s all come together, taxi confirmed and fine…
Just get us all there now 😂
Gardens sound lovely hope you are managing all the watering… rain tomorrow for us all..it will help.
Fasting today and Thursday.. if I can..

Day 2 – USA/GA – FD – 244 lbs.
Eww, and I was mindful yesterday, too. I guess all the travel, vacation food, and need to rehydrate caught up to me this morning with a two pound gain. Hated seeing a number I haven’t seen in many years on the scales, but I am resolved to get the NFD count under TDEE. And I also need to remember Fung’s approach, where it’s doubtful you would get fat eating 3,000 calories worth of broccoli (if one could even stomach that much), but it is easy to down that in processed food in a single meal. Got to remember to treat processed stuff as poison and put more whole foods into meal time.

Good morning everyone. Xxxx
Its going to be a beautiful day again… looks like rain tomorrow.
The gardens look beautiful its a wonderful month for everything to bloom.. The roses are very big .. I am pleased with my pots of petunias so very colourful .. I had read that plants thrive on fruit skins as they have potassium. So I have been planting chopped banana and all other fruits skins in the pots and also around the roses.
A good weekend with food .. I haven’t felt been hungry at all. No large meals at all.
A S . A new week fresh start .. I hope you have a good one and the scales are kind. Do you have a set day to weigh. Its one my first things every morning lol.
.
Nana.. Hope all is well with you.
Dave.. How is the wall papering going. Did your son manage to get some done.
HH .. Hopefully the antibiotics do their work for you son. It lovely getting to your goal weight. Have a good week.
Sym.. Not long to go now to meet up with your family for your hols. Things will all slot into place once they get here .. Younger ones don’t worry and fret like us oldies who like to know where we are with arrangements lol
Enjoy your day everyone .. Remember, weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s important to stay motivated and focused on your goals. Xxxx
Day 2 UK f800
Back to basics for me – started the year well excellent January , good February & March , middling April and a disastrous May but we are at the 1/2 way mark and even after May I’m lower than year start and now’s the time to get back on track💪 so f800s Monday Tuesday Wednesday, I’m off on holiday to Sicily on Thursday and whilst I won’t be fasting I’m really aiming to be mindful and I’ll have the last 10 days of June to really make a difference

A real Sunday pocket list! 🎯 There’s definitely a sense of resolve in the air, from the northern hemisphere anyway. Maybe because you’re now in your summer months. My first June FD was a cinch, but it was freezing last night ❄
@northgeorgia – Well done for not doing any more damage on your vacation. Not a bad idea re the mirror! Or maybe hang one on the fridge door? 😅
@stitchincarol – I’m glad you liked the opening essay, thanks! And I’m in for the ‘no snacking’ pledge. As I have an 8 hour eating window every day, I think I’m starting to behave like I can eat whatever & whenever I please for the whole 8 hours 😳 Good luck organising your new kitchen! 🧑🍳

Morning All…
I have 4 days to go to my holiday…so a busy few days.
Katie has managed to change the flights for the boys international and local holiday flights, Johnny’s international for the Middle East.. so all falling into place, I need to confirm my taxi and see if he can accommodate 2 more people to come to my house, or a second taxi..he usually uses a mini bus 🤞🏻..
Hedgehog..
All is well at Jacqui’s end getting used to Will being home. He is a bit unsettled strange living at home again. He has bought a VW golf car so he has more independence. He went for interview but it wasn’t for him. Waiting for another call back from another company this week 🤞🏻to arrange a meet up.
Nasty about your son’s tonsils, Jacqui had hers out at 21. He sounds under the weather doing too much.
Dave..
Dinner sounded lovely, Chloe gets spoilt. Good luck to the rest of your kitchen, hope the papering gets finished today.
Jean x
Denise is so bad so no papering done, she can barely sit down. Farmer Giles are nitty very nice to have. Speedway got of to a bad start. Out best rider got knocked off his bike on the first lap and was injured so had to pull out of the meeting. He’s only 16 but will be a very good rider one day. It’s only like a youth team not the Aces they are called the Colts. Beef was good but we’re had no duck fat for the roast potatoes.I used beef dripping instead. Made too many Yorkshire puddings so Chloe got extra. She loves her Sunday roasts.I used semolina to cost the potatoes before I roasted them, turned out very crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.😋😋😋.
Day 1 – Lincoln, Nebraska, USA – NFD
I’m here! We have slept in our new home three nights, and it’s starting to feel normal…sorta, LOL! Nineteen years in the parsonage will take a long time to replace.
In the middle of May I was around 153-154. Then the move started in earnest, and I was working hard. I was also eating out or take-out most meals. Then I had the serious back pain and went on prednisone and oxy-something and my weight shot up to 160. I didn’t have time to worry about it; my focus was entirely on packing and moving. I finished the prednisone on Wednesday (and have needed the oxy-something very little), and by Thursday my body was starting to eliminate everything it had been holding on to. And last night, we had pizza and I didn’t even bother to feel guilty about it, LOL. I did, however, have wine not beer, and was astonished to find I liked it as well with pizza (thought of you, @penz!), which is a good thing because when I have a beer I almost always shoot up a pound the next morning.
And this morning, even with the sodium weight of that pizza, I’m at 155. So, I think I can safely say I managed not to gain weight while we moved, or at least not much.
My kitchen is not yet unpacked, so cooking meals of any sort will be a bit of a challenge, but DH and I are both sick to death of eating out, so we’ll be much more focusesd on healthy eating, and I’ll be glad to “learn to cook” in this kitchen where the layout is entirely different.
@funshipfreddie Your opening essay was so good. Thank you. Just do it…yup, no trying, ho hoping, just deciding, and a boatload of RESOLVE so that Action → Result → Motivation. DH and our sons and I went out to brunch after church, and I had some fried potatoes, two eggs, and two SMALL pieces of bacon, plus black coffee. Supper tonight isn’t yet planned, but it won’t be much. I think the day will easily be under 1500 calories, which is an NFD for me.
@iona72 How lovely to have friends doing an exercise challenge with you; tell us about it!
@northgeorgia Welcome back from your vacation, and how excellent that you didn’t gain. I chuckled at your thought that you’d go buy a mirror!
@ccco Being busy is an excellent reason for being late in the day to post; all that matters is that you show up.
So, if we’re going to run with @funshipfreddie‘s reminder against snacking, how about if we have a list where we pledge not to snack? And I don’t mean “say we won’t and hope it turns out to be true” but PLEDGE not to snack? Anyone game?
Okay, another half hour of relaxing, then I’ll be back at the kitchen. It’s so different from the cupboards I did have that it’s a huge challenge to figure out where to put stuff, but it HAS to work somehow, LOL!
Have a grand one, everyone!
Evening!
Dave- hope the speedway was good! And did the papering get done, as well as the beef?!
Jean- nice you’ve had a day with Jacqui & Phil, how is grandson Will getting on? It does sound complicated with Katie & her family, they will have to get a taxi!
AS- it’s great that you love your work so much! New start for you tomorrow…The cheesecake went down very well, my nephew is a chef & he was raving about it!
Hemmy- hope you’ve had a good day, & Nana as well…
Son did go to the pharmacy & showed off his tonsils, apparently the pharmacist was horrified! He’s got antibiotics, he doesn’t need to be ill next week, hope they work…Had a lovely day today at my sister’s, probably had a few more carbs than usual but not too many, resisted the cheesecake 😇
Will it be a mass Monday FD?
USA. Day 1. FD
Here I am fasting and on the pocket list, FUNSHIPFREDDIE!
Pocket List – Day 1 🥚
@funshipfreddie
@excelsior12309
@ccco
I am sorry to be so late today! I have been so busy!
Day 1 – USA/GA – NFD – 242 lbs.
I was happy to see my post-vacation weigh-in is the same as my weigh-in the morning I left. I was going to make today a FD, but it’s so much easier when I’m at work. It has been a ZBC so far, but a cousin died while on vacation so her funeral is in a few hours. However, the important parts I have been missing is eating no more than my TDEE each day and stopping the snacking. Although I won’t be having just a banana for my birthday, I completely get the sentiment and I can’t expect things to change in the right direction by throwing caution to the wind. One thing that was interesting about this last beach vacation was that the home had a large body length mirror in the living room, directed at the couch and recliner. I thought, how difficult would it be to eat in front of the television if you had to see your corpulence shoveling it all in? I may have to find a mirror 🙂
2nd Post – Day 1
@at – your birthday month?! Don’t forget to stock up on those birthday bananas😜
@excelsior12309 – yay for us Sunday fasters! Any more..?
Pocket List – Day 1 🥚
@funshipfreddie
@excelsior12309
Done some more papering, off to speedway in half an hour, my son is doing some papering at the moment where I can’t reach, her van stand on the worktops but I don’t want to risk it. Going to speedway in 30 minutes so it would be wonderful if he carries on while I’m out.🤞🤞🤞🤞. I’d better get back to it.
Day 1-No. VA USA-FD
Joining the June challenge and I will “just do it”. Thanks for the reminder about snacking!
Fast day to start the month.
Day 1 UK NFD
Thanks for steering us @funshipfreddie 👏
I too need to get my act together @at . I KNOW what works – putting it in to practice is another matter , I’m being realistic and a 1 – 2lb loss will be great this month
See you on the list tomorrow – Let’s do this 💪
Morning All..
Very breezy but warm..
Going to see Jacqui and Philip have a bit of lunch with them.
Hedgehog..
I am ok with the sleeping, one will go on the floor with a caravan bed .. all very tight, I have a small house..it’s feeding etc.. looks like she will be going to Stamford to see a friend and sleep over.. then going into a premier inn near Jacqui so she can have time with her maybe 3 or 4 nights, then to London overnight. Looks like she may have Johnny’s golf clubs with her as he is going away on business from Tenerife .. no way they will fit in my car…plus cases..
Deep breathe and as Hemmy said go with the flow!!.. I feel stressed!
Enjoy your bbq…
AutumnSky..
It’s nice you have a job you can follow as tutoring as you get older. Both my neighbours go and do extra teaching near exam times and other things to do with exams, extra money for their holidays both retired now.
Good luck on getting back on board… as I say..
Dave..
Well done on the decorating we are much slower these days.. hope the chippy was good..

Day 1 NE England
Inspired by @funshipfreddie to Just Do It. Thank you for taking the reins. I think Jason Fung talks a lot of sense, I’m currently rereading his Complete Guide to Fasting I have a daily exercise challenge with a group of friends this month so hoping for results in June!
It really did allow myself some very decadent treats, Brads27.😁
Hedgehogs- Fantastic that you are at your target weight. Sorry to read about not getting the deal for the caravan that you wanted. What you described did seem lovely. Wow! I bet that cheesecake will do down well. I absolutely love cheesecake. Do hope you have a great time at the BBQ today.
Day 1 – UK – CD
Perhaps my birthday month is the month where I find my MOJO and start to lose those extra kg/lbs that have crept back on…….
Today will be a CD leading into tomorrow’s planned FD
So even though the weather is not enticing out there ☔️ I am joining some friends for an early Sunday walk, planning on around 5 miles so not too taxing……
I have to go get ready as they will be at my house in 1/2hr ready to start 🥾
Hope June is definitely a “Just Do It! ✔ June Challenge” for us all
AS it’s allowed on holiday,I gained a stone and a half in one week in Benidorm.First time I have ever been there. I’m up early will do some more wallpapering before I go to speedway. The car park that I have paid for, for the season will be closed for a few weeks because they hate having 2 grand Prix at the track so have put up a massive temporary stand. Do hopefully I’ll still be able to park but on the far side of the track. Had way to much to eat yesterday, the house is in chaos with the decorating so ordered fish and chips online and had it delivered.Roast beef tonight if I can get some space to eat it and cook it. The sun is coming out so should be a good day. HH shame about the caravan but great that your at your target weight, you have worked so hard to get to it.Jean start again after your holiday you will soon shift the weight.Nana what’s you up to today. Hemmy still not got the butter beans 🤣.People around here go shopping in their PJ’s and dressing gowns, never used to be this way.
Day 1 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
About me:- David, 63, originally from Manchester, England. Retired & living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Been 5:2-ing/IF-ing since 2014 after watching Michael Mosley’s documentary, ‘Eat, Fast & Live Longer’. I joined the Challenges after I retired in 2018. I do basic 5:2, having around 600 – 700 cals on FDs – one evening meal – and I usually stick to an eating window of around 12 noon to 8 pm everyday. Currently weighing 71.7 kg.
Some wise words from Dr Jason Fung; – JUST DON”T SNACK – “The healthy snack is one of the greatest weightloss deceptions. The myth that “grazing is healthy” has attained legendary status. If we were meant to graze, we would be cows”.
Wishing everyone a RESOLVED, hassle-free June Challenge!
Yesterday You Said Tomorrow – Just Do It ✔
Pocket List – Day 1 🥚
@funshipfreddie
Morning one and all!
Happy first of the month. Where is the year going? I’m sure it was Easter yesterday.
Brads27 – Well done for getting your steps in. 61 is a grand age to retire, but sorry to read that you have those who have passed away so young.
Jean – You retired at 60 similar to Brads27, and both seem to have a very active life, the days are your own and you always talk about family, which is so lovely to read. However, you also mentioned those how have passed.
I’m in my late 50s, but I love what I do so much, I don’t think I would retire anytime soon. So, probably 67 at this moment in time seems okay. But I’ll probably still work a little maybe tutor.🙂
Hemmy – Going with the flow is a good saying.🙂 I had a nice time for a few days, and definitely went with the flow.
Did jump on the scales this morning I am now 38lbs away from my target. This week off, and not watching my calories carefully, I’ve gained almost the same as I have lost in total.
I have taken accountability and I am now back on track.
01.06.25 – 38lbs left.
Hope you have a great day everyone.
Hello everyone.
Neil, what a worrying time you’ve have had. Very glad that you are now on an appropriate treatment regime. I think winter walking has it’s own charm – with the appropriate coat, hat and gloves! Walking to walk is a good way of fitting it into your day – I remember that finding enough daylight to exercise can be an issue for you in a Dunedin winter.
GDSA, thanks for all of that carefully researched information. Your description of where additional fat stores are deposited post menopause is certainly true for the weight I gained last summer, which was a change from previous experience. I’m still looking at what your research might mean for my eating and exercise – I know I need to increase my strength training.
Cinque, your mention of bean soup reminded me that I need to make another batch. I do rely on hearty veg & legume soups in winter.
Anzac, Sorry to hear that work has been so stressful, I hope you find the way forward soon.
Turn, good to hear the house build is still progressing. The spot where you have been looks lovely.
Thin, I’ve lost track of where you are boating at present. I hope it’s enjoyable and that you are getting some nice summer weather.
Hello to anyone I’ve missed.
I’m still doing at least 60k steps per week (plus gardening) and sticking to 800cal per day. Despite this, my weight loss has been really slow. I’m lucky if I lose 1-200g in a week. Initially my weight was bouncing around drastically – until I realised my scales were the problem. So I bought new ones which seem to be behaving normally.
On a happy note, I am a great-great-aunt again. My niece now has another grandson. I’ve been busy cooking meals for them the last couple of weeks.
Also on a happy note I am just beginning to make firmer plans for next year’s travel. I plan to go to Scotland with a neighbour and a friend of hers. They are also planning to spend time in England, but I’ve already been so I plan to spend the time and money elsewhere – probably northern Europe as it’s easy to get to from Scotland. We are aiming for the northern autumn next year, probably September. We are trying to use trains where possible in Scotland -mainly because I hate bus travel and none of us want to drive ourselves.
It’s a lovely winter afternoon here. I need to go out an do some gardening. I waited for some decent rain to make the digging easier, so I have no excuse now. I have to dig up the clematis and move then to the front garden. I also have to dig up the root balls of the salvias from the back garden and prepare the soil for the new plants. I’m planting a camellia hedge and will be attempting to espalier it. Fingers crossed this works better than the salvias, which took up far too much space.
Take care everyone.
