Starting tomorrow

  • Hello all. Hope you’re all well. Tomorrow I will start the 5:2 diet as feel dreadful – always bloated. I have stuck with this diet for 6 weeks a while back and lost 13 pounds but then gave up!! Why?? I would like to know what calories does everyone stick to when they’re not on their fast days?

    Best of luck this time. I’ve been doing this for over 9 years and I do not count my calories at all on non-fast days and never have. What I did find after a couple of months was that my portion control improved dramatically without my realising it. I only realised this when I said to my wife that the portion she was giving me on a NFD looked a bit big – and she told me it was less than half of what I’d have had before I began doing 5:2.
