Day 26 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.8 kg
The Tuesday FD was a struggle, but I nailed it 💪
@brightonbelle – the temptations are still lurking! I found a litre of Belgian Chocolate Ice cream in the freezer, & a whole packet of chocolate chip cookies in the cupboard. I’ll have to give them away 😳
@icystorm – I watched Dr O’Neill’s – ‘How Intermittent Fasting Save My Life’ on YouTube. What an inspiration! And the list of ailments he suffered before his dramatic weight loss, incredible.
Line-dancing this morning 🕺 💃
Happy Hump Day! 🐫
Pocket List – Day 26 🍇
@at FD800
@brightonbelle FD800
Hi everyone
I can’t believe how quickly time flies, even when not working. I am determined to fill my days with productive tasks and do all those things I moan about not getting time for. This entails deep cleaning in the back of cupboards etc, decluttering, exercise and lots of cooking of healthy meals. My weigh loss is back on track and heading nicely in the right direction
I have an interview tomorrow that I am quite hopeful about. It came via a connection which makes sense. I read articles every day saying that you can apply for 100 jobs but 80% of the time you will find another job via someone you know. Fingers crossed!
Bali sounds absolutely divine Lindsay and yay for your cozzie fitting so nicely
I hear you Neil, sometimes there is no rhyme or reason for the scales misbehaving but as you know if you stick to it the results will come
Your day out in the winery sounds beautiful Thin. I too am terrified of sharks so rarely swim in the ocean – and even then only in the shallows. My niece has taken up ocean swimming racing in the past 18 months and my heart is in my mouth each time she is racing. Ugh
Quacka you are going to be fit, slim and fabulous for your holiday. Yay!!
I hope your legs are feeling better Cinque
Sorry for your lost posts G’day, it is SO frustrating
Ok I need to do some interview prep so will say bye for now and let you know how it goes tomorrow
Good Morning Everyone
Thanks Neil and thin! I’m on my second FD for the week and still feeling very positive although there was no jogging this morning lol. I did go to the gym though so I’ve done some exercise for today.
Neil, don’t worry about that 1kg. I’m guessing it’s just water weight – sometimes we hold on to a little extra water depending on foods we have eaten. You said you have been feeling a bit stuffy, it could just be your body responding to that. Yes, our bodies are sometimes strange, inconsistent and inexplicable. Next week I bet you lose more than you expect!
Thin, you are always an inspiration with your dedication to fasting and how you don’t let anything get in the way of it. Under 60kg is great!
G’day please don’t let those lost posts stop you from posting. I understand how frustrating it is though. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi to everyone else reading and not posting. Remember it’s ok to just say a quick hi if you like. Hope you are all ok xx
Neil, that’s annoying. Big loss next week let’s hope.
Day 26, NFD, Aus
Hello all. Just checking in. Feeling very sluggish today for no reason. Had a great night’s sleep. Perhaps waking to another cloudy day is all it takes?
Morning all
Well, I don’t know where that came from, but I was up a kilo this week at my weigh in. I’ve been keeping pretty consistent with my eating, no binges, no excessive sugar or starchy carbs. It’s a weird one. Our bodies can be so frustrating sometimes when they randomly decide to pile on weight for no reason.
Good evening everyone xxxxx
It been a beautiful spring like day quite warm at times.
Early long walk then Garden centre for noon. A lovely catch up and monthly lunch with Chris.
Coronation chicken on Jacket potato with salad .. all tasty but too much for me.
A good look around and exchanged some books as they have an exchange system.
Just an easy day as only played outside with Pip when I got back.
Tomorrow its Banbury to pay bills at the Post office. I miss my local Bank.
Dave .. So glad you are feeling better ..How is Denise today .. How are you doing with your portions today .
H H ..How is your back today…. do you have an heated blanket to put on it. while sitting.
Sym.. You are super busy .. dont overdo it after your lovey holiday ..Well done at the Petanque.
Nana Hope you are having a good day . Its Geraldine weather.
Enjoy your evening all “When you feel like giving up, remember why you started.” Xxxx

Day 25 – USA – FD
I hope everyone is having a great day or night, whether fasting or otherwise! I’m gradually becoming accustomed to fasting again.
Many thanks to everyone who responded to my comments about my missing post.
Blessings, great fasting, and wonderful health to all!
Kind regards,
Joseph
I enjoyed my Petanque today I didn’t embarrass myself.. I played with 5 men and played extremely well I was very surprised… my new eyes worked well!
We won all our games.
Car service and MOT tomorrow up early to take the boy out.. I need to be Scunthorpe by 10.30, about 40 mins away.

Hi all, checking in… good to see you back @at 💕

Day 25 – UK – FD800
Had a good FD800 yesterday and aiming for another one today 🤞 Planning my 2 small meals a day on MFP to ensure that I stay below the 800cal mark……I know that I can do this 💪
Went walking with my usual group today – mainly dry with a bit of a drizzle but mostly dry
@brightonbelle – good to have your company for these last few days of the Fab feb 25 challenge – are you doing B2B FD800s too??
Day 25 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 235 lbs. I haven’t gotten far this month, but I’ve been pushing the average weight down a couple of pounds and maintaining around the 235 lb. level. Considering the ridiculous amount of stress, I think that’s a win for the month. March will be the same until mid-month, then vacation, so I don’t see a lot of change then, but maybe I can keep the downward pressure on 🙂
Day 25 UK f800
At least the temptation has been removed now @funshipfreddie
What a fab description @merry🍎Enjoy!
I can’t offer any explanation @icystorm we sometimes do get spam posts , but we have to report them and it can take a while to remove , maybe they’ve upgraded ??
Good to hear from you @at , my month hasn’t gone to plan either but at least we can see the month out on form setting up for March 🌼💪
Have a great day all

Morning All..
A bit chilly out but sunny..a lovely catchup with Natalie boys were fussy.
Playing Petanque today it must be 8 months since I played mostly due to my eyes, a few people have left. We have a full turn out of 12 people so two matches.. 3 on each side x 2..
I hope I don’t embarrass myself!😂
Hedgehog..
Lovely to catchup with family ours is so small now, more abroad than here ☹️
My weight seems to be going down slowly …
Dave..
Pleased you are feeling a lot better.. Steve always loved his pies!
Hemmy..
Enjoy your garden centre lunch..

Good morning everyone feeling much better today. Must try harder to not eat too much and eat better things. Must have smaller portions as well. Only trouble is when Denise makes a pie I’m like Desperate Dan with a Cow Pie. It tastes so good so I don’t complain 😂. What you all up to?
Day 25 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
I lost the plot yesterday when I found cookies & nuts my friend left. They are now gone, but I’ll attempt to make amends with an extra FD 💪
@icystorm – the forum can be temperamental when you try to post some links, but I’ve never had a problem with YouTube links 🤔 I didn’t see the longer post that @penz mentioned. Maybe it was sent to people who subscribe to the emails.
@merryapple – your trip sounds idyllic!
Off to the mosaic class. Have a great day everyone.

Day 25, NFD, Aus
I seem to be doing my own form of ADF – but that stands for alternate day forum! How did I miss posting yesterday?!? Yesterday was really a CD rather than my usual Monday WFD but at least I was controlled.
Your getaway sounds divine @merryapple. NZ is a beautiful country.
Your long post survived @icystorm!
Quacka, great job. Keep going, good for you. I managed to put in another FD on Sunday in between social engagements. Keeping under 60kg so I’m very pleased.
Cinque, yes, I was wondering about LJ. She uses the forum as a personal food diary to keep herself accountable so I’m hoping she’s doing OK.
GDSA, lost posts are frustrating.
Neil, I’ve never been much of a swimmer although my mother was, and DD is, a competent swimmer When OH and I first landed in Perth in our campervan, knowing not a soul, we sat on the beach on Christmas Day because that’s what we understood Aussies do. We exchanged our presents on the beach. I’d given him a book entitled, ‘Dangerous Creatures of Australia’ and he’d given me, ‘Crocodile Attack’. We were too terrified to go in the water. I think of sharks when I’m in a swimming pool, let alone the ocean. But we carried the tradition of going to that beach every Christmas morning. DD ultimately learned to surf and I’d sit on the beach looking out for sharks.
I was going to post an update but noticed scrolling through posts that none of my last 3 posts are showing here – feeling disheartened so not going to bother writing an update. If this posts shows up then have a nice day everyone
Morning all
Quacka, Go you! You’re on a roll.
Thin, I used to swim up to 3kms each morning, 19kms is something I wouldn’t even consider, let alone in shark infested open waters. People are amazing.
Cinque, Ha! Yes any exercise you’re not used to doing can leave you pretty sore. I’ve been biking a lot the last few years, but a couple of years ago I tried taking up running as well. I didn’t have any problem with the fitness side of things, but the following day my thighs were so sore I couldn’t stand up. I guess running uses the muscles in a different way to cycling.
Lindsay, I hope you’re enjoying your trip to Bali.
I’ve been feeling a little off colour, my nose has been blocked up the last 2 weeks, and when I went to mow the lawn in the weekend I was a wheezy snotty mess. I guess there’s something flowering at the moment that’s triggering my hayfever. The weather was a bit blah in the weekend so I spent it doing some preserving. I made a big batch of plum jam from the plums off our tree, and got a few Agee jars of pears bottled from our pear tree.
Well, have a good one everyone, I’ll check in tomorrow for my weekly weigh-in
Day 25 NZ NFD
Greetings all!! I’m in a dear wee Waikuku Beach crib north of Christchurch waking up to a blanket of dense thick white fog, the sound of the odd seagull plus a moo here and a moo there. Today we’re off to a vineyard called Craggy Range, then to have a soak in the restorative mineral waters of Hamner Springs and take the high road over the Southern Alps to Reefton, on the wild West Coast.
Christchurch looks shiny and new in some areas and still broken down in others thanks to the earthquakes. I visited the ChCh Art Gallery where one of Billy’s works was hanging – bittersweet… ❤️💚
I did do a FD y’day but my 500 cals was exceeded by a Texan Chilli sausage, a saveloy, a lamb cutlet, and roasted vegetables all cooked on the BBQ, a corn cob and rice crackers and cheese plus a glass of Campari, Milk Stout and a Reisling🤣 It was all delicious!!! There are no scales in sight luckily…
We’re getting up to pack up now.
Have a great day everyone!!
Day 24 – USA – NFD
Hi! I hope you’re all well and crushing your goals! 😀
I posted a longer message of my journey today and encouragement to everyone earlier, twice, and it disappeared both times. I’m not sure if I’ve run afoul of the site’s guidelines. I took note of a similar issue and the response from years ago here:
https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/both-my-posts-have-disappeared/
Perhaps it was because I posted links to YouTube videos or discussed IF methods other than the 5:2 diet? If so, and if I’ve ruffled any feathers, my sincere apologies! 😀
Best,
Joseph
Afternoon!
Lovely day yesterday, we did Church & went to my sister’s in the afternoon, her son & grandson were over, nice & Mum went as well, Archie is a sweetheart, he loves his books & singing, played with her dog Paddy too…a good day food wise, & will have just one meal today. Have pottered about a bit, back is improving but I feel it if I do much so being careful…
Dave- hope you feel better soon, dry toast? Sounds like your roof is finally fixed, shame about the cycling though…
Jean- good that Charlie was fine & busy on his holiday, & the cruise ship was as good as last time…I’m sure you’ll soon shift the extra pounds!
Hemmy- a busy day for you, must have been satisfying to get cleaning done, but it’s alot when you have a long walk with Pip first …
Nana- hope you had a good weekend?
Afternoon All
Jacqui has had chicken pox, she was contagious before the holiday but the heat suppresses the spots, she still had the first few still showing. The doctor needs her to have a blood test but she thinks it will be negative for other things. She has to wait two weeks as no appointments!!
At least we know.. I said that when the first spots showed. Mum knows😂!!
Dave…
Sorry you are still feeling so ill there’s lots of it about.. rest up and be looked after..
Nana..
A busy day wrapping the snow globes. Hope she settles in Yorkshire.. well done on your half off…
Hemmy..

Good afternoon friends Xxxx
Its a beautiful day .. just come in for late lunch after cleaning the car . So again I will only want a snack this evening.
I hate car cleaning but its Garden Centre lunch tomorrow and my friend is very fussy lol I always feel I must have a clean car not a dog carriage lolol
Dave .. I hope you feel better soon.
H H ..How is your day going.
Nana .. Well done with getting back on track with losing.
Sym It sounds like you had a wonderful time. How is your daughter.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone.

Day 24 – UK – FD800
Having not managed one FD so far this month – I am aiming for B2B FD800 from today until the end of the month to make amends and try and regain focus – I have weighed myself this morning and will do daily weigh in to see what impact it has 🤞
Very happy to do a spreadsheet for March @lilymartin – it will be ready to add to the challenge when you set it up
Hoping this week gets me focused and ready for daily. posting in March
Afternoon everyone, it’s a lovely sunny afternoon here.
Have been busy today starting with having my nails done first thing and then an Aldi shop afterwards.
My effort to get back to my normal eating last week rewarded me with my usual half pound loss which I was pleased with.
My weekend was quiet no visitors so took the opportunity to wrap my daughters snow globe collection for when she comes back down here to pack up the rest of her possessions in a couple of weeks to take back to Yorkshire.
She’s moving into her own flat this coming weekend and has been out and about buying bits of furniture for it.
Dave I hope you start feeling better soon, not a nice thing to have.
Jean glad you had a nice holiday away and Charlie is now settled back home with you.
Hemmy hope you’re day is going well.
Hedgehogs also hope you’re day is going well and you’re mum isn’t stressing you out to much.
Im aiming for another good week eating wise.
Enjoy your week everyone.

Good afternoon still feeling rotten.Chloe knows I’m now well. She keeps staring at me then coming up to me and rubbing her head against me ❤️. Had no food since 5pm Saturday so the virus will be doing some good. Not sure if I can eat yet, I do feel a little peckish now.

I am joining the fasters today! February has not been my greatest month; there was a period of some prednisone, for wheezing, which did not help the weight loss process; then there was a bread situation, same result as prednisone. So on the wagon with the fasters today! March will be coming soon…

Good morning everyone, think I have the norovirus. Was supposed to be going to the cycling at the velodrome last night but was too ill. My son went on his own, he’s never been before. He said he enjoyed it and would go again. My dad used to take me when I was a boy but that was an outdoor track and concrete not wooden like the modern ones are. The roofers did pour water down to test it but it was pouring down yesterday so that gave it a good test. Not had any food for 34 hours just 2 glasses of water and I fetched one of those back
Still can’t keep off the toilet but will be happy off I can keep the fluids down. Not hungry so it will do some good this horrible virus. Will tasty and take Chloe out today my son took her yesterday.
Morning All..
All unpacked and washing in piles…
We have had a good time as good as last year. Azura is an old traditional ship with two black tie nights, very friendly staff who look after you.
I have put on 7 lbs while away .
Charlie has been fine but he’s not slept much at all. He has a tracker so I know what he gets up to. One day I think he got missed for a walk but he has had a lot of exercise playing with the other dogs the other days.
Hemmy..
I have a bit of colour but all wrapped up now!
Charlie was very excited to see me but has totally crashed out yesterday and was very close to me last night.
Slow down like your mum says there’s another day.. share the work out over a few days it makes it easier. Mr Pip will look smart Charlie likes a good brush ( we don’t do water!) 😂
Dave..
Hope you are feeling better and more yourself.
Glad the roofs finished.
Hedgehog..
Hope your backs improved and you have got over your hangry mood with mum. Her house always seems a difficult one.
Shower and walk.. was raining looks brighter now.. boy still crashed out..so no dashing…

Day 24 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.9 kg 🥳
Well, I’m gob-smacked. Only one FD last week, & I’ve eaten with abandon, + had things like milkshakes, ice cream + other desserts. And I’m down 0.1 kg from a week ago 🤷 I’m not complaining, & I’m not going to over-think it. My guest wasn’t a breakfast eater though, so I stuck pretty much to my eating window & didn’t really do any snacking.
@brightonbelle – I found a few clips of ‘Car Share’ on YouTube. Peter Kay is a comedic genius. And just listening to him makes me feel a bit nostalgic. My parents/grandparents had the same accent, & used a lot of those northern expressions he uses.
@icystorm /Joseph – thanks for the YouTube links re Dr Frank O’Neill, I’ll definitely check those out! Kudos for your 42 hour WFDs. I’ve never even attempted a water-fast. But then, I don’t think I’ve ever been more than 10 kgs/22 lb over my current weight.
The last week of Fab Feb! Ditto what @iona72 said – one last big push. I’m even contemplating an extra FD tomorrow, just to flex my fasting muscle & to make up for last week 💪
Sending RESOLVE to the Monday fasters 🎯
Good Afternoon everyone
Monday FD today and woke up feeling really pumped for it. I’m loving seeing the scale change and also my clothes fitting better already (only a couple kgs lighter!). I had a good weekend with some sensible eating and also a fair bit of exercise though not as much as the weekend before. Monday morning is one of those mornings I don’t usually make it to the gym as I prefer to ease myself into the working week but today was different. I felt so good that I jumped out of bed and went for a jog/walk (5.5km some walking, mostly jogging). I know right! This is not me ha ha ha.
It’s been a busy morning at work but mostly sitting at the desk doing orders so I’m glad I got out early for some body movement.
Lovely to read your posts and hope to see some more of them.
Take care all xx
Day 23 NE England NFD
What a wet and windy Sunday it is here. I had to sprint round on the dog walk to avoid the worst of the weather. I did well with eating yesterday and scale down today, so I’m pleased with that. I’ve got beef curry in the slow cooker for this evening, I will be keeping the carbs low! Busy week ahead, I will check in when I can. Last big push for a Fab Feb!

Weigh-in: 237 lbs. I’m hoping today will be a FD, but there’s a chance my family wants to picnic in the mountains today. So if it’s not a FD, it’ll be a later eating window. Despite being the same weight as last Sunday, I trended a lot lower last week.
@ccco Thanks! My mom also has cataracts, but her doctor said they’re not at the point yet where surgery is needed. In our area, we have a specialist who has gotten a little “surgery happy” and have left people with complications… So, we’re trusting this other practice where, like you, folks have had great experiences and listening to their counsel 🙂

Salutations! I hope everyone is well and making steady progress toward your goals! 😀
I began my current WF at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025. As of this writing, I have a little under 25 hours remaining until I break it at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2025. My fasts (for now) are electrolyte-water-only, lasting 42-hours, followed by a 6-hour eating window. The first cycle went well, and this is my second one in the current series.
@ccco – I wish you every success on your ADF journey! I hope (and expect) to lose 20 lbs by the end of March. That would leave me about 60 lbs (~27.2 kg) from my target weight of 170 lbs (~77.1 kg). My goal is to reach that by the end of the year, which is very doable. My primary motivating thoughts are that December 31, 2025, is coming—time marches on! On that day, will I be at my goal of 170 lbs, or it will represent another elapsed year of unchecked obesity where I thought a lot about making the necessary changes but never took action?
Over the years, I’ve read dozens of books from countless weight loss and health experts. I’ve watched thousands of their videos. All were excellent, but in the end, it’s up to us to take the daily steps to reach our goals. I’ve witnessed others lose far more weight than I need to lose. That’s very motivating! More importantly (for me), I’ve followed the correct steps and reached a healthy weight numerous times. One of my more recent sources of inspiration is from Dr. Frank O’Neill, D.C. He teaches health and nutrition courses. He ultimately lost 200 lbs (~90.7 kg) using ADF, a modified ADF, and the 5:2 Fast. That includes 165 lbs (~74.8 kg) that he lost in a year. He has a ton of videos on his YouTube channel that document his journey and he discusses many aspects and forms of IF. I rewatch those videos daily for motivation. Although the information is not new, it’s highly motivating to see people who successfully implement IF practices. You may find a source of strength in his videos as well.

@penz – Thank you for the kind welcome! I completely share your thoughts about “boredom eating”. Regarding my love of meteorology, it began when I was six. I was fascinated by all things “weather”, and I remain so to this day. In fact, it’s been my life-long profession since 1986, so it’s much more than a simple interest or hobby (not television meteorology, but research meteorology). I look forward to following your health journey! 😀
@lilymartin – As others have expressed, thank you for offering to host the March 2025 challenge. I’m looking forward to it!
To one and all, peace, good health, and great fasting (or healthy feasting)! 😀

Yesterday’s FD didn’t go completely as planned. My daughter’s stove stopped working when she was ready to make lunch, so alternate plans were necessary. I made a fairly good CD instead but I want to do a WFD to make up the difference.
FUNSHIPFREDDIE, I had the chance to ride an elephant, once at the U.S. Barnum and Bailey Circus and once in Thailand. They certainly are hughe!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Good morning everyone.. Happy Sunday Xxxx
It s a grey start here after the beautiful day yesterday… hopefully some sunshine later.
Ohh yesterday I was soo tired I could hear old Mum saying .. ” There is another day tomorrow Carol. ” lol
I never stopped for 6 hrs.. cleaning before walking .. then 1 1/2 hrs over the fields .. came back and cleaned the boot room top to bottom… never had lunch till 3.30
Anyway after afew days of 6-7 hr gap between breakfast and lunch then not wanting more than a few crispbreads later I think that is a good way to go for me My weight is good.
Nana .. how is your weekend going.
Dave… Oh what a very stressful time you are having.. What did the roofers say about that the roof was still leaking… When I had a leek in the roof tiles the guy poured water down after. to check it..
Poor Denise she must get down with not feeling well. Hard for you too i expect knowing what todo for the best.. hope she is feeling better soon.
H H Hope you are having a good weekend. Xx
Sym.. Did you have a wonderful time did you get some good colour with all the sunshine and being on board. Charlie will be ecstatic to see you and you him..
Enjoy your day everyone.. easy day here just a good wash and trim for Pip todo
May your Sunday be full of joy and happiness. Xxxx

Day 23 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
@lilymartin – thanks so much for offering to host the March Challenge 🙏
@jaifaim – I’m glad you liked the video. We did 8 of those zip-lines! Some of them only about 40 metres long, & some of them +140 metres. What a rush?! 🤯
@brightonbelle – I love Peter Kay! I don’t think I’ve seen the car-share episode though? 🤔
@ccco – the elephants were amazing. They really are gentle giants – most of the time. But they can turn nasty, especially if they think their young are under threat. Kind of like us 😅 https://imgur.com/a/Q5S83wx
@iona72 congrats on the lab results! There’s so much conflicting info about cholesterol. They say LDL is the one to watch, & maybe triglycerides too. But then they talk about the size of particles, & ratios, etc 🤔
Happy S🌞nday!
