  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Morning Cali.

He fell and hit his head on the ice up at the ski field. I was mightily pissed off because when he got back we found out the teachers hadn’t taken him to get medical attention up there. They had just bundled him in the van and driven him home. When he got home he had splitting headaches, blurred vision, and dizziness, so we had to take him down to A&E. We were there for over 7 hours, finally got discharged around 4am.

    Hello all!
Dave – hope the CBD oil works, there seems to be lots & different dosages, some people on the forum I moderate use it, I’ve never tried it. If it helps Denise I might when my neck is bad! Enjoy the F1, what roast are you doing today?
Jean- I hope your weekend has been a bit easier but probably not! Are you getting updates about Charlie?
Nana- have a lovely holiday, I miss Sheringham, I thought hubby might chose to go there for his birthday, but there was somewhere else we found…
Hemmy- hope you’re okay & have had a good few days …
Been quite busy here – Friday I did lots of cleaning in the morning & then saw mum in the afternoon. We were having son & his gf round for dinner Saturday but she has a lurgy, hubby has to be so careful about not catching things …so invited mum as I’d got extra food in, luckily I got it all ready in the morning as I went for a walk with a couple of friends & dogs, then had a cuppa & a catch up at her allotment, lots to talk about so didn’t get home until gone 5pm & I’d invited mum at 5.30! Had a nice evening, the food was good, I’ve seen mum 3 times already this week, so as she’s so repetitive it was getting a bit much, hubby put some Cannon & Ball re-runs on & she really enjoyed that, until she fell asleep anyway! Today much quieter, have made crunchie tiffin again for the firemen, I didn’t even lick the spoon & it didn’t tempt me at all 😇

    Day 22 NZ NFD 71.3kg 🏃🏼‍♀️

    This is a quick check in… It’s late 11.30pm
I read the whole month of September through today!!
I had a great walk this morning around a lake and up a hill, returning home at 1 pm. My new neighbours were drinking and blasting out Karioke torch songs in Malaysian across the hood, which continued through 7pm and beyond. I left the house then because I was so sick of the winey out of tune sounds…
Monday is a new day and a fresh start to the week!!

Good morning everyone where are you all? I’ve ordered some CBD for Denise too try and see if it helps with the pain and sleep. I was playing a bloke at bowls who is in a lot of pain with arthritis, he’s had one knee replaced 3 times, he told me about it and said he’s virtually pain free.I looked at reviews and that are the highest I’ve ever seen at 4.9. So I thought give it a try.If it works I’ll try it myself.

@jacko5 – here’s an interesting thread re IBS & fasting. Most people are saying they believe fasting has improved or even cured IBS symptoms, but some say they believe fasting aggravated it.

And here’s a woman who says she solved her 40 year problem in three days after avoiding ‘dietary starch’:-

But then if they plan on staying overnight, that’s another story. I think I’d leave them to it & check myself into the nearest B&B 😂

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Oh no, Neil, I hope your son is okay. Did he crash on the slopes while skiing or on the bus that took them there? Sending positive thoughts your way.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Evening all

Well the weekend was going ok. The weather was good, so I got some gardening done, helped set up for the frisbee golf tournament, and met a friend for cards yesterday. I was playing the tournament all day today. Then right as we were finishing up, I got a phone call from my son to say that he had crashed and hit his head on the school ski trip and had a concussion. We have to wait until they get back tonight to find out if he’s ok.

Yes Thin, NFDs are always the issue. I ate too much yesterday while we were playing cards. Friday night wasn’t too bad. I ate around 2400 calories, which is about my TDEE, but yesterday I racked up around 3100 calories. So today So had a fast day and stuck to 800 calories. I’ll try doing a control day tomorrow and then another fast day on Tuesday before my weigh-in

Anzac, sorry to hear things haven’t been going well. Please check in to let us know how you’re doing.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Thin, I somehow missed that YouTube video of your DD’s travels last year. It is just amazing! So many interesting animals and gorgeous scenery. So many times I wished some of the scenes would continue beyond a second. I loved seeing those wild macaws flying through the trees. Thank you again for posting it.

Anzac, I hope things are calming down for you today. I too, am sending love and good wishes your way. Is there anything we can do to help besides sending virtual hugs?

Cinque, thank you for the explanations of acid reflux and how fasting affects it. OH relieved a lot of his by sleeping with his head raised. First he used a foam wedge that I’ve probably written about here before. Now that he can’t get up the stairs to our bedroom, he sleeps downstairs in a hospital bed which is great for being able to adjust the height of his head. I sleep on the sofa a couple feet away.

Our refrigerator decided to die about a week ago. At first it was just the freezer and then a day later the frig too. It was a good sized side by side. Luckily, we have a smaller one in the garage that we were able to stuff with things like meat and cheese that would spoil, but we shop less often these days and stock up on more at a time. We had the frig for about 19 years, and according to the repair shops, the life expectancy is about 15 years so it wasn’t worth trying to get it repaired which would have been expensive.

I’m home with OH almost all the time except a few hours when the caregiver is here 3 days per week. So I spent the better part of a week on the phone and on websites of several stores. I wanted a white refrigerator because our kitchen cabinets and other appliances are white. And I wanted one that was counter depth so it wouldn’t stick out so far. It’s very difficult to find white ones these days. Everyone wants the stainless steel. White ones are often special order and more expensive. I remember when they were the cheapest. And we needed it as soon as possible and most stores were at least a couple weeks out. I finally found one that could be delivered in 2 days. It was more expensive than the ones I wanted, but we now have a refrigerator. It’s one with French doors and bottom freezer drawer. Less freezer space than the old one but more refrigerator space. They delivered it at around 9:00 in the morning when OH is usually sleeping, but with a sleep mask and foam earplugs, he slept right through the delivery, set up and hauling away of the old one. So that’s my excitement for the week.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

I’ve been a lurker for a couple of weeks. Lots of interesting posts. And some good losses reported. Anzac, I hope you’re OK.

Cinque, no, I’m afraid my NFDs will probably always be a work in progress. Perhaps that’s a good thing in a way – a constant reminder that I’m still the person I always was wrt food but that now I have tools to do deal with it. One of those tools is strict adherence to a FD every week. This acknowledgement is probably preferable to reaching a goal weight and then fooling myself that I can just return to ‘normal eating’. Relationships with food are complex as various posts here reveal every day.

So today is that FD. It’s a small price to pay to maintain a healthy weight. It’s not just the loss on the day, but the absence of any weight that I would have gained without doing it, ongoing adjustments to portion control and food choices, and ultimately avoiding that slippery slope.

Have a great week all and be strong.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Anzac <3
Sending so much love and good wishes. It sounds like you are having such a hard time. I wish we could carry you for a bit… but at least know we all do care so much.

Quacka thankyou so much, and sympathy for that salt messing up the scales. Maybe keep a graph of your weighing results, that will provide nice data over time.

Esophagitis is mean and nasty but therefore a very good teacher. I can’t believe how little food I can eat without even losing weight (although hopefully I am losing a little: half of that extra inch has gone from my waist). And it is very hard to fit in all the protein and veggies. But quite fun trying.

    Best wishes all

    Day 21 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 161.0

Well, so much for my pound a week decline. This final week of September is another opportunity, however, and I’m going to seize it with both hands. Today, I’m making a carrot/corn/chicken chowder for lunch, and we’ll have bread with it. Tonight is leftover clam chowder pizza. For one of those, I’ll throw in a salad. So, lovely foods, but not a ton of calories. I’ll have wine tonight.

@jacko5 Wow, IF is upsetting your IBS? Have you done any research to see if others have the same results? And if you’re down 2.5kg even with a two-week all inclusive holiday, then you certainly have all the tools to successfully deal with a simple party! 💪😉

@funshipfreddie Thanks for letting her know. I kept wondering if Gwynne would check in to the forum, knowing I’d also be watching the game. And her team won…it was neck and neck until overtime, then they scored in two plays, and tore us into tiny pieces and ate us up when it was our opportunity to score. Glorious for them, horrifying for us. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂😂😂 First world problems, right?

@excelsior12309 I often think about you and your office building; it has to be so frustrating that it simply hasn’t sold yet.

@michelinme You deserve to be proud of the loss you recorded yesterday, and your restful weekend sounds perfect. Enjoy!

    Hello wonderful Fasters!

I’m an old-time 5:2’er who began back in 2016 then joined #coda in May that year in her challenges.

Yes, I am alive and doing very well. Our new house is a real joy to live in, the swimming pool has been terrific, and almost all the outside work is done. Our upstairs deck is the last construction left to be done.

Oh @stitchincarol — what a game our teams both played! And the Nebraska fan base is quite incredible, especially to play against! I think our more seasoned quarterback must have had the advantage, though, but yes, the Cornhuskers are much better than previous years. But then again, so are our ILLINI!

Hugs to you all and best wishes that you succeed in September! Gwynne from Illinois

Still feeling buoyed up by yesterday’s weigh in, which kept me focused on healthy food for a CD.My stomach is almost visibly deflating – tho a loooooooong way to go!

Yesterday was a rest day – much dozing and a little gentle pottering. Today is more rest plus prep for a stall at community fare tomorrow. Supplies have arrived, but some printing to do then a very early night to get there on time around broken lifts, engineering works and a 10k city centre run.

@jacko5 well done on an excellent FD – and great results so far! 2.5kg in a month around a holiday is amazing progress

    Day 21-No. VA, USA- FD

Weight is static. Yesterday I drank a dark beer when I got home from work, and although it was enjoyable, alcohol has the effect of making me careless about what I eat and how much. So off “the sauce” for the next month! It also helps decrease carb. intake, which helps me with weight control. I believe @funshipfreddie has been alcohol free for quite a while and credits that with some of his weight loss. It does work, I find.
@stichincarol, enjoy the various birthday celebrations. @missybear, today is the day we move our two “rescue” cats into their outside living quarters. They will share a small heated barn and be able to wander around. I will get my bathroom back, without cats knocking things off shelves and tossing towels out of the linen closet to make a bed for themselves. And have faith, your house will sell! The buyer is out there, somewhere. (I keep telling myself that about my office building….) There is a belief amongst some here that if you bury a tiny statue of St. Joseph, upside down, in front of your property, he will make the sale happen…Google it….
    @merryapple, welcome back from vacation.
    @ccco, you are inspiring!
    @jacko5, welcome!
@northgeorgia, hang in there until October! A Fall re-set is in the air!
@flourbaby, totally agree about nuts. Though, if I bought nuts in the shell and had to crack them, that would cut down consumption drastically. Particularly Brazil nuts, which are impossible to shell.
    Soldier on, everyone!

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

Hi Annette, good result with the tape, often more rewarding than the scale! I have hardly had any biscuits in the last 6 weeks since starting the Pre-diabetic programme, it has been easier than expected and I feel like it has been such a help in my weight loss.
I reached my initial weight goal this week, so now I only have 5 pounds to shift to get to a 10% loss from the start date. The rate has slowed considerably but I’m confident I can do it.

@jacko5 – enjoy the party 🥳️ There’s a lot of evidence to contradict your medic; many people say IF can help to resolve IBS 🤔

@stitchincarol – “I burned the brownies..” very funny! 😂 I told Gwynne you’ve messaged her about the football

@michelinme – congrats on reaching your monthly goal already! 🥳️🏅

@merryapple – you’re back! 👏 71.5, not so bad after your holiday & still time to reach your goal 🎯

@flourbaby – have you tried raw/unsalted nuts? They’re nowhere near as addictive as the roasted/salted variety. Probably because they taste like cardboard unless you’re genuinely hungry. But I still have to weigh them out to avoid overeating them.

@brightonbelle – I’m not sure if you’ll find the pumpkin crackers in the UK, but there must be something similar there? Banting Spicy Pumpkin Crackers are made by Gracious Bakers in South Africa. They’re made from 50% pumpkin, + seeds. They also make zucchini crackers & beetroot crackers. Doing low-carb or keto in SA is sometimes referred to as doing the ‘Banting’ diet. William Banting was an undertaker in London in the 19th century, & popularised low-carb dieting in the 1860s (over 100 years before the Atkins Diet) The diet was recommended to him by a French doctor & he lost a lot of weight on it. Banting wrote a free pamphlet about the diet, rather than writing a bestselling book. He’s probably still kicking himself 😅 Banting’s story was popularised by South Africa’s Professor Tim Noakes in his bestselling book ‘The Real Meal Revolution’ about 10 years ago. https://graciousbakers.co.za/ scroll down & click on ‘Low Carb or Keto’

    Morning All,
The weight is that same but I have lost half an inch off the bust, which is great. I am skipping breakfast this morning and have a busy morning, so it should be fine.
School has been difficult with the endless biscuits and crumble plus cake Thursday. The cakes haven’t been great, so they are not an issue, crumble is delicious and enjoyed a couple of times a week but eliminating the biscuits is the next week’s task. I have done it before and it was fine after the first few days.
Really surprised that I can get some trousers in the cupboard on but they are tight and look awful. So I shall review again when I reach the 7lb loss target.

My weight isn’t as low after yesterday’s WF as it was after Tuesday’s, even though it’s generally even lower. Part of me is really irritated by the feeling of slamming my shoulder against the wall of 160 pounds, trying to knock through it and go and STAY below it….but part of me is really pleased that at least I’m eating appropriately and not going nuts most of the time, which is a dramatic improvement.

@ccco It strikes me that you’re doing wonderfully, given you had BRAIN surgery! So pat yourself on the back and be proud; we all sure are!

@missybear Oh, those agonizing questions when a house isn’t selling; I feel for you and hope you find the answers that are comfortable and reasonable–or, far better, that a buyer materializes soon! And then you’ll have brain space to spare and can get back to proper fasting; in the meantime, stay with us, because it’s a shorter journey to return to 5-2 when you’re already here!

@michelinme How do you make your garlicky kale chips?? And, oh–what a kind thing to say. Thank you. ❤️ And WELL DONE on achieving your September goal already!!

@jacko5 Welcome to our group! My best tip for you is in response to your comment that you’ll not have a second meal “unless it feels necessary.” It’s a serious struggle to commit to this attitude, but my answer to that is, “Hunger is not an emergency.” Also, on NFDs, try waiting to eat until you’re at a hunger level of 3 out of 4: 1 is you just ate, 2 is food seems interesting but just to snack because you’re not actually hungry, 3 is actual hunger pangs, and 4 is the stage of eating anything in sight–and too much of it–because you’re ravenous. My two best tips, but not tips I’m as skilled at following as I’d like. 😂

@funshipfreddie Yay you! Those lower numbers are so delightful, aren’t they?

@brightonbelle Sometimes people are more important than FDs; I’m glad you had a grand time! And, yeah, it sounds odd. Here, I get to share unlimited recipes this month, so take a look: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018543-clam-chowder-pizza?unlocked_article_code=1.ME4.nXyf.uuzMSVSaF_X8&smid=share-url Essentially, it’s two leeks cooked until they’re practically a jam, LOL, then spread over a crust with the clams added, torn up fresh mozzarella, a lemon zest over the whole thing.

@flourbaby I’m glad for you that your bedroom is completely sorted–a place of peace, indeed.

Tomorrow, DS27 turns into DS28. But he works tomorrow and Sunday both–a rare thing to work a Sunday, but another manager is on vacation–and then the race of classes balanced with work begins again on Monday. So we’re meeting him at a shopping mall today and shopping and paying for a new pair of shoes as his birthday gift, then taking him out to lunch. Hopefully we’ll be able to find a day to have a family meal with DS32-soon-to-be-DS33—and then we’ll have to hunt for a date to celebrate HIS birthday! So my plan for today is to eat minimally at lunch, and then bring something home for supper (a rotisserie chicken is high on my list), and eat it with a salad while we watch the Huskers play a rare Friday night game. We’re currently 3-0 (first time in years we’ve started a season so well), but this is the first conference game, so it’ll be a bit more challenging. Fingers are crossed!

    Have a grand one, everyone!

My carbtastic stomach has gone down by a 2″/5cm – possibly due to switching from carbs/sugar and regular processed food to cooking from scratch and low carb/no refined sugar, while energy and focus have both improved and my clothes are fitting better. Next goal – 185lb, and drinking more on FDs.

@jacko5 welcome to the September challenge! FDs are easy once you’re in the swing; the main thing I find is to have a plan, and a back up plan. Work out what you’re eating ahead of time, keep busy in the times when you might have snacking habits – or cut up eg carrots/apples to nibble on instead. And drink plenty of water/herbal teas etc. It’s not a bad thing to feel hungry – it gets us back in touch with our bodies.

Most of us would agree that NFDs are harder – that sense of ‘I’ve earned this’ and letting hair down. I find it helpful to keep in touch with longer term goals – eg remembering that I want to be healthier and have more energy, move around more easily etc -and that cake/drink/chocolate bar/sugar rush is a step in the opposite direction. I find that fasting resets my relationship with food so it’s much easier to step over temptation. And remembering that this is a way of life, not a diet – a way of eating that will lose weight in early stages but will benefit the body in all sorts of ways. Good luck!

The pocket list is a list of anyone who is fasting that day. It helps with solidarity and a sense of external accountability, so we can encourage one another. SO far today it’s just you but you might have company – meanwhile we’re rooting for you! You might find it helpful to read the first post of this month’s challenge, which explains the pocket list and lots of other useful stuff.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Good morning everyone, Chloe is by my side now on the sofa. I’m not having any luck trying to sort out my Humax box, think it may have to go back. I really liked it so I worked wants a replacement instead of a refund. It’s 14°C today and sunny so not too bad. Don’t think I’ll be putting the shorts back on though. HH hope your neck feels better. Nanna have a good holiday. Jean it’s a good job the food is not too your liking look what happens when it is😱. It will take me weeks to lose the weight I gained on holiday.

    @funshipfreddie

Thanks for the link. I’m going to spend today in the garden (weather permitting) and have already planned dinner.

I’m also re-reading the introduction to The Fast Diet to remind me why I’m doing this.

I’m at a party tomorrow afternoon so any ideas about planning/managing that?

    Day 20 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.1 kg

Major PFDS today 😇 I was decadently lazy yesterday & I only clocked up 3200 steps. But I had no hunger, even when meal time rolled around. @stitchincarol – you were right! I did see 70.2 for a second. But then I removed my dressing gown & it went down to 70.1 🎯

@michelinme – despite my love of peanuts, I’ve never really been mad about peanut butter. I vaguely remember eating it as a kid. But I bought my first jar about 3 weeks ago. It makes a good afternoon snack on NFDs, so I have peanut butter on low-carb pumpkin crackers instead of yogurt. Boo Boo is not impressed, she really loved finishing off that yogurt 😅

@jacko5 – welcome to the forum & to 5:2. Check out ‘Coping strategies for hunger’ under ‘MIND’ on the home page. There’s a ton of information there. You just need to find what works for you. Fasting might take a while to get used to, but it just takes practice. You can do it! Anyone can, with the right mind-set. I think we all find the NFDs trickier once we get used to the fast days. Maybe try to plan what you’ll eat – and when – the day before, and stick to it. And get rid of any tempting junk-food you have at home. If it’s not there you can’t eat it. A lesson I’m still working on myself 🥴️

Weather for ducks here; it poured the whole night. But I’ve got lunch dates today & tomorrow, so I need to go out. Aiming to be on my best behaviour food-wise

    Happy Fri-yay! 🍹

    Day 20 UK FD

I’ve been struggling with whether fasting is for me but I’m not giving up yet. On holiday a couple of weeks ago I discovered the delights of Turkish tea so I’ll have a pot on the go today. I’ve planned a light dinner from the 5:2 recipe book but am not planning another meal unless it feels necessary.

    Here goes.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Good morning everyone

Thanks for the congrats Neil. I’m very happy with the weight loss so far, even though it is not consistent. After my Wednesday FD I had actually put on 200g when I weighed myself Thursday morning! I ate within my calorie limit but I did have a lot of salt again! I made a Thai beef salad with Konjac noodles for FD dinner. It works out fairly low calorie if I don’t add too much beef but the dressing has fish sauce in it. When I checked how much sodium is in fish sauce I found there is 2800mg in one tbsp! There is 2 tbsps in the dressing. So whatever proportion of the dressing I had must have had excess salt in it. Oh dear, I really need to be more aware of the sodium in the foods I eat.

Hi Cinque, I’ve been meaning to ask you how you control your reflux. Thanks for such detailed information and yes I did keep reading! It’s interesting that you use frequent small meals to control it. The reason I gave up 5:2 last time is because frequent eating helped to keep my reflux in control too. The problem I have is that I was eating too much, all the time. So the weight piled back on and that’s why I’m back here and doing what I know actually works, which is 5:2. I admire your discipline in only eating small amounts, it’s something I struggle with. I am still trying to control the over eating on NFDs. I know eating too much doesn’t help the reflux but it also works against my FDs. I really focus on protein these days. I used to think I ate plenty of protein but when I worked it out properly, I was actually not eating anywhere near enough. Actually LJ, you mentioned the pea protein in your last post and I had bought some of that a few weeks ago and had forgot that I had it in the pantry. I had some yoghurt, strawberries and that protein powder for breakfast on Tuesday and it kept me full for so long. It wasn’t very nice the way I made it though because early in the morning I just scattered the powder over the yoghurt and then took the container to work. When I went to eat it, the powder had absorbed any liquid from the yoghurt and made the yoghurt dry and the powder gluggy lol. Next time I will add it just before eating and mix it in really well.

Well it’s my Friday day off today. It’s horribly windy again so I don’t think there will be too much outdoor activity. I might head into the gym even though I am pretty sore from yesterday’s class and training but it is good to keep moving when feeling like that.

I hope you all have a lovely day and weekend too. Looking forward to my Monday FD. I hope to break into the 77kg range next week.
    Take care all xx

Dave- thanks for bringing the weather home! Chloe the cling-on now 😄 Hope all the bowls matches go well, & definitely lettuce sandwiches for you for a couple of weeks!
Jean- a shame it’s so hot, have you been in the pool much? Nice to see the grandchildren though, the boys will have flown the nest for college soon…
Hemmy- you’ll be ready for a rest over winter with all your gardening! Does it take long to mow your lawn?

I’m fairly new to this and am struggling with a feeling of wanting to overeat on NFDs. As a result, I’m barely losing weight. FD tomorrow. Any guidance?

    Day 19 second post

I’ve got disconnected from reading/responding to posts by reading late at night then sleeping. So a second post on this wonderfully sunny warm day, when I woke early and was all done with meetings by 10am – time to catch up and share my food journal!

I dedicated a chunk of time today to some meal planning and prep, rummaging through the freezer and co-cooking with my lovely friend. I now have batches of carrot, cannellini bean & ginger soup, plum/nectarine/pear compote and lipsmacking garlicky kale crips (YUM and only 22 calories/portion!), plus prepped cauliflower and broccoli and a plan for sweet potato and courgette dahl.

Tonight’s OMAD (apart from kale crips!) will be red cabbage and beetroot soup (from the back of the freezer) steamed corn on the cob with sweet potato/butternut squash/pea/red lentil dahl, and fresh peach and blueberries with some vegan yogurt for extra protein. I can’t believe how much fruit & veg it’s possible to eat in one day!

@penz your load would bring me down too. It’s really hard when people we care about are going through cancer treatment or struggling with mental ill health. We carry their pain on our hearts almost as much as if it were our own.

@brightonbelle I see you’re also doing FD800s – how are you finding them, cf FDs?

@excelsior12309 I hope things go as well as possible with the vet’s visit. it’s so hard when our pets are struggling

@funshipfreddie I can’t have peanuts in the house – or cashews! They never get to the planned recipe or visiting guest because they’re far too tempting and moreish. I can just about resist 100% natural peanut butter as long as there’s nothing to spread it on! I’d love to know how you choose between mosaic (creative, meditative) and line dancing (energetic, social)? And thank you for collating the pocket lists.

@stitchincarol I do get sensorily overwhelmed by lots of clutter but also when there’s so much to process that I can’t take it all in /remember what’s there – I stop seeing things if there’s too much of them. Then I stare at the fridge and can’t work out what’s there – and it’s easy to overlook what needs eating up, and I hate wasting food. Now feeling it’s broken down into identifiable things that are ready to use without a lot of work – just what i need for busy/tired days.

I’d forgotten how warm and welcoming your lovely posts are. I just love the chatter of happenings in your household, ministry and family life, and the way you notice and encourage each one of us. Thank you!

@northgeorgia I’m so sorry you went through losing your dear Dad in such a traumatic and painful way. Really glad you can be with you mother today and hold the loving memories close.

@ccco I hope you are looking after yourself in this post-surgery time. In some seasons we do seem to slow down or can’t notice how much we are doing – so easy to see only what we miss. Take care

@missybear house-selling/home-moving is super stressful, especially when you’ve made the decision but feel powerless while other people make their minds up. It’s one of the top 10 stressors for most people. All those actions, plans, people, and the shape of the next chapter are waiting for the right person to come along. there’s so much going on under that simple description of ‘house-selling’. Go gently. There’ll be another FD.

Okay – it’s soup time! Not got much work done today, but there’s it’s been great to have a practical focus today and there’s always tomorrow!

Sending strength to today’s fasters. I hope all’s well with @at, @daffodil2010 and other friends.

    Day 19 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Well today’s scheduled FD just isn’t happening. I’m not in the mood, feeling low, nothing tragic going on just finding trying to sell the house stressful. Busy days of cleaning and tidying getting the place show home ready for viewing only to get feedback that the house doesn’t suit the viewers. We’re starting to think we may have to take it off the market over the winter and get some maintenance jobs done to refresh it ready for re entering the market next year. Disappointing as we hoped to move this year. So my inner toddler doesn’t want to restrict intake today, I’m not face stuffing, just having a NFD.

Hopefully you Thursday fasters are showing more discipline than me today 🤗
