Trying again

  • Hi – I’m giving 5:2 another go and today is my first day.

    I first tried the plan at the beginning of the year but as I didn’t lose I became disenchanted with it. I’m a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump and whilst on a fast day I just adjust my insulin accordingly and surprisingly, my blood sugars were good. However, I think that I was ‘feasting’ too much on the non-fast days and eating too many carbs where normally I limit my carb intake so I don’t have to give huge doses of insulin which in turn makes me fat

    Good luck on your second go. I have thyroxine problems but find if I eat 3 meals on fast days I do fine. Eggs for breakfast, homemade soup for lunch (just 24 cals) and grilled fish and veg for dinner. 14 weeks 20 lbs lost but I’m in this for the long haul. Hope it goes well this time. I find its a journey not a sprint. Beavergong
