Hello Finallyhere! I don’t know what myonineclassrp.wordpress.com/portfolio/nursing/ is but they are not part of this site. I would recommend trying the 5:2 group. We are about to start the March thread. Read our FabulousFebruary chain to see what we have to say. I have belonged to this group for a long time and they are good, kind, helpful people. Good luck with your challenge.
USA. Day 28. FD500
I succeeded at my FD500 and shut the kitchen down! I was very busy today, so that helped. Tomorrow I will be very busy, too, so I hope to try another FD500. Fasting is always easier, if you can keep busy and our minds off food.
Penz, you are so right. I am about to do the same thing, as I got my car insurance bill today
Excelsior12309,I am pleased to hear that your son in law has had a successful surgery. I am so glad that his tumor was successfully removed.
I can’t believe February is over already. I only lost 3 lbs. this month due to the fact that I went on a roller Coaster ride losing and gaining back some pounds. With Spring being near and gardening and golf on the horizon, I think I will be able to use that exercise to my benefit and as a distraction from food!
See you all in March!
Anzac, I enjoyed your humorous post despite the disappointing news on the work front. Food van in Queensland. Nudge, nudge. Off with those holiday kgs! Woot, good job.
I had a Friday FD this week due to an invitation to dinner at friends’ place tonight and lunch out with other friends tomorrow. I’d have rather done the FD on Monday but feared more social events might arise and I’d miss the opportunity. 59.3kgs.
Several of our male friends have put on quite a bit of weight since we last saw them 5 years ago. I’ve been walking with my former walking buddy in Kings Park. She always struggled with her weight but is now very heavy and has a lot of knee pain. It feels good to be bucking the trend as we age.
Yes, what has happened to LJ?
Day 28 – USA – WFD
Greetings, everyone! I’ve enjoyed reading through all of your posts today. I am electrolyte-water-fasting today. To help myself stay occupied, I finished an exterior home maintenance project, which was fun.
@penz – The pizza sounds great! I hope your review of your insurance produced the outcome you hoped for.
@funshipfreddie – I enjoyed your humor about PFDS! Congrats on a loss for February! Also, thank you for your words of support!
@jaifaim – Thank you for the welcome! I read about your recent loss, and you have my sincere condolences. I hope you enjoyed your bike ride!
@brightonbelle – Congratulations on your loss for the month! Thank you for setting up the Fab Feb 25 Challenge! It was great!
@excelsior12309 – I hope your son-in-law makes a full recovery! I’m looking forward to the March journey with you and everyone!
@northgeorgia – Regarding looking ahead to March, I’m with you! Spring is knocking on the door with oppotrunities for incredible fasts!
@stitchincarol – I enjoyed your post today and related to the thoughts you shared. You wrote: “…the biggest reason I struggle with NFDs so much is that I simply forget I care.” I love the way you phrased that—I also experience the same. Wishing you much success toward your March goals!
@at – Congrats on your 5th B2B FD800 today! I wish you every success on your stated weight loss goals!
@ccco – I’m sending you positive thoughts for your journey! I hope you’re having a great FD500!
I’m really looking forward to March and the fasting challenge with the group! You’re all in my ‘Pocket List,’ whether fasting, healthy eating, or otherwise! 😀
Cheers,
Joseph
Good evening I’m starving so had some fruit. Hope Charlie’s ok now, it breaks my heart when an animal is not well especially a dog. I’ll take Chloe out at 10pm for the last walk. Never did this with the other dogs but Chloe won’t go out the back so I have to take her out. Don’t really like going out at that time you never know who is hanging about and while Heidi would have protected me Chloe would run away.
Evening!
Jean- hope Charlie is okay, poor boy, good job you had Faye with you.
Dave- glad you’re feeling better. Hubby likes steak & kidney pie, but didn’t put any in this time as son’s not so keen, so you would’ve been okay with it!
Hemmy- you’ve had a busy week, well done with your weight & the no alcohol!
Forgot to post yesterday…had a nice catch up with my sister, today we’ve been out to Lavenham again, such a pretty town! Stopped at a café but just had a coffee, the cakes looked amazing but resisted 😇 Did stay the same this week though.
Have a good weekend!
Hemmy have you tried the butter beans yet? I had them tonight😋. It’s been a beautiful day today suns been out and not too cold. Went to the AGM of the bowling club. Got to go back next week to pay the subs.I missed the AGM at my other club so will have to pay that as well.My shadow is on the sofa with me as usual. I like it though.
@lilymartin – if for some reason you are unable to set up the March Challenge I would be happy to step in and get it going…….let us know….
I hope all is good with you as we haven’t heard from you for this past week…….

Day 28 – UK – FD800
On my 5th B2B FD800 today!!!!
Could not resist to get out for a brisk 6miles wander this morning – Beautiful spring day here, sunshine, blue skies, daffodils and crocuses starting to show themselves does brighten up the soul and makes you feel instantly better about everything 🤗
I am starting to feel the benefits of these B2B FD800s – my jeans that were uncomfortable to do up and sit down in last week are definitely feeling more comfortable, so I suspect I’m back sitting around that 64kg mark, will weigh tomorrow to confirm – I definitely want to get back to 60kg where I feel at my best!!
Lent starting next week on 5th March, Ash Wednesday, and ending on Thursday 17th April seem to have come at the right time to help me stay on the fasting bandwagon and regain that focus 💪
Looking forward to committing to the March Challenge with @lilymartin – Spreadsheet is done and ready to post
@funshipfreddie – thank you for starting the pocket list and the encouragement

Day 28 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 157.6
Not my proudest and most exciting weight (and it’s up 1.5 pounds from the beginning of Fab Feb), but I managed to behave enough not to land in the 160s for more than one very terrifying morning. I’m realizing the biggest reason I struggle with NFDs so much is that I simply forget I care. Instead, I’m focused on what is going on around me, and my weight doesn’t even occur to me as I make choices.
Another frustration is that I feel SO much better on my WFDs since I’m not over eating, and not indulging in bloaty and unhealthy food choices, and yet when I consider eating those foods on NFDs, I eat away, and can’t persuade myself I care enough not to eat them, even knowing how I’ll end up feeling later.
So, those are my challenges for March, and I will be back to work on succeeding to lose the twenty pounds I prefer to live without.
I have an early meeting tomorrow that’s 50 minutes away, so I’m unlikely to post in the morning, but I’m back fulltime. Thanks, @brightonbelle, for leading us through Fab Feb and for stretching yourself to chatter more than is your wont, and thanks @lilymartin for guiding us through March; I’m assuming you’ll soon gasp to realize we are at March already and will create it then, right? 😉😂😂💞👍 And if not, we can keep posting here in Fab Feb until it’s available.
Have a grand one!
Afternoon All..
I had a bit of a planned day… but.. I walked Charlie across the fields and on my way back I met Fay stopped for a chat, we realised Charlie was having a seizure, if lasted 2 mins, I was going to walk and get the car while Fay stayed with him but he got up to come with me, very wobbly and we both walked him home. He’s been asleep for 3 hours, a look up and back to sleep, he seems to be waking again…
Still I have hot on with jobs, cleaning and paper work. I can’t believe it’s nearly 3 now.
Thinking of going to the chippy, he can come with me.
Dave..
Glad you are feeling a little better better… I shall work the dentist fee out and see how it compares.. I am getting to an age were I might need more dentistry. A bit late to cancel now.. I will see.
Enjoy your meal.

Weigh-in: 234 lbs. I’ve averaged about the same as last month, maybe a smidge lower… Looking ahead to March. Got a lot of interruptions, including a 3-day work conference starting Monday, and a week or so of vacation towards the end of the month.
Day 28-No. VA USA-FD800
Thank you all for your thoughts on my son in law and his surgery. He did well. It took 4 hours and he has a very long incision from under the breastbone around to the back of his hip bone. But they were able to remove the tumor intact. So now he is rambling around the hospital with his IV pole and bladder catheter, etc, etc. So doing OK!
Looking forward to a good re-set for March. Thank you, @brightonbelle for handling February, and @lilymartin for guiding us through March. See you all tomorrow!
Day 28 UK CD
Down 2lbs this month , which might not be much but I’m happy with it and feel I’m in a steady place , I’ll need to try and show some restraint as meeting up for drinks later but I really don’t want to see that hard earned loss disappear overnight
Happy to hand over to @lilymartin and see you all in March 👋

Hello all, checking in on this last day of my favourite month of the year. 🌼
I have not got to read posts recently but hope everyone is well and welcome to @icystorm who I see joined us this month.
Thank you all so much for the support and care these past few weeks. I’m very sad but just taking each day as it comes and there is no doubt that is a huge hole left in our lives. I’m in no rush to fill that but routine and keeping busy are key for me so will see you tomorrow for our March challenge – thank you @lilymartin and @brightonbelle thank you for looking after us in February. It is still fab ☀️🌼☀️.
Off out on my bike to clear my head. It’s a beautiful day ☀️

Friday morning PFDS! Yesterday’s FD was surprisingly easy, despite the fact that it was my 3rd one in 5 days. ⬇0.2 kg for the month, I’ll take it!
@penz – good luck with the insurance, hope you find some good deals. I saved about 30% on my car insurance when I switched last year.
@iona72 – enjoy your weekend in bonny Scotland 🏴
@icystorm – losing 18 lb in a month is a tall order, but it’s achievable. We’re all rooting for you! 🎯
@brightonbelle – thank you for guiding us through Fab February 💐

Sorting our health and car insurance today. Sigh. I know it pays to shop around but it can be such a painful exercise and not always easy to compare apples with apples.
Thank you for shepherding us through February @brightonbelle and looking forward to seeing you all in March.
Hi friends
Thanks for the good wishes but the interview (and job) was cancelled late Wednesday afternoon. Apparently the business pushed back on the project team about hiring any more resources. Poor Mr A came home from grocery shopping to find me having a total blubbery meltdown on the couch with Maxx sitting on my feet looking very anxious
But new light at the end of the tunnel, yesterday the only other BA on the project rang to say they are pushing back as they simply cannot meet the deadlines without more resources. We had a Teams chat and she was so lovely and positive and said she is going to push hard before I find something else (ha) as ‘good people are hard to find, even in a tough market’. So that was really lovely to hear and I have regained my positivity. Sort of
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad Turn, and it must be so hard being on the other side of the world. I hope his hip surgery goes well and he is back to feeling better again soon. Good luck with the house build too
Given the tough market with so many unemployed Macaque castrationers (new word), I’m not surprised your DD could not get a look-in for the volunteer job Thin. Seriously though, what a joke. I wish them luck
A calendar reminder just popped up to say it is LJ’s birthday. If that is correct Happy Birthday LJ if you are reading
Haha Cinque, I now have a vision of randy Macaques wandering the streets of Bhutan 🙂
I am down from a high of 96.1 post holiday to 93 so chip chip chipping away. I want to get back into the 80’s asap so will grit my teeth (so that I can’t get food through them) and get there
take care all
Day 27 – USA – NFD
Greetings, fasters! 😀
I officially have 18 lbs (~8.2 kg) to lose to reach my short-term goal of 233 lbs (~105.7 kg) by the end of March. I know I can do this, and will do this! 😀
@funshipfreddie – Many thanks for the encouragement, helpful hints, and the tips about the spreadsheet. Sound advice! 😀
I’m sending everyone thoughts of peace, resolve, good health, and happiness! I hope you enjoy your day or night in your corner of the world!

I just pay when I go to the dentist Jean. Sounds very expensive what you pay. I’ll leave the decorating until I’m 100% I keep forgetting to take my tablets since I was ill. Midi start taking them again but won’t take the co-codamol.Managed ok without them. Scrambled eggs bacon and tomatoes for tea. Chloe as just had all her food, very early for her it’s usually 10pm. She had a tin of sardines in her kibble. Will give her some more later tonight.

Weigh-in: 237 lbs. I’m going to try to eat (if I eat) my 500 calories upon arriving home and before 6 p.m. if possible. I really need to get my GERD under control. I think I’ve figured it out as the silent cause of my long-term ailments (constant dry throat, wheezing, cough, croup, and sudden returning congestion and asthma attacks). Good morning I am getting back to feeling better. My son as gone in work today said he feels better. Just been out with Chloe in the sunshine, only 3°C but felt warmer. Not ready to decorate yet maybe next week. I still feel a little tired but did go bowling yesterday and slept better thanks to the fresh air.
@annette52 We are away in Scotland for the end of Feb/start of March so eating out and a few drinks will be involved but I’m determined to make progress before Easter. Lets get it done!!
Day 27 NE England mindful
We have a few child free days as its half term holidays. We had a day out in York with a group of friends, had great fun including a lightshow on the walls of the Minster. Eating and drinking was involved but I tried to be restrained. Tomorrow we are going to Scotland with my sister and B in L for the weekend. Not ideal for ending one month and starting another, especially as we have gift vouchers for a very nice restaurant in Edinburgh!
@jaifaim good to hear from you, hope you are not finding all the formalities too stressful.

Already it s a beautiful day .. and now looks like a run of double figure dry sunny days.. thank goodness.

Day 38 No Alc and its definitely made a big difference to my weight .. I am now back to my pre Christmas weight and sweet cravings all gone.

Tomorrow out with Pam to Strafford upon Avon .. so a busy week out for me lol.. Next Wed Dental check. ( I always follow you Sym) lol
Nana .. How is the week going for you.
Dave.. How are you and your son today..
H H .. You are doing well this week with Keto hopefully a good result tomorrow .
Sym I have an electric throw . I just use it without plugging in.. I would be worried about the house getting damp without heating on low. Roll on spring and warmer weather to have a break from it all. Oh but not too hot for the dogs lol
Enjoy your day everyone ..“Believe in yourself .. you are important too.Xxxx

Day 27 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
@brightonbelle – the chocolate ice cream has been dispatched. To a neighbour’s freezer 😅
@icystorm – you WILL adapt. Your body will, anyway. The tricky part is getting your mind to co-operate. I think we all struggle with the NFDs more than the FDs. I try to plan ahead what I’ll eat (& when) every day, including NFDs. And I usually only buy ‘risky’ treats in the smallest quantities. Have you checked out the spreadsheet yet? Only a few of us use it, but I find it helps to keep me on my toes. You can add yourself to it, or ask someone else to add your name.
@excelsior12309 – what a stressful time for your family? I hope everything goes smoothly for your son-in-law’s surgery today 🙏
@at – a 1.5 yoga class sounds quite challenging! I’ve normally had enough after about 40 minutes 🥴

Cinque, I’m sorry I missed the post about your legs. But glad they are OK now.
Macaques, well it will be a population control initiative, either numbers out of control or spreading disease or similar. Clearly, the charity isn’t run by vets or they’d understand that a vet’s training enables them to apply their knowledge and experience of one species to problem-solve complex issues with another. And that’s one reason vets volunteer – to gain that experience. I expect they hire a team of locals to catch the macaques. That’s what happened when DD was volunteering with a UK vet charity to help eradicate rabies in India. Here’s a fun video she made of it if you have 90 seconds to spare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSaHtlBUDLM
Turn, what a treat to hear from you. Sorry to read about your dad. Tricky when you’re so far away. That tiny house is so cool. I wish I could see inside although, since your previous post on the topic, I have looked at many of them. Tesla have some very innovative solutions to transport, delivery, set-up and so on. They’re like flat packs being opened up and assembled.
Sorry, all a bit off topic, eh?
Thought I had better show my face after stalking you all for so long.
Lovely to hear all your news, and I’m so glad I’m not the only one not managing to lose any weight at present. I’m not sure my head is really in the correct space at the moment, my father is back in hospital in the UK, and after finally getting a diagnosis from the Drs. of a cancerous tumor entering the kidney, enduring lots of intravenous medication/antibiotics and a blood transfusion, he has at last regained his appetite, his humour and some of his strength. Enough for him to be sitting in the chair when my mother visited him yesterday, the first time since she can’t remember when! Only to have a fall getting back into bed and now he is booked in for surgery tomorrow to pin his hip! Bugger. He’s feeling very sorry for himself, I think his pride is more damaged than anything else.
Our house build has been put back a month due to a few minor tweaks with the architect and engineer reports, but the first timbers went up yesterday, yay! We have signed off on the final kitchen plans and they have a three week lead time, so as we are away from house-sitting again through May, we won’t be having it shifted on to the site until we return in June. It seems such a long time away but I know how quickly that time will fly by. We are currently back in Christchurch sitting our friends’ house, dogs, cat, goldfish, chickens, sheep and cows! At least we have free rein of the orchard apples and pears, so like you Neil I shall be busy with those next week.
Hopefully I’ll get through our busy social events over the next three /four days and start concentrating a bit harder on getting my weight down again. I’ve only put on a couple of kilos, but it’s just so easy for them to grow into more?!
I have added a picture of the latest house to be delivered on site, it’s the same shape and size as ours but ours will be a slighter different color steel and wood.
https://imgur.com/a/kdA9NUU
Speak again soon, keep well everyone, Turn.
Good morning everyone from me and my delicious coffee.
Thin, oh dear, op shops can make it hard to donate.
Hooray for fitting in fast days between social events. And for keeping your healthy weight as a priority. So key.
My mind is boggling at DD’s lack of macaque castration expertise for that volunteer job. Partly wondering what was so particular about castrating macaques, but also… do they really have 6 months work of castrating macaques??? How does that work? Do randy macaques wander streets causing trouble there?
Anyway, I really really hope you are more successful in your job application/interview Anzac. I am lighting a candle to keep my good wishes flowing to you. You are so right that it is personal connections that get you the jobs that fit best and more likely to get when someone you know is involved somewhere along the line.
My legs are fine now thankyou!
Gday, what on earth happened to your posts? I really hope you don’t give up. Maybe copy and paste for a few times and then hopefully everything will behave properly again? Lots of good wishes anyway.
Quacka, so lovely to see you working hard and successfully. So lovely to end the summer healthier and fitter and looking particularly gorgeous, and comfortable, in your clothes.
Neil, I hope it was hayfever and just a brief attack, or that you have some good meds. Ooh yum those pears and plums!
I bet that kilo blip will be a quick one. Hooray for avoiding those extra carbs, you are surely on track.
Hello Lindsay, Cali, LJoyce, Turn and anyone else reading. I’m off to light that candle. Cheers all.
Quacka, it’s so highly motivating to see the weight falling away. Well done. Thanks for your kind words. I will never forget how all consuming and depressing it was to be overweight and that’s what keeps me motivated never to return to those days.
Anzac, I hope that interview went well. Of course it did. Who wouldn’t want you? We had a laugh yesterday. DD had applied for a volunteer job in Bhutan with a charity castrating macaques. She has plenty of castration experience, a wildlife background and experience volunteering in a vet capacity in Africa, India and NW Australia. The charity did at least have the decency to reply but specified that applicants must have experience in castrating macaques! Good luck with that. Amusing that they want a vet to work for several months with no pay, airfares, or any help whatsoever, operate in very challenging conditions, yet think they’ll find one with experience castrating a specific breed of monkey!

Day 26 – UK – FD800
Busy day starting with a 1.5hr yoga class this morning followed by coffee with some of the group and then my regular Wednesday afternoon volunteering at a group for the elderly in my community.
Made a vegetarian frittata for our evening meal (using all the leftover vegetables in my fridge) keeping my portion small, OH had a double portion accompanied by a rocket, red pepper, tomato and avocado salad – he also has some leftover apple and blackberry crumble for afters. MFP tells me I will be well within my 800 cals so a successful 3rd B2B FD800
@funshipfreddie – thank you for adding me to the pocket list this morning – kept me motivated all day
2 more days left on this Fab Feb 25 Challenge ☄️ = 2 more FD800 for me – I can do this 💪
Evening All…
Up early to walk Charlie. Then to Scunthorpe and a long wait to have my car serviced, I was gone 4 1/2 hours a bit long for the boy. Everything was fine.
Tomorrow to dentist checkup and hygienist, if seems to come round quick… hoping she doesn’t try and do X-rays I was gagging last time! I really don’t know why they do it when everything is fine!
Hillary’s blind are measuring Saturday for blinds in my bathroom then it’s finished.
Hemmy..
A lovely day at the garden centre. I always find it hard to eat a lot at lunchtime when out. It sounds tasty.
I love my electric throw so cosy, I never have my heating on in the evening..
Hedgehog..
A very busy day for you. I like my extender lead, very handy for him to wander and under control in no off lead areas. He walks nice on it as he hears the click and knows he has to stay close.
Dave..
I am with you on no kidney… Steve loved his pies, must be a Lancashire thing…he used to buy them hot and put in a bread cake and squash it, I couldn’t understand that. 😂
Hope you and son pick up soon.

Day 26 – USA – NFD
Greetings, everyone! I hope you’re all well and having a great day or night in your corner of the world!
Today is an NFD for me. So far, weight loss has been slower than expected. My weekly weight-in is tomorrow. So far, I have only lost 3 lbs. I was actually down 6 pounds after my Day 1 fast last week, but recovered three of those pounds afterward. The culprit? I’m eating too much during my NFD eating windows. Plus, my cortisol levels are currently high. I had been a very carefree eater for years, enjoying food, and now I’m in a rigid, restrictive mindset, so naturally it’s stressful as everyone knows and experiences. It is so important to me to return to a healthy weight and BMI, so I’m determined to overcome the stress associated with food denial.
If I hope to lose 20 lbs by the end of March, I’ll need to do much better in the week ahead. The good news is that as I become more accustomed to the fasting pattern, I will adapt. Although I’m consuming too much protein during my eating windows, I’ve radically reduced my sugar and carb intake over the past week—a major change for me.
@funshipfreddie — It’s great that you enjoyed the video! It’s inspirational, as are all of you good people here in the forum! It’s nice to be on the health journey with everyone here and read about your successes!
Best to all!
Kind regards,
Joseph
HH I’ll have some pie so long as they’re is no kidney in it. My stomach was off again today so scrambled eggs for tea tonight. My son came home from work not feeling well. I might go and have it now my Chuckies.

Think I forgot to post yesterday, we had a nice lunch out, keto for me, rang my HS family, did some cleaning before we went…had a nice walk with Xena, don’t really like extending dog leads, but bought one for Xena so she can run a bit looser near the river but not totally off lead in case she goes right in! It worked well … Did our shopping, making a steak pie for hubby & youngest son tonight, shall I make extra for you Dave?!

Glad you like f800s too @excelsior12309 , I too am fairly alarmed how few calories mean weight gain , but hey I guess that’s just the way it is – hope all goes smoothly at the hospital

Day 26 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 237 lbs. I’m planning on making tomorrow a FD.
Annastama – that’s really up to you. If you’re following traditional 5:2, then that’s two days per week of 500 – 600 cals, and 5 days of normal eating. You’ve completed a fast day, yesterday. So as of this morning, if you’re not fasting then you could resume your normal eating routine. Unless you’re doing ‘back-to-back’ fast days. Everything depends on your personal goals and abilities. But if you’re new to fasting,I would ease into it & spread out your fast days..
Day 26-No. VA USA-FD800
Well, yesterday’s FD became more of a FD. 800, but that is ok. I do not find them hard to do. I am of the opinion that for someone of my ag (74), the calculated TDEE is rather too high, so instead of 1600 something calories, I cannot exceed about 1300 before I start to gain weight. Maybe if I were very active (Looking at you, @merryapple, for example, the higher calorie TDEE would be accurate.) So, at any rate, 800 calories is quite do-able.
My son-in-law with the very rare adrenal tumor has his surgery today. I am hoping it goes well, of course. It is such a rare type that there are not very many surgeons who have dealt with lots of these. The recovery is likely to be long, due to the very large incision, etc. My step-daughter is quite nervous; they have both been very healthy people and have no experience of hospitals, surgeries, etc (except for two days for babies being delivered, years ago!). She wanted to know if she should stay over at the hospital and I said, yes, absolutely; even in the best facilities, a patient needs an advocate all the time. At least for the first few days!
Good fasting, everyone!
I think I may have introduced myself already but I have a question.
I had lunch at 2pm yesterday and nothing to eat since then it is now 5pm so over 24 hours. My question is, should I eat dinner tonight, or wait until tomorrow?
Help please.
