New starter here…Abs stories anyone?

  • Hi all,
    I’m a 6ft 1″, 13st 8lb, 47 year old male in the UK. I start my first fast day tomorrow with scrambled eggs and plum tomatoes for breakfast and a vegetable broth for my evening meal. I haven’t received my Fast Diet books yet but I’m hoping they’ll arrive tomorrow. It’s been great to read the forum and hear such positive comments. This lifestyle does truly seem to have improved the lives of many. I am looking forward to getting started.

    Anyway, it dawned on me that, if I’m successful in losing a few pounds, perhaps…just perhaps…there could be a small possibility that I might see my abs for the first time in around 20 years. Is it possible? Does anyone have an abs story?..I’d love to hear it. I’d also welcome any tips to help me start out.

    Hey daz, Im 6 2 and got up to 85kilos this winter. Am pretty active and healthy but it just sneaks onto your guts. Anyway after 5 weeks of IF I’m down to 80.5 and my upper abs have reappeared. I need to lose another 3 or so to get back to my 20’s weight and that will be flat stomach time. If you want to really nail it, cut out all grain based foods and keep up th exercise, particularly high intensity and lifting stuff. Google Marks Daily Apple for some really interesting ideas that go way beyond 52.

    Hi Westozzybloke. Thanks for the heads up on Mark’s Daily Apple, it’s now in my Favourites. It’s great to hear you’ve lost nearly 5kg in 5 weeks and the abs are starting to show. That’s inspiration to me. Hope I can replicate your success. I do 2 hours a week of aerobic stuff at the moment but my kettlebell’s collecting dust. I need to up my game. Today was my first fast day, I found it easier than I’d expected. Sipping water and green tea seemed to help keep the hunger at bay. Cheers and happy fasting.
