  • Hello Everyone
I am a 45 year old “knowledge worker” living in the US. I basically sit all day and type (oh joy). I have been on many eating plans with some success but, found most if not all of them, difficult to stick to mostly because of the social awkwardness. I am currently at 109KG (240lbs) and need to lose about 80 lbs. After reading the book and watching the YouTube videos of Dr. Michael Mosley, I have decided to try out this eating plan for 3 months. This seems like a reasonable length of time to determine if this is a lifelong habit to stick with. Based on the calculations on this site, my non-fast days, I can eat up to 2100 cals. On my fast days 550 cals (based on 25% of my TDEE).
I would love to connect with anyone who is starting out as well. If you are from the US or live in the US, please send me a message as well. I need all the buddies I can get.
    Thanks!

Hi Unknown Feline, How is it going? Have you begun 5:2 yet? How was your first FD (fast day)?

I started 5:2 in late June, so have been at this a couple months, though still feel like a newbie. I am originally from the US, though now reside in Australia. You may have seen that there is a dedicated thread that some Americans started, though I see that it has kind of gone quiet over the past week or so. Here’s the link, if you’d like to check it out and/or revive it by posting:
