  • Day 10 : FD : Cheshire, UK

@rocy65 thank you for the big hugs.

All is not lost as we are meeting up tomorrow. I love the warmth and support of this group. Thank you!

    Day 10
    UK
    NFD

    Today’s weight 142.4lb (64.5kg)

Gone up a teensy bit, but not bothered! Out on the road again this weeks, so fingers crossed!

    Australia, Day 10, NFD

Brekky and lunch eaten, the kitchen is closed from lunchtime today.

Hope everyone has kicked of the week on a positive note. VP

    Australia Day 10 FD

Have been awesome with my water today. Over 3 litres so far and haven’t water fasted but had a small dinner of 250 cals. Hopefully this will have an effect!
Bajlish we can do it! Good luck with your 4:3 this week. I hope it helps! I am contemplating the same or at least a very low third day.
    Good luck everyone.

Day 9: Pacific NW USA, (for real, because I’m back home), NFD today

Glad that trip is over, too late to read but glad you are all still here where I left you! FD tomorrow. May try a 48 hour fast to clean out the system after all that slightly less than adequate travel food. Also, came home and put on favorite cozy sweats to find out they are so baggie the string tie won’t cinch the waist band tight enough. I’m wearing them anyway but I guess they will be headed to the donate bag soon and I will need to find a new cozy pair!

UK day 10 FD today and the first for me in this challenge, aiming to stay on liquids , hopefully just water til an early dinner of fish and green veg Had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning hoping I can get back to my starting weight by next week then I’ll be on a good position to have a good couple of weeks at the end of the month. Good luck all

NZ, Day 10, NFD (was meant to be FD!!)
After doing so well thinking I had limited my weekend eating to just Sat/Sun by doing weigh in on Sat mornings, today I’ve extended at the other end – Monday is normally my fast day, but things went downhill after work/school pick up.

Not enough water today. Tomorrow will be FD!!

Good Morning All, USA, Missouri Ozarks, Day 10, Fast Day

Glad to be back on Fast day, ate too much over the weekend. Nothing really “bad” just too much in general as I feel much better on fast days. Plan to fast M, Tu, Wednesday.

Watching the morning debate recap on the news and drinking hot lemon water, about to get ready for work. Wishing you all a great day.

    GoldenSun, wishing you well.

Surrey UK Day 10 Good FD yesterday, checking in for today.

    Day 10- Essex uk.

FD today. Glad too actually. I did not over indulge during the weekend but I feel big & bloated. A FD should help. I have been pondering how posts on here say how some like FD I couldn’t understand it. Something has clicked because I’m feeling it now!

@clarkey24 Barbados!!! I’m bajlish. Bajan/English…! I’m 100% English but I’ve been going to bdos for so many years it’s where I’d prefer to be. My best friend of 11 years is bajan, all of my God children are bajan!

5:2 is a good plan. This forum is wonderfully supportive & what I enjoy most is the multi national tone it has. It’s superb.

    Happy Monday x

    Texas, Day 10 Fasting.

Day 10 US NFD. Trying to keep focused on real hunger versus just eating because food is yummy!

    London Day 10

Hope everyone had a good weekend. My exercise regime has been a bit hit and miss as I still have this bug. I am going to swim tomorrow as maybe the chlorine will kill it off!! 🙂

FD for me today – prawn stir fry for dinner.

Have a good day one and all

    Day 10 USA (Illinois)

NFD – managed my FD of yesterday pretty well. I love sardines, have ever since I was a girl going to Swedish smorgasbords. I had a can of them with a few crackers and small salad for supper.

Our local Children’s Museum is having a 5 day long event that is keeping me busy, so hopefully I will still be able to read posts.

Bajish – we had a beautiful week in Barbados back in 2003 to see the last Concorde’s flight there – just love the Caribbean, all the islands.

    Onward and downward, everyone!

    Day 10|FD|Buckinghamshire UK

FD going well so far but have a long day ahead with an eye test booked and going with a friend from work to mindful yoga for the first time. Wondering how I will be feeling if I don’t eat at my usual time, I don’t want my tummy rumbling in a quiet yoga class.

@clarkey24 and @bajlish I was born in UK and my family are from the neighbouring island. I’ve been to Barbados a few time…

    Dubai
    Day 10
    NFD
    Weight 61.7kg
No weight loss since last fast day in fact I have gained 0.1kg.
Oh well onwards and upwards or should that be downwards.

Day 10 Fla USA. FD We were invited to friends last night for a wonderful Italian dinner. I was very careful with what I ate and came away feeling good . Today is a fast day and I am very much looking forward to the fact that I just feel healthier the day after a fast. The fasting does not slow me down – I get through the day – if anything I don’t have to worry about what I’m going to eat next. Again I am extremely aware about my water coffee and tea intake. I seem to be extremely prone to getting dehydrated and other than that it’s a great day and the day after is even better especially when I get on the scale first thing in the
morning. Stay strong have a great day

Day 10 South Florida USA, FD
First, big hugs GoldenSun – I know it’s incredibly difficult but this is one of the times when you have to put yourself first! I agree with the Wearing Silk statements… stay strong and work on you.
Saltysearbird – Great job with the cake – that is double tough to work with confections and stay on the straight and narrow.
Ciren2 – awesome that you’ve hit Goal and maintained!
There was someone else that made their goal but I couldn’t find the post – so an all around FABULOUS for those that did!
Patti67 and Brightonbelle – happy belated!
As for me – I already know that I am an emotional eater – the bad part about being an emo eater is that I don’t just feed when I’m sad… I also over do it when I’m happy – was happy about the hurricane not causing too much damage and happy about the new beach place… so I did walk 3 miles on the beach yesterday, but I also drank wine.. and that led to cheese and crackers… and then had a couple of small pieces of pizza for dinner – with another glass of wine. – I was down 4 lbs last Wednesday but back up this morning. I am going to do a FD today and do an official weigh in tomorrow when I feel less bloated from the ‘celebrating’.
Today I am back on the straight and narrow. 21 day fix Lower Fix – 30 minutes this morning.
I have made a Shiritake Chicken Noodle soup this morning. Total for everything in it is 480 cals – I will have a little for lunch and then that will be my dinner. This will be a successful FD.
    Have a Fabulous Day everyone!!!

Hi everyone UK day 10 nfd but turning into a fast day or a low day.

I used to do Monday as my fast day but on Tuesday I am out all day not returning until 9pm so may think of doing Tuesday as my fast day instead of Monday and just keep that as a low day. Will see how it pans out.

Lany36 if you click on anyone’s name it will bring you to their profile. If they have one and you can also see their replies or threads they have started. The tracker is personal. Hope that helps.

Zelle – are you unable to post everyday?

Clarkey24 – welcome – sounds like you have something in common with a few members already. Barbados – what an image it conjures up – blue skies, white sands (sigh).

Grammaspice – we all do it don’t we – we eat with our eyes rather than out bellys!

Fuvvie – I think you also speak from the heart as your advice is also given with much thought. With others from around the world who have joined us and stuck with us – I think we all make a pretty good team. Helping and encouraging each other along the way in our journey. Be it feeling out of control or finding a good book or recipe to share. Amazing!

Goldensun – good luck for tomorrow, hope it all works out for the best.

Day 10. Wisconsin, USA. NFD. Darn! I didn’t update on the weekend. I am very sorry. I am getting better at staying on track on the weekends. The elimination of sugar and grains from my diet truly does decrease hunger. Although, I will admit it is a lot of work, as the meals I eat must be “prepared”. And, sometimes it seems like there just isn’t anything for me to eat, which does not hurt my weight loss. 🙂

Day 10: Gloucestershire, Cotswolds, UK: Oh Dear.
It WAS a fast day….but I came home from work, starving, and….succumbed.
    What can I say….?

    Cornwall Day 10 FD

Just put veggies in the oven to steam for tea. I am still surprised that I am feeling so well on this plan.
    Will weigh in tomorrow.
    Joy

Day 10, chilly Adirondack. NFD. 119.9

I have managed to stay steady despite the onslaught of ice cream, pie and chips.

    Sussex UK Day 10 FD
    O&D
    SSB

    UK Nottingham- Day 10 FD

Changed days this week to Monday and Wednesday instead of Tuesday and Thursday, see if that makes a difference. I’ve not been on the scales today, don’t want to get too disheartened.

    Day 10 Sussex U.K.
    FD.
Good weekend and planned day on the ‘lose it’ site.
    Feeling positive.

    Georgia/USA/Day 10 FD:

I had an awesome time in California this weekend visiting my bestie. Catching up and hanging out was nice. I ate what I wanted and tried to do it in moderation at the same time. Glad I was there on my NFD’s. Now I’m headed back to work tomorrow. Worked out this afternoon and snacked on pickles. Going to relax the rest of the day. Debating about what I’m going to spend my calories on today. LOL. Good day to all!

    USA Day 10 FD
3:30 yesterday afternoon to 3:30 today will be 500 calories or under. I hope that counts as a fast day. At least it’s 24 hours. Work schedule requires some creative planning to get in the fast days. Tuesday sunset to Wednesday sunset will be a full zero calorie fast. Hope to see a drop at next weigh in this Sunday. I know 7’s are considered a lucky number by many, but I look forward to the day I don’t see a 7 as the second number on my scale! Visualizing a 169 on that scale for next weigh in.
O & D to all the 5:2 team! Love you all. Feels like I have a new family.

    Day 10 Cornwal UK.

Goldensun – hope all goes well. As others have said and I know from many emotional times, please try not to comfort eat. Healthy food is your friend. You’re doing this wol for YOU.

A successful fast day today. Didn’t sleep too well, my throat sore and dry! But today I was determined to not ‘feed a cold’!
So kept busy went to Dr for a checkup and she was very pleased with weight loss and now healthy BMI.
Then picked up MIL (90 in 10 days time) from her care home and took her shopping for slippers and a new skirt. She was in good form and looking forward to her birthday lunch with all the family. After taking her back OH suggested we go for a bike ride so a 6 mile circuit. Chicken and salad for supper.

    O&D x

    Calgary, Canada. Day 10 FD
decided to forgo breakfast as I want all my calories for supper tonight, it is Thanksgiving here and I want a nice dinner to celebrate. Made sweet potato, red lentil, and kale soup and boy am I looking forward to that…
Buying a new scale this afternoon as my weight still hasn’t done anything and I simply cannot lose over 5 inches and not see something… my muscle building exercise consists of one boot camp a week using 3lb weights… so its the scale and I am very excited to pick one up. I am treating myself to a smart weight that tracks weight, BMI, Fat%, Water% along with some other neat measurements.
Good luck to all… I am off to do my 10 min HIT

Australia Day 11 NFD one hour left of a 36-hour, liquid only fast day. I was so busy there was not time to be hungry. I made a pork bone broth and tried to have a cup of that for dinner but just don’t like it. I’ll have to save it for gravies and risottos. Well done to those who have reached their target weights. I am so jealous! 🙂

Extra post – I also meant to say thank you to all who have been so supportive of me during my struggles. I really feel that I have turned a corner mentally re my own health and feel again that I can do this. Thank you, you make this possible. Hugs!

Sunshine Coast Day 11 FD: Good morning everyone. Glorious day here with the Sunshine Coast living up to its name. We could do with a lot of rain though.
I’m looking at the spreadsheet and there are a few gaps, and I wonder if I was so absorbed in reading that I forgot to fill in FD or NFD, or are some feeling that an everyday commitment is too much for them. When I am feeling low, I think it is a hassle, but then it does push me to keep thinking about what I am doing and why I am here. Choir practice went well in spite of the laryngitis and cough. I think all the solo /group acts will be in there at the concert. There’s a lot of talent around and it is lovely to have a way of expressing oneself and creating a bit of joy along the way. Everyone left the hall last night with a smile on their face and lots of happy chatter. I invited friends who had driven me there in for a drink and they accepted. So went to bed after a red wine, wasabi cheese and 5 olives marinated in garlic and chill. Best night”s sleep this week😉🎼🍷

The posts sound more upbeat which is great.

Great news about your favourite and cozy sweats B2tF. What a feeling. Time to get MIL ready for physio. The washing is on, and must get a move on. Have a lovely day everyone. Will catch up this evening.

    Perth, Australia, Day11, NFD

FD yesterday went really well. Only calories consumed were from the dashes of milk in my two coffees and two pieces of chewing gum. No running to the chocolate box from stress.

When I got home, I went for a brisk walk along the beach. There was a newcomer to the stretch of sand that I usually visit, a seal. I’ve lived here for many years and that is the first one I’ve seen actually on the beach.

Very happy to report that I weighed in this morning at 89.2kg. Back in the 80’s 😊 It’s been a few months since I was here last. As it is post fast day I’m aware that it will likely rise again before it drops but I’m very happy. This represents 3.3kg down since the beginning of the challenge and 3.6kg since I started on 5:2 just 13 days ago.

Clarkey24, thank you for the heads up re cinnamon tea as a method for curbing sweet cravings. I’ll see if I can get some when I next go to the shops.

    Have a great day all!

    Australia, day 11, nonFD

    Day 11
    FD
    Australia, NSW

babygirl – well done!! 3.3kg in such a short time…I would love to do that!!

Yesterday was supposed to be a fast day but I was really tired and succumbed to a glass of wine (or 2 ) at the end of the day along with a homemade pie my neighbour had made. I had only had an apple all day until then so that was a pity I never made it a proper fast day. Any way …. I am fasting today. Measurements down since last week so very happy with that. Cheers

Day 10 – E. Canada. FD. Not gonna make it. Again.

It started off well. I went for a caffe latte at 4 p.m which was fine. No exercise today though – my fitness facility is closed (holiday) and I can’t bike – a storm is lashing through, we’ve had more rain in the last 24 hours than in the last several weeks.

But I bought a cookie ‘for Thanksgiving’ – well, at least I didn’t eat the whole thing but shared it with spouse. And then I had supper, even if a modest one, when I should have skipped it. I went over by 400 calories. And I’m at 134 pounds. I’m not going to make my 6 pounds for the month at this rate. Either I want to do this, or I don’t – which is it?

I’ve been reading the other posts and I think, I have to see this through, or I’m not helping either myself or anyone else.

    USA (Minnesota) Day 10 NFD
Still not caught up on posts. Maybe tomorrow. Best wishes to everyone.

    Day 11 NZ NFD

Been pretty good so far, omelette for brekkie and salad for lunch.
Lost track a tiny bit and had some peanut butter and Nutella straight from the jar!
In pre 5:2 days it would have been significantly more and I’m still under TDEE planning a vegetarian stirfry for dinner.
I’m still feeling good that I can easily stick to a FD and be relaxed about eating on NFDs without guilt. The mental progress is huge for me. Physically (as in what I physically stuff in my gob) I’m getting better every week, smaller portions of treat foods, eventually I’ll aim to get to no treat foods most days but for now I’m celebrating each little achievement.

    Croatia, Day 11, NFD
    Weight: 76.4 Kg

    Day 11 Essex UK. NFD.

I’m a little apprehensive about today. I want to stick to my menu so calories & input are as they should be. I’m busy so it’s very possible. I do feel the back of my throat is suggesting a virus of sorts…

    Have a good day all.

    Day 11, Brussels, NFD

Didn’t check in yesterday after falling in bed within 30 min of getting home from work (but can see that I had written the wrong day on my entry before that.. sorry for that Fuvvie!)

Yesterday I had a FD and since my official weigh in on Saturday I’ve dropped 0,5 kg making my current weight 64,7 and finding myself back in a BMI range under 25. I can’t describe how happy I am for that at the moment!

Have a great day all of you!
    x

Day 10: Pacific NW USA, 495 cal FD

I tried to make it a liquid only FD too, Brighton. Hope your’s went well! After traveling yesterday, home late, couldn’t wind down to go to sleep till 3:30 AM, at work early and stayed late to catch up on backlog – whine, whine, I had to give in to fatigue. I went to MFP and decided what I could eat under 500 cal and I feel much better because I did. I will see how I feel tomorrow about another FD.

I’ve spent the entire evening going back 3 pages and catching up on all your posts that I missed while I was out of town. Your words and insights have helped me hold to the 1/4 TDEE tonight and recognize that I need more hydration rather than more food. Itsmyturn, I also am very prone to forget to stop and drink, especially when I get busy. I can just ignore the signals my body is sending – maybe why I got where I am!

Ciren and SongBird – you are our role models for making your goals. You’re showing this crowd the way!

Fuvvie – thanks for the comments, you know I’ve always air dried my slacks because of fear of shrinkage but maybe I’ll risk it with those sweats and see if I can keep them around a while longer. One problem I had getting to bed last night was I had to go through my closet to find something that fit for work today since everything I unpacked went in the laundry. The result – a bigger pile of donations! Never fear though, I saved most of the clothes I out grew over the last few yearsI

OK, SongBird, we’re into the 11th inning of a do or die for the Giants against your Cubs as I write this tonight. You probably aren’t watching because of the time difference, it’s 11:00 PM here so I’m not going to catch up on any sleep tonight!

    Newcastle UK – NFD
    Weight: 14st 11lbs (207lbs) – no change this week.

I think I need to look at my TDEE on NFD as I may be overeating. My ‘no change’ may also be due to hormonal monthly issues so I’m not upset that there’s been no change. In fact, I’m quite happy I haven’t popped back up into the 15st bracket. I’ll continue as I am, weighing weekly, and if nothing’s changed in a couple of weeks then it’s definitely my TDEE.

Have fun today, fellow forum fasters!

    London | Day 10 | FD

Success! Managed to have a small meal at lunch time and another one at dinner all within 500 cals 🙂

Not snacking during the day was a new concept for me at school and I actually enjoyed it a lot. Before I would have breakfast when I got there at 8.30am, a snack at 11am, lunch at 12.30pm and a snack at 3pm plus on most days I’d be snacking in between. No wonder that by the afternoon I was ready for a nap!

Yesterday I started feeling hungry about 10am but just pushed through concentrating on my drawing. Lunch was heavenly even though it was only fast day soup 😉 The afternoon was easy and I was wide awake the whole time!

Looking to do the same today but with a proper meal at lunchtime. If I can do a day like yesterday on fast soup, I can most certainly do it today 🙂

    Happy going everyone!

    Scotland
    Day 11
    FD
Weighed in yesterday and only down 1/2 lb this week . Replaced battery in scales and they weren’t kind for my trouble ! I usually fast Monday and Thursday but as I mentioned my mum and dad both died recently and my lovely step dad was visiting yesterday . He loves baked potato with coronation chicken on our lunches out so decided to do a home made version as both girls off school on “tattie holidays ” and decided lunch at home would be easier . Then it was Hairy Dieters meatballs & pasta for dinner .
Tuesday and Thursday fasting for me . I don’t find it easy with the kids at home as we’re doing a lot of curling up on the couch movie watching and snacks go hand in hand . Anyway keeping myself and my mind busy today . Off on a shopping trip later to help 8 year old spend her birthday money . Happy Tuesday all x

    UK
    Day 11
    FD

    Today’s weight 141.8lb (64.3kg)

Away until Friday evening, so see how it goes eating out! Anybody got any tips?

    Have a lovely day, all!

    Day 11 Portugal
    68.3kg
    30mins exercise this morning.
    Today is a FD

Weight seems to fluctuate quite a bit, hoping for the scales to be kind after today’s FD. Need to remember to drink lots of water.

Tweed Coast Australia / Day 11 / NFD

Since reaching goal weight I feel much more ‘thin skinned’ and find I don’t handle ‘digs’ as well as I did when I was cushioned by weight. I’m much more sensitive and jabs hurt more. I realize I’m going to have to learn to deal with these if I’m to maintain goal weight because my usual response is to snack/binge and I’d like to find an alternative that is right for me. I’m observing this and being as gentle with myself as possible.

    FD tomorrow.
