Newbie- Start on Thursday

    Have read great feedback about the long term health impact that this diet offers.
    I have bought some fast diet kitchen meals to get me started .. And I will do Monday and Thursday fasting .. Am 59 and need to get rid of menopause middle which I know that I can do .. Anyone want to be a Buddy ?

    Hi Becca8, I am not exactly a newbie, I have ‘dabbled’ with 5:2 for a year or so but haven’t been consistent!!! Now I am more determined as I am 51 and don’t want to gain any more weight as I have an arthritic hip. I plan to fast on Mon and Thu and am hoping to lose 14 lbs. What’s your goal?

    Thanks for replying .
    I have not got a weight goal , because if I weigh myself I get obsessive about it and that can affect if I feel good or bad about how I am doing , so I tend to do everything by dress size.
    I was an 18 -20, then went down to a 16-18, then went down 14- 16, then went down 12- 14 , now gone up to a tight 14 again so want to shift this before i lose the advantage
    I will do Monday and Thursday as well. I have decided that I need to try and keep busy in some ways during these 2 days because I can get obsessed by not eating and then stuff, that is natural for most people , but on the other hand I can do one day at a time .. On Monday evenings there is an Aquafit class and on Thursday mornings another, so I will aim to do those ..
    I know as well that this weight has come back on because of too much wine and cheese that I pig out on when I have had too much wine !!
    Good luck I will fast on Thursday , can’t start today as had prev dinner engagement
